disney canc'd my med cruise 3/9

I was going to ask the same.

You must be very disappointed about this - were there any options offered?

there is a long thread on the cruise part of the dis forum, good job I saw it, nearly fainted when I did.

someone had been contacted by their travel agent to say it had been cancelled because another company had bought out the whole cruise. :sad1:

do not think we can do a 7 night one and they will not help with 10/11 one. have to discuss with dh

they do seem to be messing about a lot with the MED cruises.

Who did you book with? I think it's appalling you had to find out from a discussion forum. You would think the company that happily took your deposit would feel slghtly obligated to let their passengers know immediately!

Not good PR!

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm booked through DISNEY

Well I am sure you are not going to be the only angry customer. Let's hope now that everyone who is upset actually gets pro-active and communicates this on no uncertain terms. I wonder if they hadn't filled the predicted capacity by this date :confused3

i have been looking at the prices and when looked before there were no inside rooms left - also disney have offer for 27th august date but never did for september

Oh that is poor service - hope an acceptable alternative is offered and something to make up for your disappointment.

they have offered to change to another 7 day cruise but for quite a few of us these dates are end july and august which is not convenient because of other holidays or work commitments

This is always the challenge. The alternative doesn't suit everyone's circumstances. It's like the flight change story - you can either make it or you can't. I wonder if there will be enough of a reaction from those booked to put the pressure on.

Just read the 5 pages on the cruise forum(and subscribed)
Very poor of Disney to do this to families so close, hope you can come to some agreement with them.
I think it should be in their T&C's they can't do this unless more than a years notice (or 11 months at least when flights are released) to cause least disruption possible.

That may be a point worth raising in correspondence. What is so sad is that offering an alternative or even a refund at this stage, leaves many families with no hope of a holiday at all for this year. And that is shocking.

and also, there are some people for whom the only workable date is the longer cruise (11 nt), but disney won't give them any sort of price break..
if they take a 7 day cruise, disney will honor the rate on the cancelled cruise..
but if they go on the longer cruise, they have to pay rack rate...
that is obscene in my opinion....if a family can only manage that date, then disney should give them a discount....it's disney's fault that this is happening...

i feel so sorry for all these people....
and i am totally shocked by what DCL is doing..
they seem to have no concern at all for the preservation of their good name...

That is bad, i would not be happy

I feel sorry for people who booked it and find out that it was cancelling...
