Well I've decided that we'll go for Annual Passes this year as we'll save on park entry.

Next decision is whether to pay for shipping or to use 'Will Call' but I cant get an answer from Disney as to the difference - so I'll turn to the experts.

I half expected 'Will Call' to be an email confirmation that I exchange for tickets at the park but I've been told by Disney that even for the standard shipping I have to exchange whatever is shipped for tickets - so is the difference an email confirmation vs a posted confirmation?

Also, can we exchange the voucher at any ticket booth - we'll probably be going to MK first?

Other than the cost, does anyone know of any disadvantage in getting an annual pass?

With will call they send you an email containing a link, go to it print and exchange.
You can do this at any guest services, we find easiest uusually is at Downtown Disney as we are there a lot of evenings. If you are onsite you can possibly do it in the resorts but someone else with have to confirm or deny this.
I just can't understand why people pay $10 (or whatever the postage is) to send over when you pass guest relations almost every day. We got ours from ticket office at MK before we boarded monorail last August.
The only disadvantage is you feel you should go 3 or 4 times a year because you want to make the most of your AP's (which is what we did going back Easter for 3rd time since we got them)

Thanks for the reply wayneg.

Do you know if they ship the real passes if opting for the shipping option or do we still need to stop off at the ticket office?

I think postage is about $10 which isn't a big deal when getting 4 passes.

I think we know that disadvantage as we've already decided to go back to Florida in 2008 to get an extra holiday from the passes.

Sorry cant help you with tickets, we have always taken the will call option. Even if it was free postage I would do will call, don't see point in sending something thousands of miles when we can collect so easily.

We did this in January and took the will call option.

We went to guest services at Epcot to exchange for passes the day after we arrived (don't forget to to take photo ID). We were a bit worried as we had booked AKL with an AP discount and were checking in the night before we were going to get the 'actual' tickets. As I recall they didn't actually ask to see our AP's.

I think that if you take the shipping option you stil only get vouchers that have to be exchanged.

We costed tickets for our 2 planned visits this year and the AP saved us around £200, plus the hotel discount and we purchased the DDE card which works better for us than DPP. The plus side is I managed to talk DH into an 'extra' trip this June to make use of them

I have bought tickets both ways. They post a voucher that needs to be exchanged (you can do this at Downtown Disney). With willcall make sure you have the credit card you paid for your tickets with as they do 'misplace' details and have trouble tracking down your tickets. I have heard nightmare stories about willcall and was very glad I had all details about dates etc with me when they could not find all my tickets. For peace of mind I would go for the physical voucher every time - plus you can use the number on the back of that to get a DDE if you want. Email won't work for that.

If you do choose will call you can ask for the booking ref so that you can order a DDE card. We had no problems with this.
