Hello all. Up early today, 4 am, the dogs were restless. Then mI was just going back to sleep at 6 and DH had to tell me that Robert Plant did not die as he had reported yesterday, but it was Robert Palmer. Another loss in the music world, so sad, he was only in his 50s.

Carol, do we have pictures? And good luck at the competition today. When we were in GA, there were people who came to the games just to see the bands. The football fans sat in one part of the stadium, and the band fans in another. It was a lot of fun, I still miss it.

DH has gone to intall a huge carpet job, so he will be gone most all day. I hope I don't get into too much trouble.............

LK - we just saw weather for Pittsburgh and I don't think you're at a soccer game this morning. I also feel sorry for Leah & Lenny on their soggy camping trip.

Hi again all... cable people came and left and now I've even showered We have a new line going from the pole to our house and it seems to be helping for now. Even cable looks better

Carol, glad that the performance went well last night. I am sure your DD looked great! We had trouble with our crowds my first two years in HS. After a while they realized that we were pretty cool and they'd hush to listen! I hope they do soon for you as well. And so glad that you got the calculator working!!!

Well, we got the soccer game in, but we had to skip the marching band festival for my other nephew. My sister said they were moving it inside and it would be an overcrowded mess in there. Logan and I took my mom out to a Japanese restaurant for her birthday on Monday. It was the first time she had ever eaten at one and she really enjoyed it. I am stuffed!

I am watching the Trading Spaces episode right now that they filmed in Pittsburgh.

So much catching up to do and very little time. I have to have a snack and prep work on tomorrow's breakfast before I pick up my girls at 10:00. We have 4 sweet girls that were very well behaved and actually slept! I was thrilled. However we went to bed pretty late and I'm a bit of a zombie.

I did see Stephanie's request for advice. Amy had SO much trouble with this last year. We even had to have a conference with all her 6th grade teachers. She is gifted and has the ability to be a straight A student, but she just lost everything. What helped? She now uses an agenda to list her assignments (required by school). I check her agenda each day and she tells me about what they are doing in class. That way we know what homework needs to be done and we can act as a safety net for her. As she does the work, she puts it into an acordian folder that we got for her. It's her homework folder and no assignment goes into the backpack where it gets lost. All worksheets and works in progress all go in the same folder. Last year we even used a chart that she carried in her notebook. It listed all her classes and she would check off when she turned in the homework in that class. We used positive reinforcement, so if she had the right number of checks at the end of the week we went for ice cream or a soda or to a movie. You get the idea. I probably still have that scan in my computer if you'd like me to email you a copy. Just PM me your email address.

Gotta get to work. Hope the rest of you are enjoying your weekend. The conference is going well, but I'm glad it ends after church tomorrow. DH and I cooked their afternoon snack and dinner today. My feet hurt. We fed about 80 people. It was pretty fun, actually. Talk to you guys tomorrow when the dust settles, if I am awake.

I like Marc Anthony!
but my opinion of Enrique is from that annoying song 'Hero'...........the man needs to decide if he wants to sing or cry & pick one!!!

Lars, I sort of agree with you about Enrique Iglesias... the only thing I really like about him is that he sings with passion and that makes up for a lot with me. I also like the style of his stuff... very 80s-ish

Hello Angels.

The festival was nice yesterday. I think the band looks good. It is funny because they anounce the Drum Major and tne 3 trumpet soloists. DS is one of the soloists and another soloist has the same last name so it sounds like our family is taking over the band.

DD has been doing a lot of AP homework this weekend. DS should be doing his.

We all watched "Bring Down the House" last night. It was pretty funny. But, it was PG-13 and I was embarassed watching it with DD and her boyfriend. If that was PG-13, R must be porn.

DH and I went to church then out for bagels after. There has to be an incentive to get us to church these days.

I am fixing a turkey breast dinner tonight with all the trimmings and I hope to get an apple pie made too. Better get moving on it.
