Disney Club discounts at DL Hotels

Are Disney Club discounts available at the DL hotels? If so, what kind of discounts are usually available? Is there a "value season" "peak season" and "regular season" as there are in WDW? Do you call the hotel directly? Are there blackout periods? Planning a trip for next August and just trying to get the most bang for my buck! As a WDW regular and AP holder, I'm accustomed to getting some good deals at the deluxe hotels and am trying to accomplish the same in DL.

I just answered another post about this...

Unfortunately, I think most people here will agree that discounts at DL are a lot harder to come by than WDW. Your best bet is probably AAA or DC. I think it's a straight 10% off room portion of packages only, regardless of season. (DU informed me that DL no longer discounts room only.)

To give you an idea, I'm going the second week of October, for 3 nights. My total (thru DU w/ DC discount) for a theme park view at the Grand Californian, Resort Magic Package, is $1160.

It includes:
3 nights theme park view
2 adult park hoppers for 3 days
2 resort breakfasts (I paid $22 extra to upgrade to this-it normally comes with a counter service park breakfast)
$10 ESPN game card
I think it comes with lanyards and pins for each of us, plus some other things.

For the same package with a standard view, minus the resort brekfast, it would've been $994 total for 2 adults.

It's a splurge, but we deserve it since we didn't go on a "real" vacation last year.

One more thing...

I thought I read a recent post that expedia (?) had some discounted rates at DL and PP, but not GC. I'm not sure what dates though.
