Disney at Christmas - Must do

When I started reading your post at first I thought it was my husband, but I don't believe he has found this website just yet. Anyway, I am a NICU nurse in Columbus, Ohio. We too, me, DH and DD are heading to Disney in December (16-23). We are extremely excited, will be our first trip since buying DVC. I was told by a co-worker also a DVC owner that the Christmas season is absolutely the best time to visit if you love Christmas time. Hope your trip is as magical as I am hoping ours will be.

Yes definately go see the resorts its a nice slow down when the crowds get hectic.
Over on the Village Green at BWV is also where you can see the folks doing the carols with the bells Just ask MS for schedule and locations.
Sleigh rides at Fort Wilderness
and if your travel dates put you there in time MVMCP is worth the extra money, Tickets are limited to 25,000 (last time I asked) seems like alot but really inside MK thats nothing. Standing on main street in the snow watching the Castle is truelly Magical! Shawnpirate:

Thanks for the tip about the bells. Will do it.

25,000 is actually light. A friend has an inlaw in Disney Parks Operations and a crowded day is considered about 60,000.

Christmas is my favorite time to visit Disney as well-though it will be CROWDED!

Your best bet is to get up as early as you can. The best time to be in the parks is always just when it opens.

There are many wonderful "Christmas-y" things to see. I agree that the Candlelight Processional is amazing and they do a special encore to Illuminations as well with a Christmas theme.

The Castle Lights at Magic Kingdom are absolutely beautiful as well. The Christmas Parade is cute, but you would live if you missed it. Seeing the "snow" fall at night is wonderful. You should take the monorail over to the GF from there to check out the walk-in gingerbread house and their gorgeous tree. Maybe make a lunch or dinner reservation there so you can enjoy it all.

Osborne Lights are really something to see, especially if you guys enjoy Christmas lights.

It's fun to see how each park decorates differently to match their "theme".

I hope you and your wife have a wonderful time-you deserve it, especially with the caring work she does.

We have done the Christmas-time pilgrammage to WDW for 15 years, although never during Christmas week (too crowded). Our "Do-not-miss" list includes:

1) Candlelight Processional
2) Castle Lights ( a recent addition to the list!)
3) Osbourne Lights
4) Resort Hopping
5) MVMCP (although its not as good as it used to be)
6) Decorating our own balcony at OKW

Since things change at WDW, here are the top "we-wish-they-would-bring-them-back" list for Christmas:

1) Free pix and pins at MVMCP
2) Lights of Winter at EPCOT
3) Jolly Holidays dinner show

We missed the Lights of Winter in EPCOT this year. As you walk towards World Showcase, it lacked the WOW factor.

This year, it appears I wil have a unique Chritmas-time opportunity -- my daughter is getting married at the Wedding pavillion on 12/15. Looks like a Napa Rose reception, at night, overlooking the castle and WISHES. :scared1:

The traditon continues...........
