Dear All,

I did not know the best place to post this (for some reason discount board would not load), but as the "club director" for our Company, I received word from Disney today that the Disney Club would be discontinued as of December 2003. They will only process new memberships through December 2002.

They did not explain any of the rationale, but advised me to destroy all promotional materials, or links to their site if they were on our web site.

It is sad for me to see something that was once of some value, and was originally free for our employees, then offered for a fee, and now discontinued.

IMHO, if Disney is in some trouble with tourism business, now is NOT the time to take more away that may have in a small way encouraged people to visit - and some very loyal people at that.

Oh well, I still have my DVC discount at the Disney store - or will I?

Figures. I just signed up a month or so ago. I sign up for stuff and then they decide to discontinue.

Aha! It is all your fault, Browneyes!!!!!!!!:D :D :D

Maybe TDS will figure out how to process the 10% DVC discount there when the Disney Club ends. I always use the Disney Club since my DVC card has no bar code!!!!!!!

The word on the street, is that they are discontinuing because of the new Disney Visa card that will be out sometime next year.

That is good information. My sources tell me that the affinity agreement for the new credit card is a strong one and is built as a customer loyalty program. No real need for the Disney Club then (at least that is the argument).
