Disney but make it Paris! ~ an August 2025 adventure. updated 09/21 x 2

Oh, Sequoia Lodge. I wish I read that things had changed since my last stay there. Alas, it sounds just as frustrating. The "air coolers" were such a joke. (One of the reasons we opted to stay at the Disneyland Hotel in 2019 was because we knew it would be June and it was the only hotel at DLP with real A/C. The first time we stayed at Sequoia, we were sweltering.)

It's really interesting, because your experience on Phantom Manor mirrored my family's exact thoughts the first time. We did not understand the fuss whatsoever. But when we rode it in 2022, we enjoyed it a lot more. Maybe because we knew what to expect? I don't know.

Did you enjoy the loading area for Pirates? It's very immersive.

I hope you were able to ride BTMRR! It's my kids' favorite version.

Those metal sculptures are so neat.

Your dinner, while not all dishes were winners, sounds like it was overall, very nice. That's a beautiful pin. And your photos from the meal are lovely. You both so relaxed and happy! :goodvibes

We named our AC unit "old Bessie". It moaned and creaked and produced a little stream of tepid air. If I go back to DLP one day, I think I would choose either the Newport Bay or Disneyland Hotel.

Yep...I just couldn't figure it out...especially since it started out so well.

We did really enjoy Pirates, it was the only attraction we did twice.

We loved BTMRR, it was so fun! I ended up getting a Premier Access for it as the queue was always so long!

It was so fun to find them. :)

Thank you! It was a great meal overall. I know you had warned me not to expect too much food wise at DLP so I went in with low expectations. We were pretty pleased overall though.

After rolling ourselves out of Walt's we happened upon another sweet and lovely Disney Music Festival show. These shows were such a nice addition to the park. This was the Grand Finale and sadly we only caught the end of it but loved it just the same.

We had two main priorities after dinner, we wanted to see Le Pays des Contes de Fees and go through Alice's Curious Labyrinth. As they are both DLP exclusives it was important for me to experience them. I fell in love both and thought they were so charming.

Here's the DLP website has to say....

Le Pays des Contes de Fées: Set Sail!
Hop inside a colourful 15-person boat for a gentle cruise through the enchanting realm of Disney's Storybook Land. As you gracefully make your way past hills and through valleys, discover a dazzling assortment of charming homes and villages from classic Disney movies, beautifully rendered in miniature scale.

Along your quest, keep an eye out for the following intricately replicated settings, complete with imaginative landscaping, charming music and special lighting effects:

The dwarfs' mine and house from and the Seven Dwarfs
The gingerbread house from Babes in the Woods

Rapunzel's high tower with a braid hanging out of the window, from Tangled
The Old Mill
Prince Eric's seaside castle from The Little Mermaid
The Greek temple and Mount Olympus from Fantasia
Snow-covered landscapes from Peter and the Wolf
The "Night on Bald Mountain" scene from Fantasia
The Cave of Wonders from , which swallows the boats
A scene from The Sword in the Stone
Belle's village and the Beast's castle from Beauty and the Beast
The Emerald City and the Witch's Castle from The Wizard of Oz and Return to Oz

And now I'm just going to spam you with pictures....

We both loved this attraction...sweet, charming and a bit of magical storytelling.

Now we were off to the Labyrinth!

I'd heard of the Labyrinth (from another TR) but not of the other ride.

Sounds similar in theory to Storybook Land Canal Boats at DL.

Those were cool!
And a few I actually laughed out loud. :)
