I am planning my first family trip to Disney in November and was planning on going over Thanksgiving. Is it really crowded then?

:grouphug: Welcome to the DIS!!! You'll get lots of helpful advice.
That's when we're going and I've read that it's very crowded. I just decided last week to take DD and her friend. There were very limited rooms available onsite so that was a clue. I would subscribe to Tour Guide Mike, this forum's sponsor:http://www.tourguidemike.com/. He h...and his is the best. Have a wonderful trip!!

It depends on when youre going. If you're going the week before Thanksgiving through Thanksgiving it won't be terribly crowded (even Thanksgiving isn't THAT crowded. Have a Wonderful trip! I would buy the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2007--WAY better than Tour Guide Mike.

I've been wondering the same thing for next year. Does it get really crowded the F/Sa/Su after Thanksgiving?

We thought it was very crowded when we were there for Thanksgiving two years ago. We've switched it now so we leave before that day.....

I would imagine it would be very crowded Thanksgiving weekend. Most people and all schools have this weekend off.

We went last year for our first WDW Thanksgiving. Knowing the parks would be packed, we skipped them on Thanksgiving Day. We went to MGM the next day (when everyone was shopping...) and there wasn't much of a crowd at all.

Welcome to the Dis! Have a magical trip! :wizard:

We were planning on going Wed - Friday so we would be there on the day before, Thanksgiving day and then the Friday after and then probably head home on Sat.

I hope its not too bad.

Thanks for the help!

I went a few years ago the week of Thanksgiving. We spend Thanksgiving day there too. It was not bad at all. It was also cooler. The only bad part was getting home. The traffic was awful. It took us 4 hours long than usual. I guess all the Turkey day traffic left on the same day!! But...the parks were great!

Generally it's not crowded b/c most people are with family so it's not crowded. I've been in Nov you can get alot of things done. Good luck and have fun. :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

We were there from the Saturday before Thanksgiving through the Saturday after. Before Thanksgiving the crowds seemed very light. Thanksgiving day wasn't too bad but the Friday and Saturday after things seemed to pick up a good bit. If I'm not mistaken the park hours were extended those days so at the end of the day you had done about the same amount, it just took a few extra hours.

We go every T'giving (Sat before-Sat after) and LOVE it. It really isn't crowded until T'giving day, and even then it's less crowded than when we go in May. :)

We went last year and our last day (as this year will be) is on Thanksgiving. By then we are just doing a few hit and miss last rides so the crowds that day didn't bother us too much. It was great that week before! This year we're adding 2 extra days before and will be going to MVMCP!

We're going for Thanksgiving as well (Sat - Sat). My only suggestion is if you haven't looked into making ADRs yet, you should. Especially for T-day...alot of places are already booked solid.
