Disney CRO appears to be cracking down...

I think there has been so much non-news that I was frustrated. I'm sure that many people have good information to share. I wish I had a really good excuse for not being as nice as I might have. Sorry. Susan

I can see that this is going to drive me nuts:headache: :headache: :dance3: :headache: for the next 7 months.

I didn't think you sounded crabby at all. :) I think it it very frustrating but also hard to express ones self in writing.

If it wasn't for these boards I may have just thrown that card in the garbage...I wouldn't have been looking out for something in the mail. These boards made my last vacation so much more efficient and fun and I thank everyone for that. This code thing (although a bit confusing) is still one of those times I can be thankful for. Imagine all the non-planners who don't have this information. Let's not sweat this stuff...:)

Thanks again all.

I kinda wish I was one of those people that don't have a clue their reservation might be in jeopardy! I have the discount and it was offered to me, not asked for so I happily took it. Now that I want to change dates etc.. I am scared to call and have it change because I couldn't afford to go if it increased.

I just changed the dates on a ressie that I got with the code....that I shouldn't have gotten. I was assured the ressie was safe and the date changes were made with no problem.

Well you have one way to look at this, you can always think that if you weren't reading on here that it was going to be canceled, you never should have gotten it.. etc... you would be fine .. nothing wrong, you did not ask...they offered.. ... just pretend that you are not reading it here. Honestly, none of us knows exactly what is going to happen anyway... so you may as well not worry.. if you never saw this, you would not be worrying...;)

CRO offered me a great rate when I called to price an upgrade from CBR to AKL. I accepted it and booked AKL with the discount. I called back this afternoon and changed to WL. I still got the same great rate. I questioned the change and my discount and the CM told me they gave me the discount and it had to be honored with the switch.

this may be a little off topic, but will all these code and AP rates I am reading about- am I to understand that you have to have a postcard code and pin to get an AP rate??
We will have the AP for our trip and read that you can book the room only discounts offered to AP holders(when offered) at the AP rate(w/out the AP in hand, so long as you have it when you check in). I just figured that when the AP rates come out, I will call and ask for the discounted rate, since I will have the AP for our trip. Is that wrong info?
Thank you and sorry if this is OT and I hijacked:confused:

Ok.. with all this confusion.. I wanted to throw in my .2 cents about what I was told on Thursday (sorry if this gets long!!)
I heard about "the code" a few weeks ago, but didn't really think twice about it.. until tax time came around and we got back a "bonus" amount :cool1: so DH asked what I wanted to do with the $$ of course I said I wanna go to Disney. I decided to call up and see if I had any discount codes I hadn't gotten word of under my name. Called CRO.. nothing.... got a quote for POP for Nov. decided to call back the next day after remembering about "the code"... asked if I could get a quote for AKL with it... CM did it without thinking twice.. gave me excellent rates with dinning and PH tickets... for both AKL and WL... I got a hold put on it (AKL) until I could clear it with DH and we could decide where to go for certain.... and when ... as DH is in the navy and currently deployed. I called back the next day to check on different dates with "the code" and got a very nice and helpful CM who I was talking to about changing dates and checking on the code. She put me on hold for about 5 mins while she checked on something... came back and told me that "the code" was not a public code (had no idea) and that b/c I didn't have it in either myself or DH's name or addresses that we couldn't book anything new, but that she had checked with her supervisor b/c I had the hold on the ressies already for AKL.. .she told me that her supervisor had put a note on that reservation that I was not supposed to be using the code and that I knew it but that I would be able to use the code to book that 1 that I already had on hold. She told me that there were a lot of CM's booking the code w/out people having the pins and that they were going to crack down on it and they were supposed to be checking thoroughly now and they weren't letting people book anything new. But she did tell me that I COULD keep my current discount since it had "slipped through the system". I called back the next day and put my deposit down.... but did find out that they had put the hold on the wrong resort (on the WL) so we switched it with no problems since it should have been AKL... also, for some reason... when she switched them, the rate was $200 less then what I had been told 2 days earlier!!! so I added on another night.:yay: :yay: Hope this helps re-assure someone... It's helping me get through all this confusion... of course I might just be "being told what I wanted to hear" like some people said... but who knows. I'm just going to go based on what I was told by a supervisor... at least there should be notes in my acct saying that I was told I could keep the current discount.

Congrats :) And good to hear. May want to look @ another thread on here that someone is keeping track of all the people who got lucky and slipped through the CMs' mistakes.

That is my story exacty! I booked AKL after having it on hold with a discount the first CM was not supposed to give me. The CM that actually booked it said that his supervisor had put a note on my account and that the code would be honored. I switched to WL yesterday without a problem...the CM told me they still had to honor the code. I bet the reason AKL was cheaper was because all WL had was a courtyard view with bunkbeds. I paid about $350 more to move over.

Congrats!!
