Disney Announces New Premier Passport

Again, not trying to say that the issues people are having aren't there, but just wanted a good experience out there :goodvibes

Well my experiences have gotten a lot better with this pass. I still need to show I'D when parking. I am fine with that. I have no problems with getting my Fastpasses. I have found out they have added a Premier key to the cash registers at the dinning locations, but they do need to type in the barcode number, just like merchandise. The last problem I had was in Aug when I at at Pizza Omm Mow Mow or whatever it was called. The guy taking my order asked if I had a AP. I showed him my Premier Pass, he then asked for the pass I used to enter the park with. I almost fell over laughing. On Monday I will be using it for the first time at WDW, so since it was issued here at DL, should be interesting to see what may happen there.

Just got mine last week at DL and I had nothing but problems. After the 3rd visit (in 1 day) to the AP center the CM suggested that I return to the AP center every day to get a FP ticket that can be used for FPs. Does that seem like a reasonable course of action for someone who just dropped $700+ for a pass? I also enjoyed the CM telling me that the problem is that the Premier pass has 20 digits while the DL passes have 18 digits and the computer can't read the last 2 digits. How is that my problem? I'm no computer wizz but that just doesn't seem like that hard of a software fix to me. Disney never should have rolled out this pass (including the big press release) until it was 100% ready to go. I also thought that the CMs were a tad less than magical compared to those at WDW but that is really just opinion based. They just really didn't seem to care that I was having all of these problems. Maybe they're just sick of hearing it. This pass has been out almost 8 months, come on already.

Purchased the Premier Passport in August at Disneyland. Did not upgrade from an existing AP. At DL I was able to get FPs including WoC and discounts without any issues. Also, registered the Premier on the DL passholder site with no problems.

The WDW experience has not been as easy and I haven't even tried to use the Premeir at WDW. Had much difficulty registering the Premier with the WDW passholder site. IT manually entered Premier though with the wrong expiration date. CM told me the problems on the WDW site were because the Premier had not been used at WDW. I wasn't aware of this requirement. CM advised me to activate the Premier at Guest Relations before I try to enter a theme park for the first time (bring the original receipt) and that Guest Relations could also correct the expiration date on the passholder website. Will be in WDW in late October.

Well your talk about WDW has me scared. I do not have a receipt as I was one if the complementary upgrades. I will just stop by guest services when I get to DHS in Monday night and ask them if my pass is good to go.

That's exactly what happened to us in July, although they did not ask for any receipt. They could see in their magic computer that I was a DLR AP holder and a WDW AP holder. We did have to get a lead involved, but it was relatively easy. Just annoying as we were trying to make rope drop at the MK.

AAN - I think you've got the right idea. Head straight to Guest Services and ask for a lead. Have a magical trip! :wizard:

I will post as soon as I know. So at the latest it will be sometime on Tuesday.

I used my Premier pass for the first time in September for the first time at WDW. No issues whatsoever with getting in the parks or with fastpasses. it was one of the complimentary ones, and had only ever been used at DL until September.

And it seemed like the WDW CMs were a lot more aware of this pass than the DL ones. And all except 1 or 2 knew how to process the discount. My only negative was the CM in a store at AK who insisted I could only have 1 discount (AP or Disney Visa). I told her I knew and that I wanted the AP, and she tried telling me that I should take the visa one. I think she did not know how to process since she said she did not know what my AP was until I told her. She kept trying to get me to take the visa one until I pointed out it was only 10% and my AP is 20% and why would I choose the lesser discount. I think she was mad because I made her re-ring the entire purchase to get my discount right.:headache:

Thx for the tips, its just been frustrating for a new pass since they rolled out in March and they still haven't fix it completely. I hope everything goes well during my trip in December and I'll report if there is any problems with my Premier. When I go back to DL later next year and my AP is still having trouble, I'll just do what you other DISers said and go to the AP center and get a ticket so it could be use for FPs. I don't want to do it, but if I have to do it to get FP's, I will have too.

This is not a topic that should be talked on the DL thread but on the WDW thread, but on the WDW AP discount had the special merchandise discount going towards Sept 30, 2010 and I was wondering if they are still continuing it till December or not?

I'm sorry to hear that some of you are still having problems. I've used my pass at both parks and haven't had any problems getting in, getting FPs, or getting discounts.

I was occasionally asked to show ID when getting discounts at DLR, which was no big deal. Everyone at both parks knew exactly what the pass was- and most CMs were still a tad excited to see it. ("Oohh, you have one of the new ones!")

I wonder if the problems are more common with the passes that were automatic upgrades from last March. :confused3 I bought mine at WDW in May and used it again at DLR in September.

I had issues with this as well. I posted this on another thread when I figured things out:

"I just logged onto the WDW Passholder site for the first time and on my Welcome page it said my pass will expire on May 24, 2011. This alarmed me a tad because I bought it on July 31. The DLR AP site has the correct expiration date.

I had a problem finding the correct numbers to put on the WDW site. The DLR site uses the number under the barcode. Easy peasy. But the WDW site needs a date and some other numbers from the top of the pass. There's a pictorial showing the numbers you're supposed to use, but the highlighted ones didn't (appear to) work for me, so I kept trying variations until something did. It was the middle 4 numbers of the Tr: # ##### that finally allowed me access.

The thing is... when I went to my "edit passholder info" page, it showed me having 2 passes, one identified with the 4 middle numbers and the May expiration date, and one with the last 5 numbers and the correct expiration date. I deleted the incorrect pass and now I'm seeing the correct date on my passholder page."

I hadn't used mine at WDW when I wrote this, and had no problem using the pass when I was there last week. I had to do the finger scan thing when I used it the first time and that was it.

Some of these posts are making me think I now will not have a problem. I can access both resorts AP site with no problem and it has the correct expration date. To the Previous Poster. Did you go to Guest services before you put your pass in the turnstile? Were did you buy your pass? Oh and I too would like to know if the WDW discount was extended like it was at DL.

I bought my pass at Disneyland. I used it at WDW for the first time on Sept. 24th and had zero problems with it during the time I was there. I didn't go to guest relations before I used it, I just went to a turnstyle (at Typhoon Lagoon) and put it through the machine, then did a finger scan. It was just like entering every other time I went to a park. I didn't use it for any discounts, since they don't give you the same sort of discounts at counter service restaurants and I don't buy souvenirs. I did go on the Behind the Seeds tour and could have gotten a discount, but the discount using my Disney Visa was more, so I used that instead.

Thanks for the info. Maybe when I get to DHS Monday night I will try the main gate first. If I have a problem, I will go to Guest Relations. Thanks for the positive outlook.

Well I made it out here today and I promised a update with my DL issued Pass. Well I decided to just go to the main gate here at the DHS. Put my pass in the turnstile, and.....................................................................................................................................................................it worked no problem at all. So there you go. I don't know if it was luck or what but not one problem with it what so ever.
