If you belong to the Disney Club does that give you any discounts on board?
Thanks!

mattall....check out Important #6 and it will explain everything. I believe that it states that you qualify for a $50 credit but you cannot combine it with any other offers, rebates, etc. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Luckymommy is correct. :)

And no, there are no discounts on merchandise on the ship with the DC card.

Yeah shucks .... can't combine the Disney Club $50 onboard credit with other discounts and such. We're getting discounted rate and I asked about the DC credit and was told we couldn't do it. Gosh darn ... Oh well! I got a nice price anyway. :)

Paulmc,

When did you ask and what is the "discount" for? We booked our cruise for next June in July and at that time the Disney Club onboard credit was not in effect for next year.

It has since been reinstituted - within the last couple of weeks - and based on seeing that info on the boards here I called DCL. It has been added to our reservation. The only thing I need to do is call them again when our new card comes so they can technically enter the new expiration date.

As for combining with other discounts - we have an early booking discount. Initially I also thought we had a Castaway Club discount but since fellow boarders assure me such a thing doesn't exist I must have just hit a lucky additional reduction between getting a quote on the web and calling CC. Anyway, the early booking wasn't considered a non-combinable (is that a word? probably not!)

I'd call and check.

We're getting a military discount that was available for certain cruises this year. I booked the cruise through DCL and then transferred it to Dreams Unlimited when I found out they could take it and give me the same discount AND the $50 rebate on top of it. I asked Donna at DU about the Disney Club onboard credit and she checked into it for me. Unfortunately with the disount we're getting we could not get the DC onboard credit as well. But we are getting one very good discount. :)

When we cruised a few weeks ago, I had added the Disney Club $50 onboard credit onto my reservation. When we got onboard we were told that because we were sailing with AAA (at the regular AAA rate but part of the AAA group) we were ineligible to receive the credit. As far as I can tell, the Disney Club Card is TOTALLY useless on a Disney Cruise!!! I would NOT get it again. If you are going to WDW or DL and want to use it for the small breaks you get on some food and recreation, go for it, but if you are thinking of getting it for the cruise..... DO NOT BOTHER!

Quite frankly I have my Disney Club card primarily for the shopping discount through the stores, catalog and online. It MORE than pays for itself each year that way.
