I have a friend who is planning to stay at ASMo from September 29-October 5 and she's traveling on a really tight budget. She does not have a Disney Club card, but would consider purchasing membership if there are discounts available at her resort during that time that would more than offset the cost of membership. (She's only going to get a 3 day pass, so she wouldn't make the cost of membership up on the tickets.) I called and made the resort reservations for her yesterday, and when I talked with a really nice CM in CRO, I asked if there were any Disney Club discounts available during that time at ASMo. She said that without a valid membership number, she couldn't tell me whether a room would be available with a discount. (I am not a member of the Disney Club.) All she could say was that rooms *could* be discounted up to 20%, which I already knew. I was more concerned about availability since I know it can be somewhat limited.

Could anyone who is a member of the Disney Club tell me if they've recently been able to get Disney Club discounts on rooms at ASMo during the time frame I'm looking at?

Any help would be appreciated - you guys are great!

Check out the discount page. If it is not there check out discounts with mousesavers.com or dreams.

I think the Disney Club card is worth it. I spend so much money at the Disney store and shopping online that I got it for that alone. We are going to use the Disney Club card for discount in July at the Grand Floridian. We went through Dreams. They are the BEST!!!!!!!

I am a DC member and I have called and checked availability for Sept. 18-24 for myself at the All Stars. There are rooms available for the rate of $62 a night. Since Sept./Oct. is not a busy time, it will not fill up as fast as other times of year. I think you will be very safe in buying a DC membership and making a reservation for the fall now

BTW, you just missed a $10 off new DC membership special, it ended 2/15 :(

I used the code HGEM last night and got the rate for 29.95, I hope this helps!!

mrsmom, you about gave me heart failure there for a minute - LOL! At first I thought you meant if you use that code that you could get the room for $29.95. I'm so used to those codes being associated with rooms and packages. I was so excited that I was about to book a room myself! Then I realized you meant the code was for a discount on the Disney Club membership. Darn, I was really excited there for a moment or two. I got the $49 deal on the All Stars last August and I was thrilled with that, but wouldn't this have a been a great one?
Oh well, we can keep dreaming.....

Thanks everyone for your responses. I'll let my friend know that it sounds like she should certainly consider getting the membership.

We're going almost the exact dates as your friend...9/29-10/4. I made ressies last month with DC membership and got ASMovies for $69/night (including tax). Since there are 12 of us (3 rooms for 5 nights) it more than offset the cost of the membership. I wouldn't wait, though. I think everyone is under the impression that discounted rooms are readily available, but it appears from several posts here that WDW is not hurting as much as last fall.
