Disney Bells and Pixie Dust! Our Practically Perfect Vacation!*Thanks for reading!

I can not believe that I forgot to put this in this installment! I just remembered. (I must have blocked it out!)

So, I go up to the buffet to get my food. Like most buffets the chefs are working behind the buffet. I go to put some sausage on my plate and the sausage link slips out of the tongs, flies behind the buffet, and HITS the chef!!! The guy next to me was cracking up and the chef asked me if I just threw a sausage at him! Luckily he had a sense of humor! Quite embarrassing!

Ok - tonight I needed a laugh and this did it! :lmao:

Loved your update as usual! The pictures with the characters turned out fantastic. Looks like a wonderful birthday celebration for Hunter! We've never been to Crystal Palace either! :confused3

great update and pics. I love CP. I always eat there for breakfast and Biff wants to again in September so it is a must.

The sausage story is hysterical.

Loved the update Monica! The pictures of Pooh and the Gang are so cute! :thumbsup2

Maybe Piglet has something to do with the bacon not being that good (secret sabatoge from the pig to keep people from eating "him"). :confused3

The sausage story is hilarious! We loved Crystal Palace and I would love to try it for breakfast one time. FYI, if you do lunch time - first lunch service is 11:30 which was our ADR time, and although it was crowded getting INTO the CP, once we were in there, it wasn't mobbed. When we left around 1:00 - CRAZY BUSY! :scared1:

Can't wait for more... get on with it please! ;)

Sara

Dave thinks its because they use lizard bacon! :rotfl:

Oh no, now I'll think of lizard bacon everytime I try to eat it at WDW! :lmao:
I wonder why the bacon is so bad? We thought the coffee was terrible everywhere on site except for the Kona coffee at the Polynesian resort. I was tempted to go there every morning- the other stuff tasted like dirty, bitter water.
As always, love the photos you have posted. We loved Crystal Palace when we went for a late lunch on our last trip. What time were your ADRs? We have never had a character breakfast and are trying to decide if we want to go to a late breakfast at Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace. We want to be at the park early then take a break for a bigger meal. Chef Mickey's doesn't have lunch so I don't want to be so late that we can't get fresh food. Plus, we love seeing Pooh, Piglet and Tigger. Decisions, decisions.............

:rotfl: :lmao: this is a paticular good story, because I can totally picture it! I could just imagine your face :rotfl2:

This is def something that would happen to me!

That would be because they use dirty bitter water to make it! I could even taste it in the "soda" (Look at me using the universal term instead of pop!) because of the ice. YUCK! Disney needs to invest in a water purifier!

Our ADR's were for 10:10. We usually make them for 10:30 and we've never had a problem with the food being taken away. They keep the food fresh until the end. When I went back up they had just put out fresh breakfast pizza and french toast. And the sausage is HOPPIN fresh!:lmao: I'd go with the Crystal Palace so you don't have to leave the park.

I'm not sure I want my sausage to be quite THAT fresh! ;) I'm glad the chef had a good sense of humor, I can so see that happening to me!

I agree, why can't they offer better water on site - oh, I know -$2.50 for bottled water that costs them about 10 cents!:rolleyes1

I was going to post and just gush over how incredibly cute those pictures are but then I read this and now I am :happytv: ! Monica, you always manage to make me laugh right out loud!

Anyway, your pics are wonderful and I just love that Megan was so outgoing with the characters! Evan and Owen wouldn't go near them at her age!

YAY for Hunter's Yeti pin! He looks pretty happy with that! :thumbsup2

What great birthdays your kids had. Nothing can top celebrating at Disney world.

I think it's just wrong to serve bacon and sausage in a restaurant where one of the main characters is a pig! Good for you throwing it at the chef!!!

If it had been me, the sausage incident would have happened immediately after telling my kids not to play with their food and of course they'd be standing next to me :rotfl:

Love the update and the pics! The Tigger topiary with the Christmas decorations was awesome! oh, and the kids were pretty cute too ;)

Great update!!! I love the picture of Megan and Pooh!!

HAHAHA! I would like to throw a sausage at some of the waitresses at WDW!:rotfl:

Hi Monica. I'm late checking in because of internet problems but I'm glad I was able to get over here and read the latest update. We've never been to Crystal Palace but am considering it when we take our grandson next Jan. The problem is that his mom and dad don't exactly get up very early. It looks like fun though and the pics are just way too cute. It appeared that Megan may have enjoyed these meets a little more than some of the others. And your sausage story is hysterical. Hopefully it didn't leave a bruise. :lmao:

And you are going to buy What in your next installment. According to Flat Sharon, I could use some deoderant. :rotfl:

Glad I could brighten your day! It kind of reminded me of Pretty Woman when the oyster goes flying across the room, and she says, "Slippery little suckers!" (Except I'm no Julia Roberts, and Winnie the Pooh wasn't in Pretty Woman!)

Yes, her obsession just gets worse as the trip goes on!

We tried to get him pins for all of the big rides that he conquered. He got TOT, RNR, EE, TT, and SplashM. We missed a couple.

My hubbie would have pretended that he didn't know me if he had been there!

Great update!!! I love the picture of Megan and Pooh!!

I had that one blown up into a 5x7. I love it!

Yeah, I could have used some of that sausage at Prime Time Cafe!

You are going to have such a wonderful time next January! Crystal Palace takes ADRs until 10:30 I think. Or you could go w/out them! Yes, Megan LOVED Pooh and the gang. She was familiar with them beforehand and they are all short!

Pakey, you'll actually like what I have to buy!

This is outside of Crystal Palace. Unfortunately there's a shadow and my mom looks like I added her into the picture!

With our tummies full we decided to take a bathroom break. The Crystal Palace restroom was packed. We decided not to wait and as we walked out a CM heard me saying we’d look for another one. Well, this is where we got the best tip of the trip. She told us there was a restroom around the corner by Caseys. Well, it was EMPTY! I took Megan in, changed her, then we went into a stall. Sorry for TMI, but it was me, Megan and the big bag. She kept hitting her head on the bag. I was afraid that she was going to unlock the door and expose me. Then she thought that she needed to “help” me! Mental note: don’t take Megan into the restroom stall with me!

When we came out mom gave me some butterfly bandaids for my very huge, very sore blisters that she got from First Aid. It was day 3 and every morning I was having to do “surgery” on my blistered feet. And then there was Hunter. Even though we hadn’t done much yet, his feet were hurting. So we discussed what to do. My mom was willing to take the bus back to the resort to get his gym shoes, but I didn’t want her to have to do that. Then Hunter gave us his solution. He wanted a pair of Crocs. I hate Crocs. They are ugly. They are rubber. They are expensive! I felt like I didn’t have a choice so we went into Adventureland to the Croc stand. We stood there staring at the big rubber display of $32 shoes. There was a woman there looking at some for her son and wearing some, so I asked her how they were supposed to fit. She helped me out and told me she also hated them at first too, but they have saved her feet. By the time she was done she had me thinking that I wanted a pair! Hunter picked out red and I let him get 2 of the thingies that go on them. Jiblitz? Isn’t that what’s inside a turkey? We cleaned out the Visa rewards account buying Crocs!!! And you know what? They looked cute on him! I did tell him that he better not whine one time about his feet hurting, and that he was going to wear them every single day when summer came!

With that problem solved it was time to ride some rides and meet some characters! The Jungle Cruise wait was pretty long so we got FP and went to the Tiki Room. We probably would have skipped it, but I thought Megan might like it, and we do enjoy it. The concept is cute, as are the birds. They need to stop all the talking and just let the birds sing and perform and drop the silly storyline. I vaguely remember the previous show, but I think it was better.

Next we saw Timon and Rafiki so we hopped in line. They were really hamming it up and their handler was really into it too. Our turn! I wish I had it on video. They went crazy when they saw their pictures on the autograph pages. Timon acted very arrogant and showed everyone his picture. They would put the autograph book on the rail to sign and I made a comment about not dropping it in the river. Well, Timon started dangling it over the edge! Then Rafiki got upset about something and started sulking in the corner so Timon sat on him! We were cracking up. They finally stood still for pictures. The CM asked if Dave wanted to get in the picture, Dave said, “No, that’s OK”. Well, Rafiki wasn’t having it! He walked up to Dave, took the camera, gave it to the CM, and led Dave back to our group! It was great! No wonder the line was so long! They were spending 5 minutes with each family! One of out best character meets!

Time for Pirates of the Caribbean! We walked right on. **Spoiler**One of the changes is at the beginning right before you get to the big boat scene. There is a wall of mist with the octopus face guy, can’t remember his name. Starts with a B! It is so cool! Your boat goes right through it. I expected to get misted, but you don’t get damp at all. The changes were good, and they didn’t eliminate the favorites. Hunter was really worried that the dog with the keys would be gone. Love this ride! Mom took some pics, but they’re not very good.

As we walked through the gift shop I was trying to scope out where the “special” Photopass CM was, but I couldn’t find them. We had realized that we forgot Megan’s blanket bear and she was starting to ask for it since it was getting close to naptime. I bought her a safari looking Minnie because they didn’t have much, but I didn’t really like it. We left the gift shop and saw Captain Hook and Smee. Hunter was really looking forward to seeing Captain Hook. The picture on his shirt had Tick Tock and CH straddling his open jaws. Hunter couldn’t wait to show him! The line was average. Then I spotted her! That special Photopass! I dug the card out, gave it to my mom, and sent her over with Hunter. There was no one waiting because people didn’t know what we knew!
image293.jpg

They got back over to us just in time. Another great character meet. Captain Hook didn’t act mean like I thought he would. He was sweet with Megan and really played it up when he saw Hunter’s shirt! He hid behind a pole! He liked that his picture was in the book, so Smee started looking for his. No Smee page. I felt bad because he really acted sad. I apologized, and he forgave me. Actually, I think Smee liked me! Megan was unsure about this pair, but couldn’t take her eyes off of Captain Hook!

Well, I’m going to stop doing my next ups because I never get there! You’ll just have to wait on the yummy treat!

Wow Monica! That update was chock full of pictures too! I admit... I am a miserable failure at photopass! But then I did give you the head's up on the Captain Hook pic! And Hunter's is great! :thumbsup2

Oh Nicole! I meant to give you credit for that and I totally forgot! I'm so sorry! Thank you so much!:thumbsup2

My mom found the Photopass op near Crystal Palace. Even Dave was a big help spotting them!
