Disney cancelled my Fairy Tale Suite honeymoon reservation

We have a 3 room suite and an additional concierge room booked for November and we have not been notified of any cancellation.
If it's not one of the Signature Suites in the Adventure Tower you should be fine. The Signature Suites are specially decorated in themes and extremely pricey, with the exception of the Fairytale and Mickey Penthouse Suites which were pricey but smaller. https://allears.net/2023/05/02/disneyland-hotels-mind-blowing-signature-suites/

I don't see pricing information on that page, other than "you can expect to pay from $2,000 to $4,500 a night." And of course the Disneyland website won't reveal pricing unless you manage to choose a check-in date on which the room type you want is available. So where are folks finding pricing info for the Signature Suites?

got ya-I was reading that as the lounge would be under construction also which would change our plans. Thanks for the clarification 🙂

Ohhhhh, that makes me so sad to hear! I guess I understand to some extent--they probably do need to expand the lounge. But FTS was unique in that it was within the price range of people for whom any of the other signature suites were off limits due to the cost.

I'm glad I was able to stay there and enjoy what was a thoroughly wonderful experience without having to expend what it would have cost to stay in one of the larger Signature Suites.

Edited to add: that still doesn't let Disney off the hook for the late cancellation of the OP's honeymoon reservation with no offer of proper compensation. They didn't even let the OP know that the suite was being eliminated! This also could not have been a sudden decision, making the late notification to OP an especially disgraceful move.
Agree. The suite is gorgeous, and the price is about 1/3 of the other suites. The larger suites cost as much per night as a week-long vacation, a cruise, etc. It really is an shame. Also, I agree someone should have reached out to OP, especially given the occasion and the length of the booking.

Wait, how much was it? I was thinking it was priced like the other ones at ~$5k a night…

About $1500-1800/nt, as opposed to nearly $5k per night for the other (much larger) Signature Suites. It was $1300/nt when we stayed in 2018, and it also included VIP seating for one nighttime event (fireworks or Fantasmic), which is no longer included.

This may be true. Sounds like they are enlarging the club lounge by taking over what is now the Fairytale Suite. However, I would guess they will have an arrangement of some sort for a lounge. When they refurbished the one at GCH, I think they made a lounge out on the lawn or something?

Ack- Are they really getting ride of the Fairytale suite? I hadn't heard that yet. I was planning to stay there for my birthday in a few years.

I’m not buying this post, or the OPs story. I’m sorry.

But the fact that they have t come back for an update and that they were going to stay for two weeks and drop $70k to do so…
Nope.
I agree, though I don't think the FTS is that much. I thought it was something like $1700/night. I was figuring around $30k.

My fiancee and I first visited DLH for 6 nights over NYE this year (my first ever trip to DL and her first as an adult), and we stayed in a Downtown Disney view club-level room that had spectacular views of the fireworks shows and world of color. We live on Maui so we don’t get to see anything close to that production value here, and we like to make our trips longer since we have to fly so far to get there. We loved it so much that while we were still there we checked the availability for the Fairy Tale Suite that we had seen next to the club and were shocked that it was available over Christmas and NYE for this year, and we jumped right on that reservation and got the max length it would allow, thinking we could shorten it later if we decided to change plans. The total price (including 5 days of park tickets) was over $28,000, but totally worth it for a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon celebration. When we called back to get more info about the cancellation, the best they would offer was a 1-bedroom villa in the new DVC tower, and they gave no indication that the rooms would be demolished, only that they were being closed for renovation. The cast member even offered to keep checking availability for me to see when the room would be reopened next year, so I’m shocked to hear that they might be getting rid of it altogether.

In the end, we decided that none of the remaining available options at DL would be “honeymoon-worthy” for us, so we completely changed up our plans and will be visiting WDW instead, with a split stay at the new Polynesian tower and the Four Seasons. We’re incredibly disappointed that we don’t get to stay in the Fairy Tale Suite, since that was our dream location for our honeymoon, but if Disneyland Hotel doesn’t care about a guest who is willing to rent a signature suite for two weeks, we’ll gladly give our business to the Four Seasons instead for a way more luxurious stay for our honeymoon.
