So very helpful.

In any case....
to get from DTD to DHS in the easiest manner, take the bus, at DTD, to BW. Then, either walk or take the boat to DHS.
To get back to the WL from BC, you have a few options...walk/boat to DHS and take the bus to WL from there. Or, bus to MK and then bus or boat to WL.

That wizard continues to list bus routes that haven't run for almost 10 years. Continues to list EPCOT as a transfer point for guests who want to visit EPCOT resorts. DHS is the correct transfer point. EPCOT requires a long walk through EPCOT and park admission.

In that same vein of questioning, what is the best way to get from GF to WL? That same wizard shows a shared bus between WL, Poly & GF? This just doesn't sound right to me. Is there a bus between these resorts? I would have thought monorail or boat --> MK-->boat to WL OR monorail --> CR --> boat to WL?

:o Sorry for hijacking, OP. The topic just got me thinking about a future ADR and I figured that I would ask here instead of starting a new thread.

You can easily get from WL to GF but not the other way. Depending on if MK is open, go to MK and get the WL bus. If MK is not open then the only 2 options are Taxi and bus to DTD and transfer to the WL/GF bus.

Maybe the bus to the studios or AK makes that route? I wouldn't suggest it. A full bus will skip the rest of the resorts and go directly to the theme park.

Boat to MK then boat to WL.

The easiest route I can think of is taking the Resort Monorail to the Magic Kingdom, then getting on the bus or boat which goes to the Wilderness Lodge.

Of course another option is taking the Resort Monorail to the Contemporary and from there getting on the boat which goes to the Wilderness Lodge.

I just checked out the LP Wizard..it actually does say to monorail to MK, then boat to WL..which would be correct.
It seems that the site has been updated recently. The last time I checked, River Country was still listed there. Not anymore, and they have added BLT..so it would seem to be in much better shape.

LP always, promptly, added new resorts so the wizard has the appearance of being current . POP, CSR and SSR were added shortly after the resorts opened and BLT has been added. The name of the studios was changed to DHS.

The wizard is still showing a bus from CSR to Boardwalk. That bus ran for about 6 months after the resort opened. 10 years ago?

The wizard continues to show a bus from WL to the TTC. That route hasn't run in over 10 years, excepting temporary changes during construction.

Some of the routes are "interesting" boat from the Contemporary to FW then bus to EPCOT.

Using EPCOT as a transfer point for guests who want to go from AllStars to the EPCOT resorts make no sense. Requires park admission and a long walk through EPCOT.

The updated resorts fooled you. That's why the wizard is dangerous. It gives the appearance of being current and accurate without being either.

The wizard shows bus service from POLY to EPCOT. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think Disney normally schedules bus service on that route.

Diane--The wizard gives two different options for transportation between the Contemporary and DTD. Which one would you take? Can you think of a better way?

You think the OLP Wizard is in much better shape. Intelligent people can disagree.

Oh poopyhead!!!! I didn't check that one and that's one of the bad ones. And you're right about the CR to DTD....I never liked you!!!
I stand corrected....I hate it when he's right and I'm so very wrong.

Many years ago there used to be a thread that had a graph type of thing that showed all the different transportation methods with the times it took to do each leg (from resorts to parks, etc). Is this gone? I can't seem to find it. I think a bus driver had posted it and it was awesome.

Oooh, that is lovely!

But this was even more specific.

It would show all the tranportation choices with the times it took to reach a destination. For example:

WL to MK
WL MK 13 min boat
WL Poly MK 21 min bus/monorail
WL T&TC MK 26 min bus/monorail

It had every configuration imagineable. But the spreadsheet will still meet my needs. DISers are so fabulous!
