Disney April 2012

I love to plan but almost 2 years out for a WDW vacation is to much. Now a cruise it pays to book far ahead but WDW no benefit.

Planning a WDW trip 2 years in advance makes perfect sense to me. You get to reserve the room that you want at the location you want for starters. It gives you time to save for that magical stay and you can go all out. Not only that, but they take restaraunt reservations 18 months prior to your trip. This amount of time pretty much garantees that you will be booked for all the things you want to do and not have to skimp on something because they are already booked. So in my mind, years to plan and organize makes perfect sense....

I will be going in April 2011 and hope to go again in April 2012 but won't know that for sure til next year.

I wanted to clear up a few things I think you are confused about.

1. You can only book a WDW resort hotel room 1 year in advance not 2 years.

2. Second you can only book ADR's 180 days in advance not 18 months.

It is great to have time to save and think about what you want to do but you can not really book your hotel until 365 days out, ADR's 180 days out, and recreational activities 180 days out.

Happy planning.

Actually you can book a room only at 500 days out. You get quoted the currect room rate and they correct that after the prices come out each year in August.....

Sorry if I gave the wrong info. I was always told by CM's that you can book one year out and as you said you would be quoted current rates but they correct them when new rates are posted.

If you can not get a quote on a rate - what is the point of booking 500 days out? I still think it is a little silly to book a WDW vacation 2 years out.

Just my opinion.
