Our boat pulls up to the dock at Downtown Disney, we exit the boat and take a deep breathe. Smell that fresh Disney air, smell the food wafting from the restaurants, smell
eww! Whats that smell? Oh, its Megan! Dave takes Hunter into Rainforest Café and I go in search of a bathroom. We agree to meet in the Christmas store. I wait for the family bathroom to open up because I soon discover that we have a big mess on our hands. No one else needs to see that! I had to change her clothes and all I had were jeans. Oh well, they would have to do. I just hoped that Megan was not getting sick! By the time I came out Dave and Hunter had already shopped at Rainforest, walked through the entire Christmas store and then came over to find us.
Every couple of months Hunter has a different animal obsession. Since December its been pandas so when he saw the stuffed panda at Rainforest café that was it! It was only $10, and Hunter was a happy boy. It was already noon so we had a decision to make. Shop around DTD, or head over to MK. Thats an easy one! Magic Kingdom of course! So, I really feel like we wasted a lot of time this day, but Im glad we experienced the boat ride, and Hunter got his panda. We took a couple pictures before we left, and Im pretty sure we just missed Lynn (OhioTony) based on what I read in her trip report!!
As we looked at the stops to decide which resort we wanted to go to to transfer to MK, I had an idea. Lets go to Wilderness Lodge and check out the Christmas decorations, then well hop on the monorail and ride over to Mk! Did ya catch that? So as we are riding on the bus to WL, I start to realize my mistake. I have no idea what I was thinking. My Disney knowledge had drained out along with my energy by day 5! So of course we get off and theres no monorail. Oh well, we got to see this beautiful resort and I want to stay there! As we exit the gift shop I see Hunter talking to two men. What am I going to do with this way too friendly boy?! All three of them are standing in front of the
Disney cruise model and they are telling him all about it. By the time they were done, we all wanted to go on a cruise! I sure would like to read a trip report about one sometime
(Kimmy).
So we get on THE BUS to Magic Kingdom and we get there around 1:15. We dont have much time until our 5:00 ADRs, but well see what we can accomplish. We head over to Tomorrow land. Megan fell asleep on our way in so mom and I find a bench and Hunter and Dave head into Stitchs Great Escape. I know everyone hates it except little boys, and theyre right. Dave said it was fine, Hunter loved it! What is it with boys and burps?! Next Hunter wants to ride Astro Orbitor so Mom says shell take him. I stay on my comfy bench, just people watching, and enjoying the beautiful day. All week it had been around 80 with a very nice breeze. While sitting there I was also keeping my eye on the wait time for Laugh Floor Factory. We regroup and Hunter enjoyed the ride.
We wake Megan up and head into Laugh Floor. We hadnt done this before and I was excited. As we enter the CM hands me the card. Im the wait time girl!! A very important job you know! They herd us into a room. I really hate when they do this! Were not cows ya know! As we enter the room I hand off the card to the CM. Do you think I can put this on my resume? The show is cute, but it depends heavily on the audience which in our case was very bad. The man they called on put his head down and refused to even give his name! What a dummy! The lady they called on just laughed a lot and contributed nothing to the show. So, I was pretty disappointed. While in our seats Dave found someones camera card! We turned it in and I really hope the people got it back. That would be horrible to loose your Disney pictures!
Next we head to Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin! Fun as usual. I stunk, as usual. And of course we had to get the typical picture of the kids with Zurg. Next we need to find Megan a character because shes having withdrawals! Buzz will be coming out momentarily so we hop in line for him. I gave him a pat on the tush and told him it was from Nicole (lovesbuzzandwoody)!!
Its 3:00 so I decide that its a good time to go over to Toontown since everyone else will watching the parade! We take the secret path that only DISers know about even though it is clearly marked. A nice, peaceful walk. Well, Im really off today because Toontown was packed! Why arent all these people letting there kids see the parade?! We headed over to Barnstormer and the posted wait was 25 minutes. I had been looking forward to taking Megan on this all week so we got in line. We only waited 10 minutes. I look at Meggie next to Dave and she looks so tiny RIDING A ROLLER COASTER!! She loved it and giggled the whole time! This ride has got to be the shortest ride ever invented!
Next we head over to the Mickeys Toontown Fair to meet us some princesses! Wait time: 30 minutes!! Um, no way! So we sulk back outside. Well, I sulked. Hunter didnt care about meeting girls, Megan was oblivious and Mom and Dave were just along for the ride. We check out the outdoor stand and the kids try on some hats. I see something with Cinderella and I get this over whelming feeling of sadness because my little girl isnt going to get to meet her. Come on family! I say. Were goin in!
Next up: How long is too long to wait for a princess?
