Disney Collection/Suite

Has anyone had luck either with an upgrade to a suite or being able to pay the difference in cash to stay in a suite in a Disney Collection hotel while staying on Points? I know you are not suppose to beable to do this but someone mentioned that sometimes you are lucky. Any lucky DVC'ers out there?

I was told that you could "upgrade" when you checked in, based on availability. For me, when planning, I need to know alittle more in advance.
