Live dance performances. One that stands out? In fulfillment of a bucket list item, D32 and I went to NYC in January to see both the Rockettes Christmas show and NYC ballet's Nutcracker. We'd seen the Christmas show before, and it was truly a Spectacular, but seeing Tiler Peck as the Sugar Plum Fairy in Nut was BREATHTAKING. Words cannot begin to describe this woman's talent. She was stunning and perfect in this role.
Seeing Paul McCartney live at MSG. DD knew it was another of my bucket list things, and also knew that I'd NEVER pay for tickets for myself. One year she came home for Mother's Day, which I thought was my present. While we were at brunch, she gave me my Mother's Day card, with 2 tickets to Paul McCartney in the card. I cried in the restaurant.
We've seen lots of live theater, either community groups, touring companies (benefit of living near universities/colleges), and more, including seeing many shows on Broadway in NYC. Two of my favorite shows are Chorus Line and Miss Saigon. Chorus Line speaks to my background in dance, and Miss Saigon? Who knew there'd be a helicopter on stage? This category also includes favorite Disney live shows- Tarzan Rocks, Festival of the Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast being my very favorites. Some day I hope to see Lion King live in NYC.
