The parades over, everyone is following the end of the parade. What does a DISer do? Go the opposite way! We head towards Splash Mountain so Hunter can ride with his Daddy! I decide to sit it out, and try to get Megan back to sleep. No such luck!
It's funny, I didn't notice my mom wading into the water!
When the boys came back Woodys Cowboy Roundup came out so we followed them down the road. A crowd quickly gathered and Hunter took Megans hand and jumped into the action. The roundup is cute. They dance around and give some of the kids stick horses. It is however, a free for all. I was nervous trying to keep an eye on the kids. They were marching around, it was hard to keep my place in the front of the group because everyone else was trying to do the same thing. Hunter was a great big brother and never let go of Megans hand. Also, the cowboys spent their time trying to comfort the kids who were crying and didnt want to be out there. It was OK, but we wouldnt do it again. Id hate to see what it was like on a crowded day!
It was almost 4:00 so we decided to head towards Fantasyland. No BTMRR, no Haunted Mansion, no Hall of Presidents (Hunter was wanting to do this), wed try to get back over later or on another day. We passed Columbia Harbor House, and made a mental note. We parked the stroller and headed over to Its a Small World. The posted wait time was 10 min, but the line moved steadily and soon we were in our boat. Megan was in heaven. Baby dolls and a boat!
I always end up taking a picture of this hippo! I have one from every trip, and I don't even do it on purpose!
We decided to eat next and avoid the dinner crowd. We backtracked and went to Columbia Harbor House. I placed my order then followed the advice of the DIS and headed upstairs with the kids. EMPTY! I chose a table by a window. I had the BLT salad which compared to something youd get at McDonalds. I got a yogurt cup as desert to give to Megan. Dave and Mom got the chicken fingers meal and liked it. Mom got choc cake for desert (I think), and Dave got a very yummy apple desert. Hunter probably got mac and cheese, but Im not sure. We would definitely eat here again. You dont get a huge choice, but the atmosphere was great. I would just order something different.
After we left we got FP for Peter Pan, then we headed over to the carousel and walked right on. Megan loved it and wanted to do it again. Its definitely the little things at this age! As we were going around I noticed there was no wait for Snow Whites Scary Adventure so we rode that next. I felt the need to some of these things for Megan, but this is another thing that I could skip. They could make it so much better. We looked around the giftshop, tried on some hats, and took some pictures. My mom bought my brother a shirt and I wish I had bought one, but I only saw it in grey. Im Grumpy because youre Dopey! That just about sums up my life philosophy!
Here's the picture that we used on my mom's bday invite
Wasn't it nice of them to stop the ride so I could take this?! Just Kidding! I LOVE PHOTO SHOP!!!!!
FP time for Peter Pan. We love this ride. Its just classic fun. Megan wanted to ride the carousel again so Dave took her on that, Hunter didnt want to ride so he checked out another gift shop with my mom. I took a much needed break on a bench. Mom came out and told me that we could return the ugly stuffed Minnie that we bought and they had the baby Donald that we had been looking for, so I gave her the receipt and she made the exchange. I even got some money back. Did I give Donald to Megan? No. I decided to save it for her birthday present! I noticed a little girls purse sitting up on the wall so Hunter turned it in to a CM.
Apparantly I was having alot of fun!
Tea Time! In the wimp cup was Dave, my Mom, and Megan. In the crazy spinning cup was me and Hunter! We had fun and laughed the whole time. Megan would have had more fun with us! BTW, to my pre trip readers, I didnt get my moms picture with Mickey ears in the tea cups for her birthday picture because I forgot to pack the Mickey ears! I really wanted the kids pictures in front of the elephant topiary, but they were too distracted!
There's about 5 of these! Finally I just gave up!
Philharmagic was starting so we decided to go in. I think Ive mentioned once or twice (or 10 times) that I hate 3D, but I decided to try it. I didnt hate it! It was cute and not a scarey type 3D. I even found myself reaching for Donald to save him. Then I realized what I was doing! Hunter grabbed for everything and LOVED this show. Megan surprisingly left her glasses on the entire time! Dave even tried to cover her eyes a couple of times, but she wouldnt let him! This show definitely goes on the favorites list. At one point I checked out the wait for Ariel at her Grotto thinking it wouldnt be as busy at night, but the wait was 30 minutes so we decided against it.
When we had finished Fantasyland we headed into Tomorrowland. Rode Space Ranger Spin, I did horribly again. Then it was time to fulfill Hunters dream for the day. Space Mountain. Mom took Megan onto TTA which Megan loved, and we walked onto Space Mountain. I sat in the front because I was having another bad Mommy panic attack. I didnt want Hunter in the front in case he got scared. Either Im getting old or this ride is much jerkier than I remember! (Yes, I know the answer. Im in denial!) I laughed the whole time. I wouldnt have been able to hear Hunter crying over my big mouth anyway! Lots of fun and Hunter loved it! He wanted to do it again, but there wasnt time.
It was time to snag a spot for SPECTROMAGIC!! YAY!! Mom and I love this parade. Hunter slept through it last time. Main Street was crowded, but we weeded through and easily got our spot in Frontierland. We were on the corner of a path so we were sitting by the CM directing traffic. She was the NICEST CM! She talked to us (mostly Hunter) up until the parade. She traded pins with Hunter and told us about her job. She referred to it as being on stage and had worked there since August. She told us that this day we were there was about as un-crowded as it gets. She also said that the further into Frontierland you get, the smaller the parade crowd. She said sometimes there isnt anyone at the end of the parade route! Good tip! Megan was fighting to stay awake for the parade. Finally here it comes! I was giddy! 3 floats pass, and Megan is zonked! Poor baby had only had a 20 minute nap all day! I love this parade, but unfortunately the pictures I took stink and then my battery died!
As the parade concluded I got an idea. Before I tell you, you have to promise not to flame me. I know that some of you will be appalled! I thought since we had already seen Holiday Wishes, we should skip Wishes and ride rides! I asked Hunter, Do you want to ride rides or see fireworks? I knew what he would say, but this way it would seem like it was a group decision! See how that works?! We followed the parade and forked off to head towards Big Thunder Mountain Railroad! Well, apparently everyone else was getting a spot for Wishes because we walked right on! This is a great ride, especially at night! Laughed til I cried!
When we got off it was 8:55. We booked it over to Splash Mountain and she let us in line. We were the only ones in the tunnels. It was eerie! We get to the ride and its just the workers waiting for us! We were the last riders of the night! As we wind around outside, Wishes start. It doesnt get much more magical than this! Were at Disney World, riding Splash Mountain alone, watching the fireworks! Im thinking this when I get completely drenched! It is so weird riding this alone! There was no one in sight! It seemed like it was in slow motion. I noticed so much more. All of my senses were heightened. AWESOME! (I did wonder what we would do if they forgot about us, and shut the ride down!)
As we exited, this part of the park was already empty! My mom got to see the fireworks too. We were walking out as happy as can be. The Cms waved as we exited Frontierland, and I secretly wondered about good hiding spots to get to stay in the park! What a wonderful, magical night we had! I was on cloud nine! As we rounded the corner, BAM! Theres all the people! What a difference! As we walked out mom and I just couldnt stop looking at the castle all lit up. Everytime we turned around it was a different, beautiful color. This was our last chance to see the castle at night. Dave gave me a weird look, and I said, Yes were looking at the castle again!
