I just read the whole thing and totally understand how it was the thread of the week!

Actually,it was Thread of the Four Weeks(Month)!;):)

I am so glad Jess was awarded TOTM because it has introduced her amazing writings(I recommend "The Port Report-Frumpin' Around The World With The Bathrobe Princessess"-FUNNY stuff!:)) to many more DISers.:)

So glad you are along for the ride and have joined all of us Frumps over here!:)

Have really enjoyed reading everything so far. DH and I spent several days at CSR last October and we really enjoyed it. While waiting for the Magical Express to take us to the airport () the manager of the resort came over to talk to us. Turns out she is from the same province we are from. Small world. Looking forward to reading along.

February 7-10th, 2013

February 7th, 2013

Hi everyone! Time to catch up on updates!

On Thursday, February 7th, I had my first Corporate Communications Class which was pretty cool.

That night Mark and I went to Chick-fil-a for dinner!

February 8th, 2013

On Friday, February 8th, I worked from 10:30-7 pm. It was really busy because of the storm, Nemo. We had people extending their stays and cancelling because of the weather up north. It was nuts!

I saw this on Facebook and thought it was completely appropriate:

My highlight of that night was making dino chicken nuggets for dinner. BEST DECISION EVER. You are never too old for dino chicken nuggets.

February 9th, 2013 - Magic Kingdom till Midnight!

Then February 9th, was my 5th day of front desk training at Coronado.

I was earning my ears, baby!

img8243z.jpg

After work I got a message from my Mom. She said that she called to get our reservation settled for when she, my Nana, and Dea come down to visit. So she gave them the reservation number and everything and for some reason our reservation at the Boardwalk was CANCELLED. I have absolutely no idea why that happened.

However, apparently we were on a waiting list for the Beach Club&. AND IT WAS AVAILABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the Boardwalk and I haven't stayed there since I was 10, but the Beach Club is my FAVORITE RESORT ON DISNEY PROPERTY. Seriously, I'm not upset in the slightest. I'm actually THRILLED! I am so excited for them to come visit!!!!

I drove home, got changed, and then Mark came over. I was out of work at 3:30 pm today and it was the most beautiful thing. Mark and I headed right to Magic Kingdom! It was open until 12 tonight so we were excited!

We wore our #DisneyVacation shirts. You can't really tell in this picture because it's wrinkled, but it's the best shirt ever... considering I'm such a twitter queen.

We parked in the Scar parking lot, took the monorail, and got to Magic Kingdom!

img8313y.jpg

We wanted to see if any table service restaurants were available for tonight, but the only thing was Crystal Palace at 9:15 pm. Although I totally would've been up for Crystal Palace, the time was just too late.

We walked down Main Street USA singing along with "Dream Along With Mickey" because we are very obsessed with the soundtrack.

We wandered over to Fantasyland and ate at Pinocchios Village Haus. We sat on the 2nd story. I got a side Caesar salad and pepperoni flatbread:

Mark got the meatball sub:

After that, Mark and I wandered around. We found ourselves in new Fantasyland and Mark wanted to meet Ariel!

So we got in line and waited for about 35 minutes.

She was really adorable and it was my first time in her grotto! I love the theming in there!

Sergio met up with us at that point! I really wanted some dessert so we wandered over to Frontierland and got some Mickey bars!

dsc1135r.jpg

We went in Pecos Bill and found a table to enjoy our Mickey Bars. THEY WERE SO GOOD. Thats Mickey Bar #2 of my DCP! I did drop a piece of chocolate on the ground and was slightly devastated. SUCH GOOD CHOCOLATE.... WASTED. So sad.

dsc1134r.jpg

After that, Mark wanted to get a churro and Sergio and I got waters. Then we headed to PhilharMagic! Mark has never seen it before so we really needed to fix that. We sat up in the third row and it was a great show as usual. I get chills every single time!!

img8314h.jpg

We went back to Frontierland and almost went on Big Thunder Mountain... but even during Wishes the line was super long.

So the boys got corn dogs and I went in the pin store and Lindsay was actually working there so we were able to say hi!

Then we were just getting sleepy. I had been up since 5:45 am and same with Mark, so we just left the park. The lines for the monorail were BEYOND INSANE. So we just walked to the Contemporary and took the monorail from there. It was a much better decision. It probably took the same amount of time but that way we were walking and keeping ourselves busy.

We took the monorail to the TTC and then had to wait for 3 trams until we could go to the parking lot. I drove us back and we went to our apartments. I put away my pins and then it was time for bed!

February 10th, 2013 - I Earned My Ears!

Today was my first day without a trainer. This was a BIG DAY. And the good news? It went SO MUCH BETTER THAN I THOUGHT!

I began working and my advisor asked if I was done with training. I told her yes and she was like "YOU'RE ONE OF US NOW! Take that red ribbon off!" So as far as Front Desk.... I EARNED MY EARS! :thumbsup2

After work I called my Mom. SHE'S COMING HERE TOMORROW! YAY!!

I chatted with Lindsay when I got home and I told her about my day. Then I came and wrote my trip report updates! Now here we are at the current moment. Hooray!

Continued in Next Post

Hi! Lurker here, but I had to come out of the shadows to say that I almost wish we were staying at Coronado Springs when we bring my granddaughter to WDW in THREE WEEKS FROM TODAY (!!!!)for her first visit. Your interaction with the little girl today just warmed my heart, and I truly hope we have some of that Pixie Dust when we check in to Art of Animation! She is 3 1/2, in love with princesses, and I am beyond excited to get there and see her take it all in!

Thank you for sharing your experience with all of us Disney geeks--you are a great writer and your enthusiasm for Disney and for your job is so fun to see! Congratulations on your GSF card. I'm sure it's the first of many!

Here's hoping someday we see you being friends with a princess...;)

Yaay, an update! Let's celebrate! What you did for that little girl sounds SO cute, you're such a nice person! I'm sure you made her day! I hope I get to see a picture of that sweatshirt and your new pins. I hope you're having an awesome time!

Congrats on Thread of the Month!

I was SO HAPPY for you when I got your message!!! I know I already told you this but I'm sure you will have MANY of those cards once your DCP is up!

It's so awesome imagining you behind the desk at Coronado. It's just so wonderful to see one of my friends actually getting to live their dream. Eeeee it's after midnight so that means 56 DAYS UNTIL I AM THERE!!! I can't wait to see you!

Awww... I loved that moment with Meredith - how sweet! You totally deserved a GSF card!

Congratualtions on earning your ears!

And how awesome that your mom will be there today!!! This is just going so fast - it seems like yesterday you said it would be 18 days... I hope you have many magical moments with your mom and family there. :D

D~

NO FAIR posting the story about Princess Meredith!!!!:)

Now I've got to drive to work with tears in my eyes!!!!:)

CONGRATULATIONS on the GSF recognition!!!!:)

I'm sure it is just the first of MANY for you!!!!:)

With all of these awards and honors pouring in for you,I think you are definitely the front-runner to receive "Frump of the Year" at "The Frumpys"!!!!;):)

You missed the snow, Jess! I live in Mass and we got two feet+. I am only a little jealous of you in sunny Florida…

Your reservation was CANCELED for the Boardwalk?!?!?! Disney is so great lately with their reservation system… BUT YAY FOR THE BEACH CLUB!!!

That Disney vacation shirt is PERFECT. I need it.

Ariel’s Grotto looks so amazing. I am dying to meet her in there.

It’s 7:30AM and I WANT A MICKEY BAR.

I heard/saw the crowds were ridiculous at the parks. Probably because school vacations?

That is AMAZING that you got a GSF card! I bet you truly made her day!

OK, I kind of want one of those #DisneyVacation t-shirts. That is pretty awesome even though I don't tweet that much.

Congrats on getting a GSF card! My sister posted about getting one of those the other day too. Very exciting and I'm sure well deserved. :)

Thank you so much for doing this report. I am really missing WDW right now so I love reading about your experience. Your pics have helped me feel a bit warmer as the snow is piled high outside!

Luvin the updates. Well done on getting a GSF card on your first day without a trainer.

Thanks again for the wonderful updates.

I'm so excited for you! You earned your wings and you're on your way!

Congratulations on the GSF card!:woohoo: What you did for Meredith was sooooo sweet! Let's face it, who can resist your beautiful smile and infectious enthusiasm? It's great that your fellow CM noticed how easily you can turn those occasional frowns upside down too :upsidedow before sending the guests on their way. pixiedust:

Sorry about your Boardwalk ressie, but - Yaaayy! You have a ressie at The Beach Club - my favorite resort!!! :woohoo: :yay::yay: You're just steps away from the best of everything in any direction! If you stop by Hurricane Hanna's please let us know what you think.

Mark is too cute in his pursuit of the princesses. Go Mark! :thumbsup2 Once we waited 11/2hr for Ariel. :scared1: We "never, ever, ever, ever..." (in your best Taylor Swift voice) wait that long for anything, but my daughter was young and wouldn't budge. Ariel was sooooo worth it. The interaction was perfect and so unrushed. Well worth the wait.

Sorry Pinnochio's wasn't great :stir:; hopefully that was just a fluke. You always eat so healthy. And it has to be amazing to have such a variety of fantastic meals at your fingertips everyday of the week.

Have fun creating amazing experiences for your guests!

Jess, I love your updates! I usually just read, but I had to comment because we are headed down to the World in May, and it will be the first trip for my two little princesses! They'll be 5 and 3 (almost 4) when we arrive, and your story about Meredith just pulled at my heart strings! My eyes are tearing up, and I'm going to turn into a blubbery mess soon. Thank you so much for sharing, and I hope we encounter CM's during our trip with the same wonderful attitude you have!

My DD and I were at the Magic Kingdom on Saturday morning and we couldn't believe the crowds!!! Added to the fact that Space Mountain was down part of the morning, and Big Thunder was down every time we checked, made for not the best last few hours of our trip!! But we made the best of it anyway!! Congrats on the recognition, and GOOD LUCK on your audition!! I have a feeling you will do amazing!!

Reading this report is just the best!!! You are so awesome, keep living the dream!! <3

Meredith story = LOVE

OK....I know....I'm really bad at being a "lurker" ever since I joined this board. But, I had to come out of hiding to say that your trip reports the the BEST. I look forward to reading them every day. :cool1:
