I went to akershus was my now 10 yr old was 11 months old and I really liked it then went back when she was 5 n didnt care for it,n then i went in September and I re-liked it LOl so I'm hoping when I go in May that I will still like it Lol.

I am loving your reports and your amazing photos! I love the Beach Club too! It is our favorite resort. I have never been Akershus and would love to see some pics of the inside of the restaurant if you have any. I wasn't too sure of the menu there but what you had looks great.
Can't wait to read more. I have 64 more days til I get to come down and share the magic!

Yes, and don't forget the Garden Marketplace this year in all its yummy goodness! I've been telling them they need food booths just like the F&WF. Aren't you glad they finally listened to me? Jess, if you and Lia stop by the booths, pleeeease tell us about it. Oh! And make sure Lia tries the seafood kabobs.

February 14th, 2013 (Part 2) - Valentine's Day in the Magic Kingdom!

Our first princess was Aurora who was so pleasant to talk to. I wonder when they are going to change her dress over, though! It has to be soon!

Next was Cinderella and she was just darling! She was absolutely gorgeous and she was so incredibly kind.

Snow White was next and when she came to the table Nana just started crying! Snow White is her absolute favorite because the movie came out when she was growing up. It was so special to meet her this morning!

Ariel was last and she was all bubbly (no pun intended) and precious! Gahh every princess was so good!

We left VERY happy and walked back to the Beach Club. We went up to our room and dropped off our complimentary picture and then drove to the Magic Kingdom!

The first thing we did when we got into Magic Kingdom was RUN to get fastpasses to meet the princesses. The return time (at 10:30 am) was already 4:05 in the afternoon. EVERYONE wanted to meet the famous Disney couples on the most romantic day of the year!

We headed into the Magic Kingdom and we saw Tiana and Naveen head to their greeting spot! Tiana is Dea’s favorite so we had to go meet them! The wait was a little bit long but we didn’t mind. Dea and I ran to get me a new pen for my autograph book because my old one exploded before breakfast this morning!

We got back and it was time to meet Tiana and Naveen! They were both SO wonderful and Naveen asked Nana to be his valentine! It was pretty much the cutest thing ever.

Next we went into Fantasyland. We saw the carriage all set up and we had to take a picture!

We wandered towards the carrousel looking for a jolly couple, and then all of the sudden we saw them walking towards us! It was perfect timing because we were right at the front of the line! It was so wonderful to meet them and Bert had such great energy!

If you hadn’t guessed, the lines were really crazy today because, of course, Magic Kingdom is the place to be on holidays. However, the carousel didn’t have a line! So Dea and I hopped right on. We’re still children, it’s fine.

I grabbed a picture of Bert and Mary from the carousel! They are just too adorable!

Then we went to Tomorrowland and went on Carousel of Progress! Dea was so intrigued by how the seats move and how the story is set on all different holidays.

February 14th, 2013 (Part 3) - Be Our Guest

After that we got some Space Mountain fastpasses and realized we were getting hungry! I thought we might as well try Be Our Guest, even if the line was long.

We got in line and it was actually shorter than the first time I went! It really only took about 30 minutes and by the time we got to the front of the line it started raining a little bit.

We sat in the library room today!

I ordered the Turkey Sandwich and it was REALLY good! The turkey is hand carved and it was so fresh. Also, those fries are to die for.

Nana got a gluten free turkey sandwich!

Dea got the kid's pork meal.

And Mom got the Quinoa Salad which she said was VERY good.

She also got the delicious potato leek soup!

For dessert I decided I wanted to try the lemon-raspberry crème puff.

Mom got the lemon merengue cupcake which was SO good. The cake is so moist and light. YUM!

After lunch we started heading towards Tomorrowland. However, we saw the White Rabbit hiding from the rain in Fantasyland and he barely had a line! So we said a quick hello and got autographs and pictures.

Then we went on the PeopleMover! That's always a good ride to go on when it's crowded! While I was waiting, Mamarooski from twitter came up and said hi! She was so excited to meet my Mom and me, and she told my Mom that she raised a beautiful and sweet young lady! She was SO nice and I'm so happy we got to meet!

It was around 2:30 pm then so Dea and I had two sets of Space Mountain fastpasses to use up!

While we did that, Mom and Nana got Buzz fastpasses and went to the Hall of Presidents. Dea was nervous about going on Space Mountain but obviously she ended up LOVING it! We were just laughing so much both times - it was great fun!

After that we went on Buzz Lightyear! I did pretty well - I got in the 400,000's. I don't remember the exact score. These are the frumpiest Buzz ride photos I think I have ever seen.

Then we headed back to Main Street. We had a little time before our fastpasses but we saw Snow White and Prince Charming outside so we had to wait to meet them! They were lovely!

I absolutely melted when I read about how your Nana reacted to meeting Snow White! My grandma also L-O-V-E-S Snow White! She remembers when it came out in the theaters and how she went to go see it. I love that so many different generations can have their own memories with Disney movies and the parks.

That's so funny that people keeping running into you that read your TR. I have to admit that when we go in a couple of months, I don't know if I'll be too nervous to go up and say hi to you. It's like you're a celebrity! It does make me wish that we were staying at CS so you could check us in and that my DD could trade pins with you at the desk!

February 14th, 2013 (Part 4) - True Love Week!

By the time we finished there, it was time to use our fastpasses!

I posted on twitter:
These made our lives SO much easier today.

Even though we had them we still had to wait for about 20 minutes. It was absolutely NUTS in there. I think that the standby was 120 minutes at that point in the day. Wow.

Our first couple was Rapunzel and Flynn who I was SO excited to meet! I chatted with Flynn most of the time (obviously) but everyone else said Rapunzel was absolutely adorable as well!

Aurora and Phillip were next and they were precious as well. Everyone was just so happy to be together for Valentines Day!

Our last prince and princess couple was Cinderella and Prince Charming!

Right before meeting the princesses we grabbed fastpasses to meet Mickey and Minnie, so it was time to meet them next! I got SO excited when I walked in. They were so happy to see us! We told them Happy Valentines Day and they gave us lots of hugs and kisses!

First off I asked to take pictures of just them:

Then Mickey sprinkled a little extra pixie dust on our meet and greet and let us take a picture with just Minnie:

And then just Mickey! What a wonderful treat and what sweet mice! They are my favorite Disney couple HANDS DOWN.

Then we were going to head back into the park, but it was raining so we went in the stores. What do you know, but THE DAPPER DANS were singing inside because it was raining. They sang the song Heart of my Heart for Valentines Day and Nana started crying because thats the song her father used to sing. Her parents anniversary was on Valentines day.

The Dapper Dans were absolutely WONDERFUL and they sounded incredible. The last song they sang today was so impressive. I wish I wouldve video taped the last note because it was GORGEOUS. Oh my goodness.

I actually went up to them and talked to them after the show was over. They were all SO nice.

After that we were going to go ride Its a Small World and Dumbo, but the rain was AWFUL. Plus it was cold. So we decided to head out of the park. Nana bought some Rice Krispie balls in the Confectionery and then we caught the tram/monorail to the parking lot.

We were going to go to Yak and Yeti for dinner, but we cancelled it and replaced it with Cape May. We chilled out in the room for a bit, I caught up on my journal, and then we headed to dinner!

We were seated and enjoyed the wonderful food offerings Cape May had for us tonight. It was a very heavy carbs day, but I justified it because I was away from my boyfriend on Valentine's Day. YAY FOR EATING MY FEELINGS.

And all of my dessert choices. The cheesecake is my FAVORITE.

After dinner I went back to the room and packed everything up. We were switching resorts tomorrow! I was looking through my pins and this one was definitely the best find of the day. It's Minnie in a Haunted Mansion outfit!! I traded for it with the character attendant that was with Bert and Mary Poppins.

Then I drove back to my apartment and went to sleep!

Woot! Yay for updates I am glad you had a wonderful time with your family, who are all adorable as usual. Your Nana makes me want to cry with her when you say she cried at the sight of Snow White & when the Dapper Dans were singing "Heart of My Heart." Aww! She sounds so sweet.

I absolutely LOVE the Dapper Dans, btw. Their voices are like velvet, just so smooth and always right on key with each other in their harmonies. Imagine when barber shop quartets were common and you could hear singing like that all the time? So crazy how musical styles change over time, but you can always go back to classic songs sung by talented singers and it doesnt' matter that they are "old fashioned," they are just plain good.

And..I feel like I had more to comment on but I lose track reading multiple updates! Oh, the princes out with their princesses is so cool! That is, so far, the best limited magic that Disney has offered this year. My upcoming vacation takes place over the course of 3 calendar weeks (10 days but its' like the end of a week, a full week, and then a sunday) so I can't wait to see what they have going on while we are there and hope that we can experience at least 2 of the different "magics" they are offering

The princesses new dresses are pretty so far. I think I liked Belle's previous dress better, it seemed like a brighter yellow, but the new one isn't bad. And Cinderella's dress is really nice. I am just not a huge fan of their new hairstyles...they don't really look like their movie selves. My dd and I were looking at some Princess merchandise on the Disney store website, and she was questioning me "Why are they wearing so much makeup? I like their old face better." The new cartoon versions are VERY contoured and overly made up (imo) but I am happy to see that the "real" princesses in the parks are not that heavy handed with their bronzer!

I am loving your updates. This was an option when I was in college, but didn't pursue since I had never been to Disney. Now, after having been there three times in 3 years, I am so regretting it. What a wonderful opportunity for you. I can see you becoming a lifelong cast member.

Your trip report is great, Jess! Your grandma's response to Snow White reminded me of how my grandpa loved it as well. It was the first movie he saw, and he loved it for the rest of his life. He always talked about it in such a sweet way-he always said it was his favorite movie. And he so loved Dopey.

And I love the story about the Dapper Dan's song and how she felt about that-my grandma does that a lot when something from her childhood comes up. It's awesome that your Nana got to experience two of those moments in one trip. And so special for all of you to see her caught up in a moment from so long ago.
