Just wanted to let you know that I found 3 different sets of the bandz, in of all places - Office Depot this morning.

They had a large bin near the check-out area.

The packages they have are:

Toy Story 3 : Buzz, Woody, Jessie, Bullseye & rocket ship

Character set: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Daisy & Goofy

Fairy set: Tink + others

They were $4.99 a pack :)

Awesome! I'm in Rochester so they mya be near me as well.

Thanks - KIM
POP Century - 08/25-09/03

Walmart has the Tink ones for $4 for 20 bands. My DD7 thinks she is hot stuff because none of her friends have Tink ones.

Can you believe the popularity of these things!?!? My nieces and nephew are nuts for them. My one niece wants the Disney ones really bad. I knew it wouldn't be long before Disney came out with some. I thought I read they were only going to be sold in the parks though. I'd never pay $6, but might have to go to Walmart to check out the Tink ones for $4. Thanks for the info!

I saw them in AC Moore (craft store) the other day. Same packs, same price. I think they were in the ACM flyer this week, too.

Basically shaped rubber bands. You can get them in a ton of shapes and kids collect and trade them. Mine LOVE them... :confused3

Oh, yeah. I have seen them on kids here at the library. Didn't know what they are called.
These are the latest fad? The kids actually trade them?
Once they are on the wrist, you can't really tell the shape, can you?

What's the point?
Oh! I must be getting old to be so out of it!

I went to Office Depot and Hallmark both but no luck. :( I hate living where it takes 2 months for things to catch up. :(

One of my students gave me a wand one on the last day of school. Whoever made these things is a zillionaire now!

Do the different shapes have special meaning or different values in terms of trading?

Please people we need to STOP paying 5 dollars for rubber bands. My mother just spent $35 on these for my nephew. I can not get my mind around that we are letting people get rich from elastics.

That really is crazy, isn't it?

They looked like cheap little things, pennies or nickle a piece, I would guess.

The kids in the library in Maine call the "silly bands".

They are sure that I would want the book shaped ones that have at WalMart.

I would buy them if they were in the shape of WDW attractions or themes. Could you imagine a "mountain" series (Everest, Space, Splash, Big Thunder)...
