Hello,

I've been really annoyed and frustrated with car rental prices for my trip to WDW in September. I would really like to use Alamo again because I used them last year and they put an additional hold on your cc like most other companies used. So just for fun, I checked the prices to rent from the Disney car center and it's about $200 cheaper than the airport!

So I have some questions...if I book a car there, how can I get there to pick it up? I'm staying at Pop, do they have shuttles or anything, of do I have to take a taxi? And if I do this, I'll probably have to use the magical express to get from the airport to Pop, it's not too late for me to add this, is it?

Thank you, any info or help is greatly appreciated! :)

They will pick you up at your resort. You can do the same on return (get a ride back to your resort) or drop at the airport, Dolphin Resort, or Buena Vista Palace.

When you get to Pop, give the CCC a call and tell them when you want to get picked up. Check their hours operation. They open early, if you want to avoid a lineup (It is a small office.) I think they run until about 7 at night or so. They ask for a few hours' lead time.

They are prompt. No problems at all. To return the car, bring it to the CCC, and the shuttle will return you to your hotel.

If you are going in September, you have lots of time to sign up for Magical Express. I think they ask for about three weeks lead time, in order to get your luggage tags to you through the mail. But why not call early and get it all set up?

Have a good trip.

Thanks for the info! I'm definitely going to look into it now, because there is no way I'm paying almost $400 when I can get a car for almost $200 less!

If I book a car now, and for some reason prices drop at the airport location though, can I cancel and change my reservation? What about Magical Express if I sign up for that, can you cancel that as well if I end up not needing it?

Yep, the Disney CCC is way cheaper than the Airport. I'm going that route as well. Taking DME to the Resort and have them Shuttle me to the CCC and pick up a car and return it before it taking DME home. I also save about $200.00. I'm so frustrated with Rental prices right now that I think this is the best way to go.

I too am doing this. Staying at BCV and have a rental to pick up at the Dolphin. It makes more sense since I don't arrive til 8pm, I'll just walk over to the Dolphin the next morning to get the car. If a code does come out I'll just re-do my ressie.

I am doing this also. Saved around 250.00 off my rental. I couldn't believe the differance. :thumbsup2

I could not believe the difference either! SOOO happy I checked!

I have another question though...is it ok if you pick up the car from the CCC but drop it off at the aiport? I checked the price to do this, and it's the same as if I drop it off at the CCC, does that sound right, or are they going to charge me more to do that? I mean, I checked Alamo's website today and it's exactly the same price to drop it off at the CCC or the airport, so I'm assuming that is correct...anyone know or done this before?:confused3

There usually are no drop fees as long as you rent and return within the state of Florida. We have rented in Orlando and returned in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, MCO, etc.
