Disney Attire for Summer

Tank tops and shorts are the way to go. Also, wear a hat because the sun is very strong! and don´t forget to use sunblock.

As for makeup, you do not want to wear a lot, since you will be sweating or getting wet with a surprise rain shower, so what I do is put colored sunblock, waterproof mascara and lip gloss.

Have a great trip

I cannot bring myself to wear tank tops..... I think the heat reduction would be offset by the fact that my arms are NOT in the best shape. (Although I am working on this at the gym!)

I do have a lot of t shirts with cool max that work really well...

and it's not just bikini tops that are inappropriate obviously. We were at Town Hall in MK getting our pins and a lady was at the counter yelling at a CM. What I got from the convo was that a CM told her she had to go change her outfit or she would be kicked out of the park (she was wearing booty shorts...really inappropraite ones). She was yelling at the CM at the counter that it was rude of them to make her change and that she refuses to. Her 5 year old girl was standing patiently beside her....

This topic comes up every so often, and people always say it is too hot for anything more than a tank and shorts. I really don't understand this. For me, on really hot, sunny days, I can practically feel the sun baking my exposed skin. Areas that I have covered are hot, but not that oppressive baking hot feeling. I often wear long, gauzy skirts and 3/4 length sleeves -- again, out of a light, gauzy fabric, and I do fine. Of course, it could just be that I'm used to it. I grew up in south Louisiana, spent a summer or 2 at the University of Hawaii, and then went to south Florida before, eventually, ending up in Central Florida (on the Space Coast).

Since I live in Florida I have definately become smart about dressing comfortable to stay cool. The best advice I can give you is to go to Target and head to their exercise clothing section. Buy some shorts and shirts made of "coolmax" or "wicking" material. Even when you sweat, the moisture will wick away leaving you dry and comfortable! You could get soaked on splash mountaina nd be dry in 10 minutes of sunshine. Target has cute stuff that is very reasonably priced!

I found that exact same clothing at Target, and was so happy! Can't wait to try it on my next trip.

Regarding bikini tops, I think they're more appropriate if you're in a water park or by the pool. Tank tops would be much more appropriate.

:sad2: man...some people are so desperate to get on a board they will post just about any question,comment...
i dunno...maybe its just me....:scared1:

Hmmm. The OP's original question seems like a legitimate request for people's opinions. Not sure why you have a problem with it?

I absolutely think women should wear bikini tops- as often as possible! As long as they have the body for it, I should add. :rolleyes1

:) :) I am sorry but it just struck me as a very silly question...its summer...its florida...its HOT!!!! what the heck do you THINK should be worn...sorry...didnt mean to be mean....i guess i just had one of those days ya know.......i wish i were in MK ! ! !

Imo, bikini tops are simply bras that can get wet. And nobody (I hope) would wear just a bra to to theme parks, so a bikini top shouldn't be work to the theme parks either.

We were there from June 2-11. We've been home for a week now Wahhhhhhhhh!

Anyway, we saw lots of people at Animal Kingdom with just bikini tops on and tiny little shorts :sad2:

The best one was a lady wearing her bikini with nothing over it :scared1: She walked off Kali River Rapids and didn't bother to cover herself back up with anything. She had a big wedgy as she walked through the park ahead of us holding her DH or BF's? hand :scared:

I think everyone should wear what they want....but if you know you don't have the body for it...then don't get upset when people  at you. I mean hey, people can walk around in those ridiculous CROCS but no bikini tops???;)

We are going in a week.. I bought a lot of halter tops and like sleeveless type of tops, but they are all full tops. i will wear my bikini at the beach and at the pool Then i have light weight, khaki capri's and some white capri's.. and then shorts. My crocs, tennishoes and flipflops

*hahaha* What's worse - leaving the wedgy in or pulling it out in front of hundreds of people :)

I can understand if people change into a bikini for a water ride so long as they change back into more appropriate clothing before touring the rest of the park. It's not very comfortable to walk around in a sopping wet T-shirt.

Not sure why the heat is an excuse to want to dress inappropriately. Yeah, it's Florida, but so what. It's alot hotter in many many other places and people don't wear bikini tops. If people want to show their "stuff" they need to find the appropriate venue to do so. Not at a family vacation destination.
It sounds like an attention thing to me.

I typically wear tanks, sleeveless shirts and shorts in the summer months. In the cooler months, I'll wear sweatshirts and capri's. Most of the rides are indoors and with plenty of opportunities for a quick AC fix.

I wear shorts, tees or tanks and flip flops.

I dont think people should wear bikini tops, its tacky

I think I read on a park map somewhere that shoes and shirts were required.

MHO: no bikini tops, swimsuit pants, heelies, one piece under shorts with no top, or wifebeaters! T-shirts with inappropiate slogans (but then who is the judge of that one?) should be allowed. (Along that line--several years ago, one of our old mail couriers --young men---came to the office to pick up mail and had on a t-shirt that said he was "down with OPP". Well, I had 4 mail pickups & 4 mail drops off a day and knew I'd be seeing that shirt several more times so I asked him to turn it inside out. I then gave him some "motherly" advice on appropriate work attire--thankfully I had that kind of relationship where I could talk to him about it.
