In the last few years I've got into Disney Bounding when I visit Disneyland California. My outfits are a themed dress and accessories with coordinating Minnie / Mickey ears. On my 2020 cruise, I plan to do the same. Most likely we will have a Frozen theme day / night so I'm planning a Frozen themed dress and I will buy Frozen ears in Disneyland in June. My other outfits include Pirate Minnie, Maleficent and Rey / SWGE/ Citizen of Batuu .

I'm not bothered about standing out and being noticed on the cruise, when I'm in the parks I'm used to people saying "I like your dress" or " cool outfit". I'm just curious in general do you see many people Disney Bounding on cruises.

People bring extra suitcases just to bring their Disney clothes onboard a DCL cruise. Pirate night and Star Wars nights are big as many guests dress up just for those nights.

thanks, I don't think I will have either of them on my cruise, its a 5 night European and most of the personal navigators I've seen for European cruises its Frozen night :)

It is much less of a thing on the ships than in the parks, but nobody is going to think it's weird or anything. I wear my Disney dresses during the day and change into a nice dress for the evening because my Disney stuff is just a bit more casual for dinner than I'm comfortable with (although others are fine with being more casual at dinner; you do you).

thanks, Im not bothered if people give me strange looks, I just love seeing all the creative outfits in the parks and was wondering if people put in the same effort on cruises.

On our Halloween cruise I bounded as Jack Skellington. :) You do you. I would love to see other fellow bounders. :)

I was hoping you were going to post some photos of some of your best outfits.

oops sorry, I have been home from my last visit to Disneyland for 4 weeks now and my Disney Bounding outfits are in storage until next year. Stick around or come back in 2020 and I'll post photos in my trip report :)

Thought maybe you just had some shots or selfies with you in them while visiting the park? No worries....................I think I will still be here next year. :)

nope, I dont do selfies, or ride photos or character photos. All my photos are of things, food, drinks, places, not me :)

I’m with @Dug720. Not saying there weren’t people doing this on my six cruises, but I never noticed it.

Pirate and SW costumes on Pirate Night or SWDAS? Absolutely. Customized family t-shirts? Tons of those.

But actual “bounding”? No.

oh well, I guess I will probably get lots of comments then, more than I usually get in the parks. And as I'm solo, it will be a great way to start conversations with people.

As each day will be a port day, we have no at sea days, my ears wont get blown overboard.

Other than pirate night, I didn't really see it, but I say go for it. I think formal night is the only night I'd personally be a bit uncomfortable since a lot of the disney bounding costumes are more casual.

I have booked a 5 night European cruise in September 2020, so there will be no Pirate or Marvel or Star Wars, or holiday events. Most likely we will have a Frozen day / night

I always see a few people Bounding on my cruises. I like to Disney bound (Snow White and Minnie are my go-to characters), and I’ve gotten a couple compliments on my outfits on cruises. I think it’s easier to Disney bound at sea because you are inside so much and don’t have high humidity and 100 degree days like in WDW.

Oh definitely a conversation starter. I dressed up every day of my solo cruise, 50s style, not Disney bounding. Great way to start talking and getting loads of compliments :) the best from one of the character handlers who I spoke to on the last night, he said that me dressing up was fun for them too, and he loved to see guests dressing up (in any kind of way) to make the cruise more fun for the guest themselves.

I say go for it! One of the Panama Canal trip reports I've read had the Mom and her 2 daughters Disney Bounding most days of their cruise, so there are other people who do it! I feel like some of the Disney Bounding stuff can be so subtle that I don't even notice it, lol. We're the family with the matching Disney tees...more 'in your face' than the Disney Bounding stuff.

I don't see people Disney Bounding on cruises that often but on the occasion when I do I enjoy seeing it. I say do what makes you happy it's your cruise too.
