So glad to have found this thread! Will be traveling to WDW in Feb for a week just a few days after our youngest turns 1. Currently breastfeeding and will probably be weaning during that time, so trying to figure out the whole feeding baby thing (prob important, right?). What is the Garden Grocer? Is it an offsite grocery store that delivers? Has anyone mail-shipped items directly to their room ahead of time? Considering having water and diapers delivered to save on space.

I would totally avoid weaning during the time of your trip. You may really want and need the comfort of nursing during travel time and knowing he is getting that milk reduces the worry about his eating well during the trip. unless he insist on giving up nursing, I would wait to you get back.

Anyone have packing tips for a baby. Im still wondering how I am going to get all her clothes, diapers, wipes foods, formula, toys and everything else for 11 days into 2 bags. (Southwest allows 2 bags to fly for free)

You are staying in a Grand Villa so you will have a washer and dryer. Make sure you pack laundry detergent (pods) and dryer sheets. I pack complete outfits in ziploc quart or gallon bags, easy for refilling diaper bag each day. Diapers, use a food sealer to pack 4-6 in bag, great space saver, just make sure you pack scissors in your checked bag.

These have been a life saver for securing bottles & sippy cups, as well as the favorite stuffed animal. If your child overboards the item it is still attached to the stroller and not on the ground.

Yes, hopefully, I can wait until after the trip to wean. Both of my other children started to self-wean at 10/11 months, so I'm planning in case he is similar. I did look into the Garden Grocer and that looks like a good option for diapers/water/etc.

my one tip, no matter how short your flight make sure you have a complete change of clothes for everyone in your group. not just for little ones but adults also. nothing worse than a bm blowout or throw up on the adult and no change of clothes. it seems to happen to someone on every flight I have been on. they always have a change for the little one but nothing for the adult

Last year, we took our son within a week of his first birthday. This January we will be taking our second son, who will be 10 months when we go. We had such a great time on our last trip, that we can't wait to go back!

One of the things that we did was order some fresh food from Garden Grocer. We live in Canada, so it is not practical to pack a lot of food in our luggage, so we used the grocery delivery service. It worked great! He was able to have fresh fruit, yogurt, and other perishables throughout the week in the comfort of our room. We also had things like pastries, cereal bars, and the pouch baby food delivered, which was great for breakfast and snacks in the parks.

The other thing that we did was take breaks in the middle of the day and let him have his usual nap. We were usually out the door before 8 and back in our room by noon for a nap. We would let him nap as long as he needed to, and then head back out in the late afternoon. We often ate lunch in the room (again we had sandwich supplies delivered), so that we could eat while he napped. The only meal we ate out everyday was usually dinner. Eating in the room saved time in the parks, and we focused on the attractions, not waiting in line for food.

The final thing that we did, was just go to one fireworks. Our son loves his sleep, so staying up late, means that the next day may be tough. So we chose to do Illuminations one night, and it was really fun. We really tried to not overdo it, and it made everyday really special. We never had an issue with an exhausted baby, because we followed his cues and never tried to overdo it. Hope that helps!

We just got back from WDW world with our daughter, her husband, their 9 mo old, and their 4 year old twins.

My advice? Take a grandparent. Grandpa and I had a wonderful time taking care of the 9 mo old at the parks. We strolled along, let her out to play, enjoyed lunch and the parades... She was the BEST baby. We took her and the boys back to the room every every day for our naps, then they were ready to 'go' again and so were we. After a day or two, the boys were begging for the pool in the afternoon instead of the parks so we did that, too. In the evenings, we baby sat while daughter and husband went out to dinner or enjoyed the parks and we 'old folks' and the 'young folks' got to bed on time.

I know that it isn't always possible to included grandparents, but this is always fun for us. I'm kinda sad that this is the last 'batch' of babies for our family; we will miss these trips with the little ones. They grow up waaaay too fast.

Baby sling was a life saver when we were getting on and off the bus and monorail and on rides. My guy was 11 mos and he was a pork chop so it was great to have both hands free.

For food, the food pouches are great. You can also mash adult food easier if you wet it down with water or formula.

That's what we're doing! Bringing "granny" along on our trip in 2 weeks with our 2 month old, Sawyer! Not only will it be a huge help, it'll give them some great bonding time - she lives 3 hours away from us and misses out on the day to day stuff.

We also plan to just take it slower than previous trips, and use our carrier (we are bringing the ergo performance and an infantino mei tai) as much as possible. We rented a stroller from Kingdom Strollers so we can use that too!

For bottles, get a bag bottle steamer if you have a microwave in your room to sterilize bottles! Also, I second the carrier!
