Disney Channel Games 2008???

My Mom has taken very ill and has had open heart surgery. If someone out there can point me in the right direction to have my tickets transfered to my best friend so she can pick them up I would greatly appreciate it. I'm not sure yet if I will be able to take my 2 DD's but I would hate for my BF and her girls to have to miss this. We were all supposed to go together and since I am a passholder I was able to get the tickets that we needed.

I'm not sure if any of the powers that be with the games is still over seeing this thread but if you are please email me and let me know what I can do about having someone else get these.

Thank You,
Becky

P.S. Please pray for my Mom!

Prayers go out to your mom. My dad just had open heart surgery in Feb. It is really scary. But it is amazing how quickly the human body starts healing itself. I was floored to know that they like to have the patient up on the side of the bed on the day after surgery and up and to a chair on the next. I was thinking, I must've been a big baby when I had my kids, because I didn't want to move from that bed! Anyway, not to make light of your situation. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Also, this is the address that I got an immediate response from a couple of days ago when asking about my dd's friend's tickets. They wanted me to take her with me to pick up but she requested the tickets in her name (a minor) and I wanted to know if it would even be possible for her to get them before I asked her mom if I could take her on a school night to Orlando. The person just asked me for her name and did not respond back as to whether or not she could actually get them. Now I am creeped out a little that I gave her name. Anyhow ...

and this is the one that came back to me when I asked a different question earlier in the month

Hope it helps.

I am so glad I found this!
I am trying to figure out the best plan of action for our day.
I have not told DD that I have planned this trip and that I will be getting tix for the DC Concert.

Can anyone who has been in the past give me an idea of what to expect?

WEDWDW is one of the best for info! :cheer2: This is from earlier.

In an earlier post from today,a poster who is going to the Disney Channel Games for the first time asked about what to expect at the 2008 Disney Channel Games.SarahV17 did an OUTSTANDING job of answering the poster's questions.I thought I would also share my thoughts and experiences and hope the information will be helpful. This post is intended for EVERYONE who will be going to the Disney Channel Games for the first time this year.My post is directed to the daily tapings.First of all,I knew NOTHING about the Disney Channel Games when I attended last year,so you guys are WAY ahead of the game.IF,and I emphasize IF,you go into Champion Stadium with "realistic expectations",you will have an AWESOME experience.By "realistic expectations" I mean that you WILL NOT have a private "meet and greet" with Miley Cyrus! You may see Miley Cyrus, you may not.You may get Miley Cyrus' autograph, you may not. That will be the case with all of the Stars. There WILL NOT be constant entertainment! It will not be like attending an NFL game, college football game,Major League baseball game, etc.where there is always something to watch. There will be times where "nothing is happening".NOW that I have HOPEFULLY brought your expectations in line with what the event has to offer, let me tell you that the experience FAR EXCEEDED what I thought it would be like!Think about it,if you are a Disney Channel fan(or someone in your family is)you would be excited to attend an event where you might possibly see ONE Disney Channel Star, right?Well at this event it will be theoretically possible for you to see OVER TWO DOZEN Disney Channel Stars plus the International Disney Channel Stars! This is THE EVENT of the year for Disney Channel fans! This is the ONLY time during the year when THIS MANY Disney Channel Stars will be in the same place at the same time!THIS IS THE EVENT OF THE YEAR,NOTHING ELSE IS CLOSE! If you are like me,it will really HIT you how special this event is when you "spot" your first Disney Channel Star. You will say:"Look! There is a Disney Channel Star! There is a Disney Channel Star RIGHT THERE!".The first Star I "spotted" was Kiely Williams and it was just like:Look over there! That is Kiely Williams! That is Kiely Williams RIGHT THERE!As far as how to pass the time between the "action" ALOT of people(except for SarahV17LOL )won't stay the entire nine hours so "boredom" should not be any problem at all if you are just staying for a few hours.I only stayed for three to four hours a day last year and never got "bored" in the least. There is enough "off and on" action on the field and, most importantly, enough "Star Sightings" to keep things "lively".If you are staying all day,one way to "take a break" without leaving Wide World of Sports would be to have Lunch at the All-Star Cafe.It is just a short walk directly across from Champion Stadium. It is strictly a "no-frills" counter service restaurant with basic sandwiches, etc, but it has a sports theme and has HUGE televisions showing sporting events. There are also concession stands in Champion Stadium as well as a merchandise shop,so you can get a snack or browse through the merchandise shop for a "break".Also Mr.Sanderson said in Hal's Blog that the video screens will probably be up again this year so that will give you something to look at.It has not been confirmed and this is just my SPECULATION,but after reading Mr.Sanderson's comments in Hal's Blog,I would be VERY surprised if the "grassy area" down the Third Base line is not open again this year. This is where everybody went last year to watch the games in the outfield. So,between "Star Sightings" and watching the games, time passes really well.As far as transportation, there is a Disney bus that goes from Disney's Hollywood Studios to Wide World of Sports. If you have a car that will be MUCH faster. To my knowledge, there is no charge to park at Wide World of Sports. As far as autographs go,the LONGER your arms are,the better chance you will have!LOL Sometimes you will be behind two or three rows of people and if you can hand whatever you want autographed over or around those rows, sometimes you can get an autograph.I never saw any really "awful" behavior by people trying to get autographs, but it is REALLY "everybody for themselves"!To give you an idea of what to expect concerning autographs,I will list autographs I got and where I got them.I am doing this from memory, but it should be mostly accurate.THE "RAIL" ON THE FIRST BASE SIDE OF THE INFIELD-Kyle Massey(super nice-the guy would stand there for "days" signing autographs),Sabrina Bryan,Adrienne Bailon,Monique Coleman,Moises Arias;ON OUR SIDE OF THE RAIL JUST WALKING UP THE STADIUM STEPS!-Kiely Williams;AT ONE OF THE CHAMPION STADIUM CONCESSION STANDS!-one of the Sprouse twins;AT THE "RAIL" IN "SHORT" RIGHT FIELD DURING THE DISNEY CHANNEL GAMES CONCERT-Nick Jonas,Joe Jonas,Kevin Jonas;AND FINALLY AT "UNNAMED LOCATION"-"drum roll please!"-MILEY CYRUS!,Emily Osment,Madison Petttis(adorable, she walked around holding her mother's hand )Jason Dolley,Mitchell Musso,Corbin Bleu,Arwin and Moesby(can't remember their "real" names LOL),other Sprouse twin,Jason Earles and Andrea Guasch(Disney Channel Star from Spain-INCREDIBLY NICE! ).I hope this information helps some of you first-timers in some way!HAVE A GREAT DCG 2008!

And so is SarahV17! :cheer2:

The tapings are long, and boring, but fun at the same time. You have to make your own fun during the downtime, because the stars are usually off the field and the crew is just setting up. Sometimes it takes an hour, some times a half an hour. You can arrive anytime throughout the day, I don't think it will ever reach maximum capacity. The games are from 10AM to 7PM so that's a large window for you to choose from.

I have no idea about the taxi/bus thing, since I have only driven there.

All the teams or players playing at the time usually hang together around the field (usually where ever the shade is). Standing in any particular area doesn't promise much, the stars go everywhere.

And the concession stand is right in the back of the stadium. If you are sitting in a seat, it's behind you, if you're just walking in it's like right to your left. You'll see it, don't worry.

For future reference pgs. 112 and 113

Thank you lovemy3youngens I was going to try to find those, but it would have taken me forever!

Thanks again

Okay, the news and information is just getting better and better, so here is my question. I plan on taking my daughter (8yrs) to the games, but am unsure what day might be "productive" for her. She is ready to take her guitar, books, magazines, etc for autographs LOL, so am thinking Monday (Opening day) or Tuesday? Is one better for possible autographs? WHAT is the best thing to bring FOR autographs? Since no cameras are allowed, can we not get pics?

She is soooo excited at the thought of getting an autograph from her favorite channel stars, I want to make this day a good one but have no desire to be the UHAUL mom. LOL. what to do? what to bring? what to sign? when to go? H E L P

I've tried to wade through this thread but can't find my question and the answer. But are camera's banned from all events and the concert. I can't easily "hide" mine either, it's a Canon DSLR, but I would love to take some photos since my Niece who we got the tickets for can't make it now. Can someone PM me, this thread is huge...lol =o)

There are several posts about how, in the Disney spirit, staff was fairly gracious about picture taking. However, your bag will be searched before entering the games and the concert and cameras are not allowed officially. Whether or not they will send you back to the car or not admit you IDK. My device for artistic renderings will be staying in the glove box.
Good luck!!!

An autograph book would be easiest, the stars have tons of people wanting their autograph and big object could get in the way and make people angry. I'd say stick with a small autograph book so that way you don't get tired of carrying it around and it's convienient for the stars.

SO I was going to pick up my concert tickets on Saturday..now I think Im not going till tuesday, can someone PLEASE!!!! pm me with anything special that is in the packet... the anticipation is KILLING ME!!!!!!

I LEAVE TOMORROW!!!! AHHH, I'm sooo excited! Sorry, just had to share with you all since I knew you'd understand!!

Has anyone ever been to the first day "Opening Ceremonies"?? Would it be better to go on Monday for that Or Tuesday? One of those days is when I can go:confused3

I'm starting to feel like I am in a perpetual echo. There are now 128 pages of the same info over and over and over because people don't want to bother to read what is there. The people going back to find and repost it are spending just as much time as it would take the people who would like the info to find it. Not pointing to anyone in particular but sheesh the same Q's over and over...

Where Did you get this info.
i dont know if this is already postd but heres some info.

MIley Cyrus is set to participate.

Here's the rest of the lineup confirmed to date: Joe Jonas, Kevin Jonas, Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, Alyson Stoner, Jasmine Richards, Anna Maria Perez and Roshon Fegen of "Camp Rock."
Jason Earles and Moises Arias of "Hannah Montana."

Adrienne Bailon, Kiely Williams, Sabrina Bryan and Kunal Sharma of "The Cheetah Girls One World."

David Henrie, Selena Gomez, Jake T. Austin and Jennifer Stone of "Wizards of Waverly Place."
Dylan Sprouse, Cole Sprouse and Brenda Song of "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody." (Brian Stepanek will serve as host.)

Kyle Massey and Jason Dolley of "Cory in the House."

There will be Disney Channel stars from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, Italy, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and Japan.
The games will be played 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on April 28, April 29 and May 1 at Disney's Wide World of Sports at the Walt Disney World Resort. The schedule for May 2 is still to be determined.

"We're inviting people to come and watch, but it's a working production," said Adam Sanderson, senior vice president of brand marketing for the Disney ABC Networks Group. "It's not staged as a sporting event."

He said there will be "plenty of seating" in the grandstand.

"We can't have regular kids on the field," Sanderson said. "The talent will be walking around, playing the games. I think we'll have some video screens again. They'll be able to see the talent, and the talent often comes over and signs autographs and takes photos."

The celebrities will play for charities: Boys & Girls Club, UNICEF, Make-A-Wish and Starlight Starbright.

Sanderson said the challenges this year will be visually bigger so they come across well on television. The games will air as five half-hour shows starting in late July.

"Everybody is out there to have fun," Sanderson said. "It makes for great programming. Our audience gets to see more of them as real people. It's cool that you get to see them out there being regular teens."

Peformances from a May 3 concert, which is sold out, will be incorporated in the half-hours.

Hello all - I edited my post because it came across very very negative before and I apologize to everyone. There is a LOT of information in these 128 pages - if you go back and look at some of the larger posts from WEDWDW and SarahV17 there is a ton of detail about how the games worked last year, where you could sit, go, who was there, what they would and wouldn't do etc. JoeD911 has had a lot of information about WHO is going to be there as well if you skim through those posts. I think we are all on the final countdown. People will start picking up tickets in TWO DAYS and we'll all have new info then!! :cool1:
I apologize again if my bad day translated to a negative vibe here. This has been the BEST community ever and I can't wait to get to WDW next week!

That information posted by Ashley and previously on the board was in Hal's blog in the Orlando Sentinel.
