My mom has some questions about a couple of things.I know I shouldn't worry about these questions now, but my mom wants to know haha.

-How can they make sure no one brings alcohol to their apartment that is underage?

-How can they make sure no one is sleeping over in someone's apartment that shouldn't?

-Is there a lock on the bedroom door just in case vistors come and you want to make sure your belongings like laptop is safe?

-How many closets are there per room?

**Thanks!!:) **

I think I can answer most of these. This is based on what I recall from DD's apartment at Vista. She's at Chatham now and I think it's pretty much the same.

1. They can't stop anyone from bringing it in, but they will send anyone there home if they get caught.

2. Not sure about this one...

3. I'm pretty sure there is a lock on the bedroom door but you also have a pretty decent sized locker. I'm pretty sure a laptop would fit in it. Also something to consider...DD took a foot locker that she put a padlock on.

4. There is a good sized closet for each bedroom. Basically each person gets their own closet rod, shelf above the rod, and their locker. There's plenty of space under the hanging clothes too, for shoes, etc.

I'll just add on a little...

1+2 are handled the same way. They do not monitor these things, roommates are responsible for keeping each other in check. If you know of inappropriate behavior then turn it in ASAP because if you don't, someone else turns them in, and it's shown that you know about the behavior then you're kicked out too.

Security does not go around looking for these things, they just take care of it if it's brought to their attention. My roommates and I started the first day with a meeting and said, "if you do anything wrong, we're turning you in" and we were fine. The only person who stayed over was good friends with everyone in the apartment (and a resident of our complex) so we all agreed it was fine.

3 - To be honest, I cannot remember if there was a lock, I'd assume not. We are not given keys to our bedroom and it would be really awful if one roommate went in and locked the other out. However, mathlady is right, there are lockers and my laptop fit in mine.

4 - There is only one closet, but it's a walk-in.

1. You can't.

2. You can't.

You just need to have a set rules with your roommates as soon as possible. I was in a 21+ apartment so my worries weren't too high, but I came straight out and told them if anyone did anything against the rules then I was going to inform the program. No one was going to ruin my experience. Luckily, everyone was on the same page in my apartment, and we were all (well, most of us) mature.

3. There is a lock on the door, but you have to be inside of it to lock it. I don't believe it is able to locked and then unlocked from the outside. Bring down a standard locker lock down because you will have one in your closet. I don't believe a locker would fit in there, though. You can get a laptop lock.

4. One closet per room. I lived in Chatham and I'm a girl with a sizeable clothing collection so it was a tight squeeze to share it with someone else. My first room roommate put her luggage on the shelves so that took up a lot of room.
