Disney app for onboard use

Has anyone used the app for onboard for their navagator I installed it to my I phone and curious of how well it works

We really liked it. I carried my phone to use for the camera and the app. Never carried the printed navigators.

We used it in Oct on the Fantasy. The only 2 issues I saw were that the app times for things sometimes didn't match the ship( say a movie starting at 800 on the app vs 830 on the ships printed nav) and occasionally we had reception problems using it in the cabin due to a weak signal. It could have been the signal booster was weak for that area or the booster was off.

We used it on our iPhones on the Dream Dec 5-8. It worked well.

As a PP pointed out, the data occasionally differs from the printed Navigator. My advice: use the printed version for planning a day, and then refer to the app when out and about.

Since the app uses the DCL-Guest wifi network, I wish they would enhance it to include texting. Then we'd be able to ditch the clunky wave phones and just carry an iPhone.

Had trouble using the app in the terminal. Probably too many people trying to use a smaller network. No problems once on the ship.

The best feature of the app is the ability to see the schedule for every day of the trip, which you can't do with the paper navigator. On Day 1 we could see what activities were scheduled for Days 2 and 3, which really helped plan our trip.

We were also on the 12/5-12/8 sailing and I used it a little bit. We enjoyed looking at the menus when we were waiting for a movie to start or just "waiting" to see what we were going to order that night.

The only hiccup I really had is it sometimes got hung probably because I had used "real data" in Nassau and Castaway (I had it in my plan) so I had to manually close the app, then re-launch it for it to work a few times.

I think it's a great enhancement!

I have the app for my Nexus5 I just hope it will be implemented on the Magic for my Jan 27th, 2014 cruise!

The Wave phone can barely text never mind having an app on it.

I just used it and it was great. You mark your favorites and it is easy to use. Plus you get the cruise worth at once. Was great.

My wife and I had it on both our phones and used it a lot. We just got off the Dream this morning, first time on this ship. We used it for menus, entertainment, times, getting around the ship, lots of information/descriptions of just about anything you want. It is a great addition to the paper navigator.

We used it last week on our iPads. It worked really well. We were impressed. However I still like using the grid on the actual navigator for a snapshot of our day.

i havnt used it yet but I believe it says to put phone in airplane mode or shut off data or something ...

it was cool to see the dinner menus ahead of time too.

This app is one of the best written apps I've seen. As for the system, it connects quickly and reliably to a free wifi connection (DCL-GUEST), updates in seconds on opening, and seems to have everything! So nicely organized, so easy to navigate, several ways to access the same information.

You can mark your favorite activities with a simple tap on the heart symbol (such as a particular character, movie, or event) and get back to them immediately.

Kudos to whoever wrote this one. A pleasure to use. We didn't need our navigators as all.
