Disney Channel Games Will Be GREAT in '08!

Yes that is to get the concert ticket. I'm pretty sure you can come and go as you please during that week to watch the games. You only need to sign up if you are wanting to be an "extra" and to get the concert ticket. If anyone out there can confirm this or give better details please do.

I would like to know if anyone knows if passholders can get more than the one ticket per pass? I have a friend and her 2 DD's that would like to do this with us this year but they are not passholders and I have no idea how she can do that without being a passholder. Is there other ways to get tickets for the concert and to audience members? Thanks, Becky

No announcements have been made about how this year's games will be held,so there may or may not be a Passholder promotion,DCG Concert,etc.Last year's Games seemed to be very successful,so I would think everything would be similar this year,but there is really no way to know at this point.LAST YEAR,anyone could attend the tapings without a ticket.There was PLENTY of room,because the Florida schools were still in session and the tapings were during school hours.I think if the Florida schools were not in session,it would have been CROWDED!!!!!The benefit of the Passholder taping ticket was to receive concert tickets.IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY,you could bring three guests with each Annual Pass to the tapings and receive four DCG Concert tickets at the end of the taping session.I am not sure how the General Public DCG Concert tickets were distributed because I did not even know about the DCG until a few weeks before my already scheduled WDW trip,but I understand they went FAST.I would think they went mostly to local Floridians because it was on Friday night and not during school hours so there was no conflict with school.

I am not currently an AP holder but had been considering it. This added benefit may help me make my decision! This would be an awesome surprise for my 12-year-old DD. She had hip surgery last year and has 2 more surgeries to undergo to correct a condition she was born with. This would just be a great thing for her to experience in between surgery/recovery times!

So basically, admission to the taping is 'free' you just have to 'work' while you are there? AND you get to meet some of the Disney Channel Kids?

Yes.I was able to get autographs from some of the Disney Channel Stars for my niece.None of the "big names" were there though-I ONLY got autographs from Mitchell Musso,Kyle Massey,Monique Coleman,Sabrina Bryan,Kiely Williams,Adrienne Bailon,Jason Earles,Jason Dolley,Emily Osment,Corbin Bleu,Dylan Sprouse,Cole Sprouse,Madison Pettis,etc. Oh yeah,I also got an autograph from some girl I had never heard of-I believe her name was Miley Cyrus.

The Disney Channel Games Annual Passholder promotion that is being referenced was for LAST year's Disney Channel Games.The only information that has been released so far,to my knowledge,is that the DCG are returning to WDW in 2008 and they will be held April 28-May 3.IF there is a similar Passholder promotion for 2008,I would not expect it to be announced for quite some time,possibly as late as late March/early April,but that is STRICTLY a guess.

I just wanted to clarify what "meeting" the DCG Stars means.There was NO organized autograph session or "meet and greet" per se.As the Stars were going onto and leaving the field where the events were taped,sometimes they would come over to the stands and sign some autographs.There were also some other areas away from the field where they would sometimes sign autographs as they went to eat lunch,etc.The amount of autographs you could get was really determined by how much time you wanted to put into it.If you happen to stay at one of the WDW resorts where the DCG Stars are also staying,you will probably see them quite a bit,but I think most most people staying at one of those resorts tried to respect their privacy there as much as possible,because when they were at their resort they were just Guests like you and me and were not "working" like they were at Wide World of Sports.There is also a chance you will see some of the Stars out in the parks.I saw Kyle Massey one night just hanging out in Tomorrowland and Miley Cyrus one night in Epcot as she was being escorted to a DCG press event.Even though there was no organized autograph session,it was so much fun to watch everyone scream at the Stars and ask them to come sign autographs.

I have been debating getting an AP for a trip we're planning in November in the hopes of getting a discounted room (still not one of the few to get a PIN code!) and the DDE 20% card. Still undecided but if there is a chance AP holders will be offered the opportunity to 'work' the DCG the AP would be worth it!

I would love to surprise me 12-year-old with this trip! She's in the middle of multiple surgeries to correct a hip condition she was born with and this would be great 'therapy' while waiting for her next surgery!

We did this last year and "worked" 4 days. My kids loved every single sweaty second of it. It was HOT and at times I was miserable... until I looked at their bright smiling faces and then I had to admit it was totally worth it! Are you an AP holder? Is that how you get the wristbands? Is it still worth going even if you are not an AP holder? Looking at some pics that were below yours on the other post, it didn't look very crowded at all!!

So, are you planning on going this year?

We were "hired" to come be part of the audience and our "pay" was a free ticket into any Disney park per person per day worked... the kids thought they had hit the motherload LOL

Sounds like a wonderful form of 'payment' to me!! How did you get 'hired' last year?

I had told my daughter if we go, we would just be there for the games and that we wouldn't be able to go to the parks as we are planning a trip in November 08. She would be thrilled to be there just to watch the games - a ticket to the parks for 'working' would be a great added bonus!!

It didn't look too crowded. What did you actually do when you 'worked?' I saw people outside of the fence. Were they just observers and the 'workers' were inside the fence? Sorry for all the questions, I want to be sure it is worth our time to make the long trip down there.

I read through the old posts from last year and saw the comments about some not so nice DC kids. How disappointing!!

We were the audience... had to wait a lot and watch and clap etc... they only had one section full per shift per day so it was not crowded at all... many of the DC stars just came out and walked among the kids and signed autographs and took pics.. some stayed behind the gates and signed and posed with the kids from a distance and others the kids never got close to... it was a LONG HOT day but in hindsight was totally worth it just for the thrill for the kids...

Information is NOW available for the 2008 Disney Channel Games at www.DisneyChannelGames.com The "unofficial" dates released in January were right-on-the-money except the Games begin on April 29 instead of April28. DCG Concert tickets are now available for request by Passholders at the Passholder website and will be available fo request by the General Public beginning March 25.Hope to see you at the Games!
