What is the status of this program? I never started it because I didn't want the committment of having to do it everyday. I used to see posts about it quite frequently, but there hasn't been much lately. Is it still up and running, worth doing? Details... I need details ;)

It looks like this one is a bust. It shuts down almost each month. It shut down in August for a little while and it is still not open. I wonder if anyone ever got there pass and disney gift certificates? I didn't see anywhere that they ever did a draw for July. I think this was just a big scam. Even if it ever did open again I don't think I would go back. It don't seem very trustworthy.

I don't think that this was a scam.

I think the folks who are trying to run it have run into quite a few snags. After writing and talking to them I feel that they are honest folks just trying to get a business started.

I also was suspicious at first but after awhile it just really seemed that it was too much work and problems for Kris, who was running it. I think she ran into some problems that she did not expect. It's really too bad because her heart was in the right place and just seemed she was trying to help people go to Disney.

I did the test run in May and ended up being one of the winners of Disney Dollars. I just received my $20DD a couple of weeks ago. :)

I just got an email saying that the disney awards is reopening on OCT 1 and people can go re-register then. I feel that she had to close the site down for a bit to reconstruct her business model based on the weakening economy. She also needed to do some technical upgrades to handle everything as she is a small operation. I truly believe that disney awards program was created to assist people in getting to Disney World and is not a scam. I recommend people give it a try when it reopens next week and judge for yourself.

Kris has been working on MAJOR changes with this program (thanks to a lot of hard work and suggestions from all of us). She has just started sending out emails telling us how we can re-enroll and what the new requirements are. Best news...there is now a "part time" membership that only requires 3 days of participation. Keep your eyes open for your email !!!

njziggy...are we going to be able to register new if we never joined before?? I didn't even hear about this program until after the registration was closed to new people last time...

I was so disappointed when I took the tour- every page I clicked on had a pop up page attatched to it! And one of the sites advertised had a distinctly adult photo with it! I did this site for a couple of months before, but I WILL NOT reregister. Good luck to all who do...

I just took the tour and re-registered... didn't see the offensive popup but I always close the popups before they load anyway. I'm sure if Kris knew a sponsor was putting up adult pics, she would drop them like a hot potato. If anyone else sees it please email her and let her know who it is!

I too reregistered but never saw the pop ups (I usually close that stuff out before they even load). And I'm sorry but, I don't know whether or not Kris is accepting new registrations. Does anyone else know?

this is a new ball game open to everyone

If you were registered befor and want to continue you must reregister and if new just register.

You have to pick whether you want to be Full Time or Part Time.

I heard from Kris the other day she is ready to mail my 4 day park hopper when I receive it I will post.

Hi everyone!

I've been a lurker for a while now and I am hoping that you could help me out. I am interested in registering for the Disney Award site, but I am having diffuculties finding out how to register. Could someone help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. I am planning a trip to DW next Sept. and would like to get all the Awards that I can.

Thanks!

I don't know if I'm just dense or what but I just checked out the Disney Awards site and can't make heads or tails of it.. Also, what does everyone mean when they say you have to register full-time or part-time? I'm currently unemployed and doing everything I can to earn money for my next DW trip via my computer.. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

You have to take the "tour" to get to the registration page. When you get to the end of the tour you can register. Full time means you commit to doing the program 5 days a week and part time menas you commit to 3 days a week. The only part of the program (from what I understand) that you must do to fulfill your "comittment" is the 23 searches on the Archaelogical Adventure section. For each "task" that you complete you get an entry into a drawing for prizes (including park passes and Dsiney dollars). The number and value of prizes is dependant on how many people participate and the revenues generated by the site. This is not a rewards program where you "amass" points to trade (such as Creation Rewards or Suzykats) but an awardds site where you get entrieds into a draw.

hi everyone, it's been a while, i haven't been checking in with the DIS boards too much.

Disney Awards is indeed up and running again.
this site has gone through a number of revamps in an effort to improve.

i thought i remembered that a number of prize winners from earlier this year did really receive their prize(s) from Disney Awards. (anyone of you still around? please speak up!)
the prizes are only sent out quarterly, so there is a long delay. this is not unlike many of the other rewards programs we do (there's always some sort of delay one way or another)

i did win some Disney Dollars back in June, so whenever i receive that i will definitely report back, to soothe your scam worries! (i have to admit, for a second, you guys made me doubt myself... but the site and owner are way too sincere, there's no way it could be a scam *shiver* that would truly be scary... )

anyway *big sigh*

for those interested in DA but still confused, feel free to send me a PM or email me.
i'd be glad to help you out! :)

Just wanted to let everyone know I am happy dancing all around the house!!!!

My Pass arrived today!

BTW, about those "adult" pop-ups are gone. There was a post about them on the Disney Awards boards. The company was only supposed to do travel-related ads. If I'm remembering correctly, Kris terminated them completely.
