Disney charged me even though I cancelled my ADR's

Was in Florida for 24 days in August. We had made lots of reservations but after the first two were so disappointing we cancelled the rest. Thankfully I have all the confirmation emails but have just got my credit card statement and I have been charged $30 twice by WDW. I had to call my credit card company they said the charge is for the dining plan. As there are three of us and its a $10 cancellation I can only assume that this relates to two of our ADRs. I have never had a charge before and I have checked my email and there is no email from Disney confirming that they have charged me. I will of course contact them but just wondered if anyone had similar situation and best email to contact. I have no idea which reservations they were for but I know I double checked mydisneyexperience.com while O was there and showed no outstanding reservations.
Thanks

Where did you eat your first two meals that were disappointing?

Maybe you didnt cancel your following adrs with enough time to spare?

I agree with the previous poster, the fact that you were charged $30 each time does suggest that it is the $10 per person charge. Did you have any where you were within the 24-hour cancellation period?

If not, then make sure to send Disney guest relations a copy of all your cancellation confirmations and ask them to refund the erroneous charges.

Definitely all cancelled in time and have email confirmations.

We ate at Crystal Palace which use to be our favourite restaurant. We have eaten there at least once on all our 11 trips. Maybe we went on an off day but food was not replaced and seemed of a lesser standard than previous years, drinks weren't forth coming, gave up on tigger in the end despite being told 4 times he would be there any minute. I will give it another try but at over $100 for 3 of us it was expensive air conditioning! Also Rose and Crown. Again use to love it. Chips still delicious but small portions and fish was so small and it all seemed very rushed. Again very expensive and we had immediately wished we had just gone to the counter service at less than half the price.
I just began to think that there were far nicer restaurants off site which were also far cheaper. We ended up eating in some great places so we were glad we made decision to cancel. A little disappointed that Disney charged me but pretty sure they will sort it out as I do have all the cancellation emails. I'll post on how I get on.

We had an unfortunate incident to cancel within the day due to an illness, and was charged $10 per person at the Concierge desk.
A revisit to Concierge (seeing a manager this time) got the money refunded together with an apology due to the circumstances.
I understand that this was introduced to penalise the minority, who booked multiple ADR's on the same day which some end in no-shows.
My argument was to check all of my ADR's for the past 4 years, to show that only one is ever booked per day, and this was a genuine case.
(Google Drive is a wonderful thing to keep your past records on! :rotfl2:)

this is why DD has decided not to make any ADRs for her upcoming trip.

there is no way to know what condition her husband will be in at any given time. When he has to leave the park (due to his condition), he has to leave.
So they might end up being a no show. She doesn't want to deal with the possibility of fines, so she's going to try for walk ups.
She said she knows it's a risk, but she doesn't want to feel the pressure of worrying about the cancellations when she's on vacation.

There was an email from Disney waiting for me this morning with a confirmation of a full refund.

Well done Disney. I dont think I doubted they wold sort it out.

Glad that Disney came through for you :thumbsup2

I had to call to cancel my reservations less than 24 hours out, it couldn't be done online.

It wasn't my fault though - at my 180 day mark, the restaurants i had actually booked appeared twice in my MDE - once for our dates in September and once for the day I axtually made the booking!! I had to call a CM to explain that I was in the UK and wouldn't be needing five dining reservations that evening lol.
