May 13th, 2013 (Part 1) - LIA'S HERE!!!!!
This morning I woke up and talked on the phone with my Mom for a very long time. We had a good solid heart to heart. After that, I took a shower and got ready and I headed over to Port Orleans French Quarter!
I got there around the time when LIA AND LEE-ANNE WERE ON THE MAGICAL EXPRESS BUS!!!! So I waited around a little bit, caught up on my frumpstagram, and then I went to go check in. Port is getting their front desk all redone, so I was redirected into a different area than your typical front desk.
Lia was a doll and she did online check-in. I got the room cost all figured out and adjusted, I found out where our room was, and then I headed out to the front of the lobby just as the magical express was pulling up. Lia RAN to me and gave me the biggest hug. FRUMP FRIENDS REUNITED even though we have only met each other once before. EEEEEP YAY! I gave Lee-Anne a hug hello too! I felt like I knew her because of Lia's #StuckInDisney trip report. YAY FOR THE GIRLS TRIP TO BEGIN!
We went right to our room and Lia was SO EXCITED. I have never seen someone be SO HAPPY to be in Disney. Disney is still beyond magical to me but I don't get that rush of joy that I used to get when I would initially arrive on a trip. Granted, when I move back home and come back to Disney I am sure that'll happen again, but I was definitely lacking a little luster at this point! Lia's excitement would just have to renew my energy!
We got to our adorable little room at Port! SOMEBODY'S EXCITED.
We turned on Stacey and just basked in her greatness. I could listen to her ALL DAY EVERY DAY. The queen just never gets old.
I also had the wonderful pleasure of meeting HULA TIMON! It's about time that guy entered my life!
Then we all spent some time getting ready and prepping for our Flower and Garden excursions!
Time to go, time to go!
We left the resort and headed over to the parking lot. Lia was like, "where's Brooke!?" I love that she remembered my car's name. She's great. We sat in the car for a while because we had to figure out what Chase Bank was closest so Lia could take out the cash for her park tickets. We found one and it was about 10-15 minutes away from Port, but it was MIRACULOUSLY 5 minutes from Disney University, which is where I had to go to buy the tickets.
Once Lia took out her money, I went to DU and bought the park tickets. Then we were on our way to Epcot!
I figured I would park at the Contemporary so we would be able to come back to my car right after my Chef Mickey's reservation, so we took the monorail right over to Epcot from there! First we were in the Iron Man 3 monorail and then we were in the Monster's University Monorail right after that. Talk about the most epic monorail combo EVER!
We arrived at Epcot and Lia was squealing. Her and LeeAnne were so excited to see all of the flowers! They were finally here!
The first thing we did when we got to Epcot was take a few photopass pictures!
Then we went to the Phineas and Ferb topiary and met up with Mark! He had been solo traveling Magic Kingdom and Epcot all day so it was finally time for us to join him!
The first thing we did was go to Club Cool because Lia wanted some of the watermelon pop from China. I had never had it before but it was pretty good! I don't drink pop like... at all. But I thought I'd give it a whirl.
Then we headed right to the World Showcase because we had to hit up the Flower and Garden booths! We went the Mexico way! Lia started with the watermelon salad and she LOVED it.
I got the pork taco. The only thing that I had eaten all day was a yogurt for breakfast, so it was about time I had some sustenance! It tasted very yummy!
Then we went to China and I got the spring pancake. All of Mark's roommates were obsessed with it and I knew I needed to try it before the festival was over, so I made it happen. It was REALLY good but it was very big. I was pretty much full after I ate that.
From there we kept going through all of the countries. We stopped in America for quite a while so Lia and Lee-Anne could have the god-like creation of the Rocky Road Brownie Mousse. I was too full to eat it but they enjoyed it very much. It felt really good to sit in the shade. I was exhausted.
Then we kept walking and Mark and I grabbed Frushi in Japan! I am seriously going to miss that stuff SO MUCH. I will never get tired of frushi. I wish it would become a permanent menu item somewhere.
Lia got a Kaki Gori which is something I SERIOUSLY have to get sometime. I just never remember to get it and by the time I get to Japan I am always full!
Then we walked and got ourselves some Violet Lemonade. Lia's skirt matched the lemonade so obviously she planned very accordingly. I was proud.
We sat for a while and then realized it was a designated smoking area, so then we moved over to near the Port of Entry store. Lo and behold, guess who walked out of work but LAUREN! We didn't know if we were going to see each other at all before we left and thank God we just ran into each other at Epcot. Ahh I was so excited.
Lauren told us how she CASUALLY SERVED JOHN STAMOS A COKE THE OTHER DAY. Like, WHAT!!?!?! Food and Beverage perks, obviously. She said that she touched his hand when she handed him his change and he let her keep his receipt. *FANGIRLING SO MUCH RIGHT NOW OMG*
We took a few pictures and then said goodbye. Lauren was heading home on Friday. I can't believe how fast her program went. ):
We are such pretty friends.
Then it was time to head out of the park! We got on the monorail and went over to Magic Kingdom!
Our main mission was to meet the princesses in Town Square Theatre tonight, so that's what we did! We got into the princess room at 7 pm and met Cinderella first! She was lovely and she told Lia she looked like Rapunzel. Those flowers in the blonde hair really do the trick!
Aurora was next and this was the first time Lia and Lee-Anne saw her new dress in person!
