We will be planning a trip to Disney during Thanksgiving week...can anyone tell me if all Disney parks or at least magic Kingdom is all decked out in Christmas decor by that time? What re the crowds and temp. like at that time of year? Thanks for all the help!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at Disney and would love to do it again. The decorations are up in the resorts and parks. The Osbourne Lights opened the week of Thanksgiving when we were there and the Santa's were at Epcot the day after Thanksgiving. Make sure to make your Thanksgiving day dinner reservations ASAP. They book up fast and often offer special menus. As for the weather, we wore shorts and swam one day but needed jackets, mittens, and hats another day. You must pack with layers in mind.

I'm glad to hear this - because we are planning a trip to Disney World over the Thanksgiving week as well. Our biggest hurdle at the moment is getting reasonable airfare. However, I have a friend who's sister works at DW in MK and she said that by T-giving Disney is all decked out. We originally had thought we were going to go from Sat 11/21 to 11/28, but now are considering changing it to 11/24 to 12/1 due to airfare prices. We're excited to go though, and hoping that the crowds won't be too horrible. I've heard that T-giving weekend is a busy weekend at Disney (due to kids being off school), and I've also heard to pack clothing that you can layer. You never know if you'll need shorts or pants or long sleeves and it changes from morning to afternoon to evening. We'll be travelling with our 11 yr old (who will turn 12 the week before we leave) and our twin boys who will be 3 when we go. I've seen the dates posted for Mickey's Xmas party and am considering getting tickets for it. I have not seen the schedule (only last years) for when they will officially turn on the Osborne Family Lights (which is a big draw for us) but it looks like last year they did it the day after T-giving.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful week at Disney. This will be the first time we have not gone that week. We will be going the day after Christmas this year because of college and Nutcracker schedules (our youngest daughter dances with a ballet company so early December is busy). Anyway, the weather is wonderful and the crowds are managable (but you will still need to fast pass and plan). My favorite thing is that you can leave a park as it closes and come back first thing the next morning and Christmas is everywhere. I suggest that you pack a light jacket, we have only needed them once but the weather really caught us off guard and we needed them. We LOVE Disney at Thanksgiving, it is tradition for us. We always do EPCOT on Thanksgiving Day. This will be a new adventure for us so we will be thinking of you there in our place. Have a great time!!!!!!

I went to Disney with my late husbands family over Thanksgiving in 2005 and had a wonderful time! We had our Thanksgiving Dinner at the Hibachi Grill in Japan in Epcot - it was great!!! The parks and resorts were all decked out and it was awesome to send out out Christmas Picture that year of Tim and I standing in front of a Poinsetta "tree" in short sleeves! The Osbourne Family Lights were outstanding - they even had "snow" falling and roasted nuts. During the day we were in capris, shorts and short sleeve shirts, but it did get chilly at night so we would slip on a sweatshirt or fleece.

We will be there Thanksgiving too!! I am also from Michigan in the West Michigan area. Our dates are 11/20-12/5:woohoo:

I went to Disney Thanksgiving one time and loved it. I love all the decorations and usually there are quite a few about. I love the Christmas music they play. It just made me so happy! Can't wait to go again. We did have some chilly nights, but mostly the weather was in the 70's which is much better than MI that time of year!
