I just tried to use our DVC points to reserve a camp site at FW. Because we are w/in the last 4 months of our use year I couldn't make a reservation. Has anyone had any success in getting around that policy?
Become Jim Lewis' best friend? They aren't going to let you around that rule because they have to sell those points to recover the cost of the camp site. You're too late to make that reservation.
Another question. Can another DVC member (with a different use year) make reservations for us and then we transfer our points to them for their use? Is that a legit way around the Rule of 4?

Yes, that would work. If you can find someone willing to accept a transfer in lieu of a cash rental you could get the stay you want. The "if" is the key to that scenario though.
As long as you make the Disney Collection reservation prior to the last 4 months of your Use Year, you can stay during that timeframe. DVC members just can't make a reservation and stay at one of those options all during the last 4 months.
