A group of 4 will be visiting the Disney Swan in a couple of weeks. We hear that the hotel is connected to Epcot/MGM via a Boardwalk. Can anyone provide details on types of restaurants/shopping/entertainment we mau encounter on the Boardwalk. Also any dining recomendations for the Swan/Dolphin would be appreciated

Connected maybe sort of misleading. Epcot is the shorter walk via international pathway and MGM is a bit further. The Boardwalk has tons of eateries (ESPN, Flying Fish, Spoodles and a brewery, which I can't remember the name). There is a bakery for great morning pasteries and sweets, you can get take out pizza and I seem to remember an ice cream parlor. You can rent surrey bikes and it's very lively at night. Its a great venue.

Have fun, post lots of pictures for us.

There's also a sweet shop with great chocolates and other confections. We saw several wonderful performers on the boardwalk in the evening. There is a hair wrap kiosk and a general store with snacks, beverages, gifts and clothing. Near the DVC office are a pair of giant Mickey hands -- fun for photos.

Picture a lake, with canal ways coming into it, and going out, at several places. Epcot is at one end of a canal way off the lake. Then, you have YC/BC on one side of the lake. Across the lake from them is BW (and the boardwalk area). You need to cross over the canal way from Epcot to get to BW. Then, walk past BW, cross another bridge going over a second canalway (that goes to MGM) and you'll be at the S/D. If you go left, you go to the S/D, if you go right, you're headed full circle to the YC/BC.
Now that that is as clear as mud.....
The boardwalk has some fun eating spots....ESPN Club, Spoodles, Flying Fish, Big River Brewery....as well as the Boardwalk Bakery, Seashore Sweets. And there are some fun shops along the way. Nightly, there is lots of different entertainment along the boardwalk...jugglers, magicians, piano player on a tricycle. And don't forget those ever present surry bikes!!! Ding Ding!!!

Well I'm a huge fan of the Swan and just love the Epcot resorts since there is so much there to enjoy. You've got the YC, BC and BW all there and you are in walking distance to Epcot and MGM. You don't care to walk then you can take the boat.

There are so many restaurants and shops to enjoy between all of these resorts and the Swan and Dolphin that it is very hard to list.

You'll love it:thumbsup2

You will ahve a great time at the Broadwalk. SOme of my favorites are the General store just over the bridge, and there is a Wyland Gallery there too. Get a fantastic icream at sweet treats. ESPN you can catch up on your favorite game and have a late night drink and snack. There are strolling late night preformers...it is a lot of fun

Not to get off subject but where do alot of you guys get these beautiful resort pics on your signature line? I'd love to have one too:)

Me too regarding the pictures.

BW/BCarea is the greatest. There is boat service from all of the resorts between Epcot and MGM Studios. Don't forget Beaches & Cream and Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. Yacht Club also has some great restaurants. Enjoy.
