Disney chicken nuggets...

So, it turns out my outrageously picky 4 year-old loves the chicken nuggets at Disney. Her trying and liking them were a pretty big deal. But now she won't touch another nugget because it's not like the ones at Disney. I admit, the frozen Tyson chicken nuggets I just bought look and taste nothing like the ones we got on vacation.

Does anyone here know what kind of batter they use? Crazy question, I know. But we've tried to make them with flour, egg and 4C breadcrumbs and the coating is just not the same. It's a mystery to me what's on the outside of that chicken.

I personally have never had their chicken nuggets. However, I have contacted Disney before for recipes and been given some of them. So this might be your best option. I did so using the contact us link at the bottom of the Disneyworld.com page. Maybe they will be able to either give you a recipe or a vendor name.

I haven't tried the nuggets yet. I was disappointed when they changed the chicken strips, which I really liked despite not normally being a fan of chicken strips, to nuggets. Now I'm going to have to try them to see if I agree with LillyBelle's DD, LOL.

Oh, trust me - LillyBelle's DD knows her stuffs!!!!! The chicken "nuggets" are WONDERFUL. I never had the strips but my 2 kids all but lived on them last year, and this year when they were switched to "nuggets" they couldn't tell the difference in taste, just shape.

Have always LOVED the strips. Have they been replaced with nuggets at the buffets like Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace?

We were there last week, and I had a bite of one of my son's and I thought it tasted a lot liket he chicken nuggets you get from Wendy's. Not positive, so you may want to try that out yourself, but if they are alike, maybe you could find the recipe easier from them?? Good luck!

Yup, that's the same coating from the strips. Looking forward to trying them. Looks like I'll need to eat a lot more nuggets to fill up, LOL!

I had a really bad night with my daughter. She asked for the frozen Tyson nuggets (as she saw my son happily eating his), poured ketchup over them and then refused to eat them. I lost it. I'm just sooo tired of my kid's picky eating habits. I told her I wasn't a short order cook and she was going to eat what I gave her. She started gagging and threw up. omg. Over some nuggets that didn't taste exactly like the ones at Disney? You'd think I was poisoning her.

Yes, the ones my daughter loved were the ones that had a lot of breading on the outside. She ate them almost every night at Hurricane Hannah's (Beach Club resort).

Well should you ever want to attempt to try to make your DD nuggets again....you could try Panko bread crumbs (Japanese bread crumbs). They will give a much crunchier texture to the nugget.

IDK if this will help or not but I saw a commercial last night for Tyson crispy chicken strips and they resembled WDW chicken strips (which are now nuggets). I immediately thought of you! Maybe give them a try?

Yup those are the ones Disney serves. I buy them all the time and had them last week at many buffets at wdw
