Hi - does anyone know if "Disney Bear" is still available at the parks? We picked up the storybook by chance and now my daughter just loves it! I would love to be able to purchase one but I'm not sure where. I've seen a couple of very expensive ones on Ebay but I'm wondering if anyone has seen them anywhere else? (ie. Disney Stores?) We're not going back to the parks till next summer and I would love to have it for this Xmas.:santa:
Thanks for any info! :)

We were just there in July and saw Disney Bear dressed in a baby outfit wearing a bib that said "my first disney bear" and dressed in an outfit from High School Musical. There may have been other ones available but we just happened to notice those two. You could try calling Disney merchandising at 407-363-6200.

I bought mine from a car boot sale - paid 1.50 for it (thats about $0.75) brand new with tag (which has fallen off:rotfl: )

Oh man! I never find deals like that. lol. I think we paid around $20 or $25 for it  ......my DS7 just HAD to have it! She loves Disney Bear, someone gave her the book for Christmas, so she had her eye on it for a long time.

I have only seen the My first Bear at WDW. they did make a less soft version of the regular bears for a while but stopped when no one wanted them.
I have to brag a little.
I bought 8 of the bears in all different colors at the outlet for around $11 each. I had red, teal, light brown, dark brown, grey, white, and blue.
I decided to get rid of them and saw they were selling on ebay so I posted. I got over $300 each for all of them. Wow, I wish I had bought more now, I saw other colors and passed on them because I have way too much stuff.
Most of my buyers were from Japan, I guess they are big there.

The World of Disney in NYC had a black bear with an ivory face in August when I was there. It's smaller than the original bear and has a white shirt that reads "I love NY" The "love" is a red Mickey Head. It was $20. I didn't check to see if the shirt can be removed. You can call to order and they will ship it to you. It's exclusive to NYC with that shirt.

I have the first Disney bear, the light brown one. None of the colored ones appealed to me so I neve rbought them. They had pink, teal , blue and gray in addition to white, light brown and dark brown. I also bought 'My First Disney Bear', the one with the yellow shirt. To me the newer bears just aren't as soft as the originals.

Good luck finding one.

I couldnt believe when I picked one up for 1.50 ($0.75) and one went for sale on eBay a few weeks ago for 60.00 ($120.00)!! and it was EXACTLY the same as mine!

Good bargain hunter me :)

Hi!! I'm a newbie to the forums, so I know this post is old, but thought I would try my luck.

Does anyone still collect these bears or have any info on them?

Thanks!
Nikki

My DS5 just bought one last Saturday at Disneyland, so they yes, you can get them in the parks.
It is different than the one I bought him in 05, smoother fur and a little more firm. They come Naked, and sell the outfits now.
Hope you find what you are looking for!

Is the My First Disney Bear the same as Duffy the Disney Bear? I hear Duffy is going to start appearing in EPCOT.

Duffy the Disney bear is also going to appear in DCA beginning October 14. APs can get a preview presentation about him this weekend.

"Duffy" didn't sell in the American parks so the Mouse shipped them to Tokyo Disneyland and they were an instant hit! My son just returned from TD and he saw a long line of people waiting for merchandise... He went up to see what people were waiting for... It was the new Halloween costume for "Duffy"!

All you need to do is be patient, and find a local at one of the parks who is willing to buy you one and ship it to you at cost. Christmas arrival should be no problem!

Here's a picture of the new Duffy Bear I purchased at the passholder event today. The good news is that there's lots of Duffy merchandise coming to Epcot October 14th. He'll have his own store across from his meet-and-greet area including outfits representing all of the countries at Epcot and holidays such as Christmas, Easter, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, etc. I wonder if the older Disney Bears that were previously available will become more valuable now that Duffy in America looks exactly like the Japanese merchandise.

Where's his meet & greet area going to be? We're going after Thanksgiving and I definitely want to pick up a Duffy.

His meet and greet will be right as you enter the World Showcase on the left side. You could see it behind a construction wall/fence yesterday. His merchandise will be across from the meet and greet in that big store. If you have kids, they also stated that the Kidcot masks will be Duffy themed too. So, your kids can take Duffy around the world to visit each country.
