Disney Chase Visa

I have the Chase DIsney Visa card. We are going to DIsney & the Cruise end of September and I have plenty of points on my card that I would like to get put on a gift card to use as spending money. I have some questions as I have never used it before.

1. How long does it take for the gift card to come once I order it?

2. Where do I go to order the GC?

3. Does it keep track automatically how much is left on the card?

4. Are there any restrictions for using it? Such as only certain places?

5. Can I use it on the cruise?

Any other tips to help me get going on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for all tips.

Sorry I can't answer all your questions. But I can tell you that you may get more respones if you post in the "cruise" section of the board. Many people that are regular "cruisers" are certain to have a Disney Visa and can guide you.

We have the Visa but don't cruise. We don't order ours before our trip. We pick up our gift card at guest services at the park (any of them). Basically you tell the CM working in GS that you wish to redeem your points and they give you a card with a number to call and activate it.
All you need is your Visa with you, call the number and they activate the gift card in your hand.

The gift card works like any other gift card...basically it is cash. As you spend it the amount decreases until nothing is left.

Hopefully that helps to some degree.

I would imagine that you would be able to get your card on the boat...but not sure.

I know at Disney World, you can go to Customer Service and they will put your reward points on a card right there for you (will call Disney Visa with you there to answer questions).

If you order your GC now - you can always call Disney Visa and have any remaining dollars added to that card right before you leave on the trip - or while on the trip I'm sure. Also ask them where you are able to use the card on your cruise.

The rewards card is not just a Disney gift card. It is a reloadable card that holds the points you have earned and transfered to the card.

Order the card on the Disney Chase Visa site. I think it took a week or two to come in. Then the day or so before your trip you can go back on the site and add any more points you've earned since you got the card sent.

Some guest services will allow you to add points while on your trip. One is in DTD. We never did that but checked into it while we were there.

The web site also should list where it can be used. Like the PP I have not done the cruise with it so I cannot say how they handle it on the ships.

Everyone seems to want to wait until the last minute to get the card. Since you can load more points on the card after you get it there is no reason to wait.

You can call the number on the card to add more points. No need to go to guest services. Our billing cycle closed in the middle of one of our trips and I called and added points while standing at the MK bus stop at POP. It is all automated, simple and fast. The only time you would have to go to guest services is if you are getting your card there instead of ordering one before your trip OR if your card gets lost or stolen and you need to get it replaced.

You can use it toward your bill at the end of your cuise.this is what we did.

I've placed my answers to your questions above. Plus, once you have a log in for our Chase Disney VISA card--you can access everything you need for the Rewards card via the Chase site. We've had a Disney VISA for many years and have been happy with it.

one thing i'm not sure was pointed out is that it is not a disney gift card. it is a "Dream Rewards Redemption Card" and it has an expiration date. Any points on the card when it expires are lost. Someone else posted the link, it'll have all the details on it, but just keep in mind it acts like a Disney gift card but is not a GC. you can reload the card until it expires (you should have at least a year), and then you just order a new one.

with that said, i've never had a problem spending all my points on the card while in Disney so I haven't had the card expiry issue in fact, last year we were on the trip when the statement period ended, so i called Chase a nice rep transferred all my new points to the card while I was on the phone.

Thanks for all the tips. I just don't want to get there and have a problem and then no extra funds to treat the kids with. I have close to $1200 and was thinking about transferring over atleast 500-700 so we can really splurge. I will go check out the website and see if I can find any restrictions.
