Breaking news…we just announced during Disney’s annual shareholders meeting that a new premium annual pass for admission to the parks at both Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort will be offered beginning Thursday. It’s called “Disney Premier Passport” and it’ll feature the same benefits you get with the “premium” annual passes for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts for $700, plus applicable- sales tax.
So, what’s in it for you? At Walt Disney World:

And at Disneyland Resort:

  • Unlimited admission to both Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure Parks for a period of one year, including park hopping privileges
  • Parking at any pay-on-entry parking lot
  • Subscription to Backstage Pass.
  • Complimentary subscription to Disney’s Family Fun Magazine (one per household)

If you’re already holding a Premium Annual Pass for both Resorts, you’ll automatically be issued a “Disney Premier Passport” – with an expiration date based on the later of the two annual passes. You may also upgrade your annual or seasonal pass for one resort to a “Disney Premier Passport” for an additional fee.

Is this option available for children and how much does it cost? My daughter will be 7 this May.

I almost had a heart attack!!!!! I'm purchasing this on Sunday if it's avail!!!!!!

I just called my husband who is in Vegas and said guess what i'm getting for my birthday lol. It's friday and we land in Disneyland on Sunday. PERFECT timing as i needed to renew my annual pass anyway! I also own DVC and this is huuge for DVC members! I'm hoping we also get a discount! Now I know what will be offered as an inventive for purchasing later this month!

I almost had one too! Did I read that correctly - that it's $700 for the Premier? That's a bargain!

It really is to be honest. My PAP from DL alone was $429. This isn't something that appeals to me just because I won't be able to get to Florida enough to make it worthwhile this year, but $700 isn't a bad price for everything that you get! I think it's probably most ideal for people with easy access to the Florida parks that also want to make a trip to DL.

I wonder if they'll have a DVC member discount?!!?

I was just talking to a friend YESTERDAY about this, and wondering why they hadnt done anything like this yet. I guess they heard me. I just wish they had done it years ago when I was a flight attendant and frequented both parks on a regular basis. :confused3

If only flights to Florida weren't soooo pricey, oh I can dream cause that is a great price :)

I know. If I were going to Florida anytime soon I would get this. What's next a Super Premium good at ALLL parks worldwide?

Absolutely! And there are quite a few of our DLR DIS-ers here who have been alternating between DLR and WDW within the course of a year. I think it is a great deal, based on what the price of just a DLR PAP costs alone (though, as DisneyMomma81 pointed out, it will cost a pretty penny and require monthly payments for more than one Premier AP - unless money is no object!!). That's why I thought I misread the price - $700 plus tax to get into 6 theme parks and 2 water parks, as well as DisneyQuest, etc., 365 days a year, plus parking at both DLR and WDW? That is an insane bargain, when you really break it down! I was thinking they would charge maybe $1700, but not $700!!!:scared1:

Like you, Sonnyjane, I won't be able to get to WDW this year - in fact, I haven't even renewed my DLR PAP yet - but if I thought for one second I would even be able to make, let's say, two weekend trips to DLR and one 1-week trip to WDW within the course of a year, and have the airfare and hotels squared away with no trouble money-wise, that would be enough for me to get the Premier AP!! I don't need to go 10 times in a year - just twice to DLR and maybe one extended trip to WDW would justify getting that AP for me!! (Don't think that my wheels aren't spinning, though!;) I know I won't be able to pull it off this year, but I would definitely look into the Premier under different financial circumstances if I thought I could get to Orlando!!

I think that HydroGuy posted here that the number of visitors to WDW was down in 2009, while the number of visitors to DLR was up by something like 15% (which was obvious by the crowds). So perhaps this will be a good way of getting some of that business back to WDW.

I wonder if I buy a wdw annual now for my aug trip when I go to DL in Nov will i be able to upgrade it to the premier.

Bug

WAIT!!!Maybe i'm not understanding this but,,,you get admission to Disneyland AND Disney World?????with the same $700 pass?????

That's what I wonder, too. Both parks allow APs to be upgraded at any time, so I do hope they allow the upgrade at any point from one park's AP to the combo AP.

I am completely fainting, because I thought it was so expensive, but DH said it's a bargain, and maybe we could get me one, so I can do solo trips to DLR to keep me sane (which of course allows him and DS to laze around and watch forbidden cartoons all day long, LOL, because I'm out of the house) along with our big trip to WDW this year.
