Disney Channel Games 2008???

Hey Hal,
I know last year some people brought coolers with drinks and snacks into the stadium, do you know if that is allowed this year? Some of us can't afford Disney prices! :) Thanks.
-Sarah

HAL'S NOTE: Disney says no coolers are allowed in the stadium except for medical reasons.

Man that really stinks! Now, I am going to have to find money for over priced concessions!

I assume no big coolers would be allowed but I have no problem putting a lunch sack with a freezer pack in my backpack! :) It'll hold at least (2) drinks, sandwich and a couple of snacks.

I thought I had seen where parking was free at WWOS. We are putting our cooler in the trunk! Waiting for the team list to drop this week so we can align ourselves w/our Jonas counterparts :)

Parking was free last year, and it wasn't that bad. Then again I got there at 8:30 and DC Games wasn't really publicized except on the secret-ish site, and the AP site, so there weren't many people there.

Could anyone please tell me what we can expect at the WWOS for the taping? What time should we plan to arrive. We've never been there at all, so where do we go when we arrive (either by Disney bus or taxi)? Does each team go in a different area of the stadium? So, if you stand in one area, you're only going to see stars on that particular team? Where is the food/drinks in relation to the taping? Sorry for all the questions, but we're going in blind!

Don't worry - you aren't the only one! I've never been either, to this event and to this venue. I'm all for getting there at 8 am for the concert and hanging out all day but the others coming with me aren't so into that sort of thing. lol So I'm unsure as to what I'm doing at this point. UGH! I should have only requested two tickets.
:goodvibes
Sorry for all the questions, but we're going in blind!

Hey this is DeAnna4140's DD12!
I was just wondering when did they announce th winners last year?

Thank You!!!!!

The tapings are long, and boring, but fun at the same time. You have to make your own fun during the downtime, because the stars are usually off the field and the crew is just setting up. Sometimes it takes an hour, some times a half an hour. You can arrive anytime throughout the day, I don't think it will ever reach maximum capacity. The games are from 10AM to 7PM so that's a large window for you to choose from.

I have no idea about the taxi/bus thing, since I have only driven there.

All the teams or players playing at the time usually hang together around the field (usually where ever the shade is). Standing in any particular area doesn't promise much, the stars go everywhere.

And the concession stand is right in the back of the stadium. If you are sitting in a seat, it's behind you, if you're just walking in it's like right to your left. You'll see it, don't worry.

I went on the last day of filming last year, and I didn't stay the whole time, but I don't think we'll know winners until they air it on TV, since they take online voting and game scores into account for the winning team too.

Looks like we're out of luck:

"Are we allowed to bring food/drinks at all, in a purse or something? Or is that only for medical reasons too?
-Sarah

HAL'S NOTE: Here's what I'm told. No food/drink/coolers are permitted in the stadium. Concessions will be open for the guests."

are going to show up? Maybe we should stop posting about the darn thing. Maybe we should share horror stories! LOL

And....ACTION!

Man last year the DC Games were SOOO horrible!
It was HOT and I didn't meet ANYBODY!
Not a single autograph!

Boo DCGames, what a WASTE of TIME!

--End Scene--

And that the concessions at WWoS are horrendously expensive! :scared1:

Thanks for the good tips! Sarah, last year did you stay for the whole day of taping or just for a while?

Did you all see the comment on Hal's page when he reported the names Disney released as participating?

HAL'S NOTE: Those are the names so far. I'm told there could additions when the Disney Channel arrives in Orlando.

I will now cross my fingers and toes that we are lucky enough to get to see even more Disney stars!
