Wow. We got our Disney Credit Card on Saturday. Just applied a few weeks ago so I didn't think we would get it before our trip. We plan to use it for the deposit on our next cruise while we are on board.

Is this card through Bank One? If so, does anyone know if you already have a card with Bank One can you change it to the Disney Card?

I have the Disney Credit Card thru the Disney Store and I applied for the Visa Disney Card last week....I hope to have it soon to use it for our upcoming trip. Do you earn more points if you use it for a Disney Vacation/Cruise??? My Continental Chase card earns me 1 point for every dollar spent but 2 points for any Continental airline ticket.

Does yours say Day 1 on it? If you applied before a certain date they are supposed to Day 1.

We applied the very same day I saw the information on the DIS boards. I had signed up to be notified when the began taking applications but never heard anything. Only found out about it because of the boards.
Ours does say cardmember since Day 1.
It has the shape of a Mickey head in the middle of the card.

The visa disney card is part of both Bank One and 1st usa bank. I've already checked on that.

I had a card w/ 1st usa bank that i never used ( just got it to get the free stuff handed out at a football game:rolleyes: ) I received a call at work last week asking if I"d just like to switch the credit amount over the the Disney Visa and cancel the other card. I said YES!!!!! So i received the letter the other day saying old cc was cancelled, and the Disney Visa should be on its way soon.

So i would assume, if you called and asked them, that it could be done!! HTH!!

I have not received mine yet either, and I applied on day one, and had verbal contact w/the company telling me I was approved!! So i'm waiting impatiently for it!! Maybe it will be there today in the mailbox when I get home from work???....along w/my tax return!!!! Wishfull thinking I know!!;) A girl's gotta have her dreams though!! hahaha:D

I applied for my Disney Visa card less than 2 weeks ago and got mine in the mail on Saturday. It does say Day One on the card.

Their literature is very confusing in trying to figure out how the point systems works. Near as I can tell, you get one dream dollar for every $100 you spend, with a maximum of 750 dream dollars in one year. You'd have to charge $75,000 to get that 750! Guess you can use the reward dollars like cash for Disney vacations or merchandise purchases. Unless I'm reading it wrong, some one please correct me. Otherwise, I'm a little disappointed in it. I have a Marriott Visa now and their point system is a lot more generous.

I just got off the phone with customer service for the new visa card and was told you get extra points if you use the card for any Disney vacation or cruise....he did not go into all the details, though.

Here is the customer service # 1-888-338-2586

A recording will tell you if you have been approved or not by entering your SS#.

Then I hit an option to talk to a rep and he said my card was mailed out on the 2nd and it should arrive any day....I hope so because I want to pay off the balance of our upcoming cruise on that card. Might as well start earning those points!!!

Our other visa card has the Disney card beat hands down. But I wanted the Disney one. Don't really plan on using it much just once in while.

mj, you're about to reach "Dave_from_Marietta" and "Barb &Tony" status :smooth: It's getting to the point that no matter how obscure the subject matter, there you are with an answer. Just how did you have the customer service tel nbr handy?

I did get mine in the mail today when I got home, no tax refund, but the Disney Visa will do for today!!:Pinkbounc

I just got mine today also!!! I never should have applied ---boy my hubby is in trouble now!!! I can't wait to use it and get my collectors pin.

Got mine today. Haven't read EVERYTHING that came with it, but I did notice the travel perks:

If you book your cruise and/or Disney vacation with it, you get no interest for six months. I didn't see anything that stated that you get extra points for booking a vacation on it, though.

The info stated earlier is correct, you would have to charge up to $75,000 to get 750 points. You get 1% of each purchase in Disney Dollars.

It does have Card Member since Day 1.

Mine is red with a giant Mickey Head in the middle. :)

To get the 0% it says in the guidebook you have to charge the deposit and remaining balance to the card. There is also a bonus offer of $50.00 per stateroom when you use the card.Offer good for sailingsthrough 12/31/03. The code is DCC.

You also get 6 months 0% as an introductory rate on anything you purchase.

TeamMom....thank you so very much....I feel honored!!!!

I had called the regular # off the website and asked a question and the rep referred me to the customer service dept...and gave me the toll free #. I had just called a few minutes before I saw the thread!!! Perfect timing!!!

MJ

So it sounds like since I've already made my deposit on my cruise, that I won't get the 0% if I put the balance on the card. Is that right?

Also, what do the Disney dollars do? Will I get them for charging the cruise on there?

Thanks everyone!

I called my TA who called Disney to see if I would have to cancel my cruise and rebook it using my new Visa to get the $50. onboard credit. Disney canceled my deposit on the old CC and put it on the new, applied the DCC code to my ressie. All I have to do is pay off the balance of my cruise with my new Disney Visa.
