I was just wondering if you guys liked collecting anything on your trips to the world. I can remember when i was little my mother would let us each pick up one statue every year we went down. My father gets new shot glass every time we visit. I read on one of the trip reports about someone who goes into mexico in EPCOT and gets on of those hand painted animals before it's painted and has it sent back to the room once the artist is done and opens it once they get home. I am looking for a new tradition to start on my trip down this august. any ideas?

I started collecting Disney Pins a few years ago with my brother! Its really fun!

I collect and trade Disney Pins, which is really fun, though sometimes it becomes more of a collecting thing since some pins I won't bear to part with, but it does give a discount when buying cheap pins :goodvibes I also like keeping my room keys, park tickets, dining cards, etc. I've also kinda started collecting the refillable mugs for some reason.

I collected the pennies. You know the ones with the designs on them? Back when every park had one in every section. I love those things :D

I have all my park maps, room keys, autograph books, and wrist bands from MNSSHP. I just like to look at them sometimes. (: I have a bunch of ear hats in my room, too.

I do that too! I always make sure I pack lots of pennies and quarters before I leave for any Disney vacation lol.

Awesome!! I have one from my third trip in 1996 its has the original mickey on it :D Its sooo cool, I've never seen it anywhere else. do you have any special ones? My fave. out of all is my Ariel ones, I have like 6 different types

Hmm... pressed pennies, pins, resort soaps and shampoos, incomplete autograph books, and mugs, oh yes mugs. Not resort ones, ceramic mugs. The world has the best selection ever and we always manage to cram about 10k in our suitcase. Ah yes, we basically only have Disney mugs at our house.

i have been collecting Disney Pins for about 10 years now. i have also kept a few room keys, park tickets, maps in Spanish, pressed pennies, stuffed animals, the little figures you get in the bags at once upon a toy, Vinylmation, and autograph books :)

I love collecting pennies!!!!! i forgot all about them, they are in a box somewhere from the last time i went. thanks for reminding me guys :woohoo:

I collect my unused fastpasses, my park tickets, autograph books (i don't really get autographs anymore, i usually will get pics though;)) and i also like to collect the vinylmations, pennies and other little stuff.

One tradition i do is that i buy a different one of these little cat figures in china every year.

And of course, pins!♥ I just finished off my fourth lanyard!!:D

I have and collected pins, have all of my souvineirs, room keys and vinylmations. I also have a few ear hats.

Gotta love the ear hats. I have the ones from the millenium, cause I celebrated it in disney. I love it :D

My room is just Disney Appreciation Room and I have tons of Disney stuff so I kinda just collect Disney stuff in general..
But I love getting pressed pennies, old tickets, bags, jewellery, stationary..; I used to collect money boxes and jewellery boxes when I was younger and if it counts I take billions of photos so I guess I collect photos too. I have a few pins but I don't get them to collect or trade them I'll just buy one now and again if I think it's cool..

So I just graduated college with a degree in Early Childhood Education. When I get a job I want to decorate my room in Disney. I was thinking posters? Has anyone ever saw any in WDW? We are going at the end of June. I was thinking that might be a start.

Depends on who you want on the posters. Princesses, Pirates, and the very popular movies are all over the MK and DTD. The Villians are avaliable in the WOD and in DHS. It all depends on what you want. Look for the areas where the rides are and you'll find posters of the characters there. Does that help?

Thanks! :) I'm not sure what I'll do yet. I'm thinking just a mixture of all things disney. I don't wanna just go princess (which would be fine with me lol) because of the boys and I don't wanna go all boyish because of the girls. :)

How early are you teaching? I can give some suggestions if you want them. I work with 5-10 year olds for team requirements and so I see all the posters and toys they have for their lockers.

I collected:
- pressed pennies (so cool & other theme parks usually do it as well)
- pins
- stuffed animals (themed for a ride/event/park/etc.)
- flags (you can buy a flag based on the country you are in at EPCOT. it's inexpensive.)
- maps
