We are building a home, and I'm doing the kid's bathroom in Mickey and Minnie. I'm not real impressed with the Scattered Mickey shower curtain available at the Disney Store. Is anyone familiar enough with this store at DTD to know if they have a larger selection of shower curtains and other bath decor?

that is one of my destinations this trip...
I'm decorating my bathroom as well.

I remember the Mickey bits and pieces
being there on my 2002 trip...I also remember looking
at some more suttle mickey decos-in whites and pastels.

Gotta get me some Mickey knobs!!!!!!::MickeyMo

the main ones I'm looking to get were
brass(ish) and silver(tone)..

they had Donald and Mickey and Minnie-
there were more, I just don't remember all of them.

I need silver for it to match my bathroom.:smooth:

The Disney Store catalog might have more of a selection. I believe you can view it online too.

They do have some really cute ones. I love the Princess Collection, although my son wouldn't be too thrilled with it. :)

But I'm specifically wanting either Mickey or Mickey and Minnie, and strangely enough, it's kinda limited. The website has two designs that would work as far as color scheme, but they are both the clear plastic curtain, whereas I'm wanting a vinyl (?) one that is definitely NOT clear - got to hide that bathtub clutter! :D

OOH!! I've seen those, but had forgotten about them. They are cute!! Oh great, now I'm redecorating in my mind again!

I was disappointed when at the Home store in Dec 2003 that they didn't have more shower curtain options. I ended up buying one off of ebay that I liked (at least that way you can see some different options). They did have a couple of choices at the Character Warehouse stores too.

The Home store has great knobs that not only are brass and silver but they have white enamel type ones with colorful faces of characters: Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy for sure, don't remember if they had Donald and also the Pooh group.

They have a great rug that is in the shape of a Mickey head silouette in black, red, and white.

They have a lotion dispensor, soap holder, toothbrush holder too. But they are all white, sort of like a little Mickey hat with arms that decorate them. I found some I liked better at the Disney store online.

Also, Home Depot sells some great Mickey stencils if you want to paint the walls yourself!

Also the Kohler company sells Mickey "hands" that serve as sink turners or shower knobs-- kinda pricey though.

How about getting the clear one you mentioned before and putting a solid shower liner behind it. Even a solid color shower curtain might work. Never tried it ...just an idea.

I did think about that - the only thing is that the curtain is that plastic material, so not sure how two "plastic" curtains would work. Anyone ever done it?

I'm really wanting more like a "material" - I don't know what it's called - and then I would put a plastic liner behind it. We've got a plastic-type kind now, and the kids have torn it out of the shower curtain hooks by pulling on it too hard - that's why I wanted a sturdier one this time.

I wonder if I could find some material and make one, and then put a liner behind it.

hang a heavy, plastic, solid curtain on the existing rod-
put in front of the normal rod a tension rod...
and hang your cloth mickey curtain on the tension rod.
(Get one that looks like the existing rod,
I've seen them at Home Depot and Target.)

Use nondescript hooks on the plastic liner
and mickey hooks for your curtain. If you can,
hang the tension rod higher than the liner
so the liner is "invisible."

Yep - that's exactly what I want to do - now just to find the cloth Mickey curtain. If this store doesn't have anything, I'm just going to start looking for some material to make my own.

Do they carry Tigger throws? I've always wanted one of those, and thought this would be the perfect thread to ask about them on!! Does anyone know if there is a Home Disney (or whatever it's called, lol) store at DTD in Anaheim, and do they carry them there? I'm planning a trip next Sept to DL and would love to pick one up then if possible.

Thanx,

Jules

I heard an interesting rumor about the Mickey At Home store when I was there 2 weeks ago from a CM there. I was told they are thinking of closing the store and moving the merchandise to WOD and leasing out the current store to an outside business (Like they do with BASIN).

The Parks have them!

I saw them at MGM and MK in the kitchen shop
on both main streets.
They have the bits and pieces Mickey but also had a solid black
Mickey silouhette and pewter Tigger, Mickey, Minnie,
Eeyore, and Goofy in the kitchen stores at both parks.::yes::

I never did get to DTD this trip...

I bought the Mickey and Minnie knobs several years ago in the store at DTD. Can't remeber how much they were. The ones I purchased look more like pewter. I put them on the drawers in my kitchen. They looked really cute.
