Sorry, Steph, but we are suffering from the same problems here. Logan's homework can be completed and sitting in his folder, and he still forgets to turn it in. I am trying to cut down on the rushing-around-like-mad-in-the-morning routine, but we still have a long way to go.

I've jsut had Patrick make a list of those things he needs to do at night and in the morning...

how can you forget to brush your teeth?????EEEEEWWWWWWW

Hi all! I hope you all had great days :)

Marsha, I initially thought the same thing too about making him go back to class. But then I remembered my sister fell in school and it took about 5 hours for anyone to think she might have broken her arm. I guess it makes sense when I think like that. But still... those boys

LK, I hope you all have sunshine this weekend!! Sounds like you have a bunch of stuff going on where you'd need it. And congrats on the 5 pounds lost!!!!

Merry, your Halloween story is too funny :teeth:

Alan, I love grits!!! Haven't made them in a while though. Not much for the rest of the casserole you have mentioned, but the cheese does sound good :)

Steph, no advice on Patrick! Just good luck!!

But not brushing teeth... I'm with you EWWWWW!

Nice relaxing weekend up ahead... wonder what I can do for fun :)

I just got a call that gives me more time for the weekend! A few of us in a service group I am in were going to volunteer at the Alabama Highland Games tomorrow, but we had a few drop out so have cancelled.

I will miss going to the Clan tents and especially the massed bands, but can use the grass cutting/shopping time!

Grits may be an aquired taste, but they are a staple around here and I love 'em. (They have to be done right, of course)

Perhaps if you had some of Mrs. AlabamaAlan's homemade buttermilk biscuits to go with it....

Okay Dinner quiz time......

YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate peas and so does my DH. They will never set foot in my house. I am curious though - what is the Wiggle?
I actually put my son's stuff in his bookbag and get his toothbrush ready, but he is only in 1st grade.

Well my 11 year-old often forgets he should change his underwear EVERY DAY!!! Big EEEEEWWWWWWW!!

I almost hate to say this because I'll jinx him but Matt's suddenly become very organized this year. The PTO does give each kid a planner and they're required to write down all assignments and projects. The both keep their backpacks in a corner of the dining room and I'm trying to get them to put completed stuff right in the backpacks. We also just started with a separate calendar for projects, etc. hung on the door we use to leave the house. I can't guaranty things always go smoothly but so far so good this year.

On another note, can't say that I've heard of TUNA PEA WIGGLE....although it does make me want to break out in a chorus of Let There Be Peas On Earth!! ;)

Alan, I'd love to try those biscuits...and I like grits too!

Congrats on the weight loss LK....enjoy your weekend with Logan.

Hoping Dylan had a good day and isn't too uncomfortable with his foot. Home his mom had a good day too.

Hi CS & SB!

Alan - I'll have some of your DW's biscuits, but that is as far as I'll go - NO GRITS FOR ME!

Hi Gail and CS!

O.k. - I guess we are on for a chat at 9:30 this Monday night. See you all there!

Mmmmmm... homemade biscuits sound very good!!!!

I am afraid to ask though... what is that tuna wiggle thing?

Hi E!

Forgot to say Gail - Yuck about the underwear thing! I'm sure he would love to know you told us that!

I was thinking the very same thing Lorraine!!

Hoping Merry's group is behaving....she sure is making them good food!

Good Evening All!
I got Dylan in to see an ortho doctor today & he was able to put a walking cast on him....thank goodness! I was very worried about the non-weight bearing one....not a good thing for an active 7 y/o! His first choice of cast color was lime green but they were out of it so he got bright orange instead:D He s getting around quite well now. We just went out to dinner at our favorite Italina place & now he's complaining that it's uncomfortable & tight feeling. I think he's just overdone it today so I have his foot elevated & I gave him some Ibuprofen. Now I'm catching up on my Dising......................

bump from almost page 2 :bounce:

sorry but I'm not a fan of grits or peas(unless the peas are the French Peas from Veggietales:) )

I hate peas, I hate peas..........DH loves them. I wnat to know, what is tuna pea wiggle?

I love, love, love grits and biscuits. WIth sausage or white gravy, makes no difference. Too bad I have to severly restrict my intake of all of the good stuff. CS, you can't be serious, no grits in Texas! JK, lots of people don't like them. Funny, they will eat cream of wheat, and grits are just like that. They are also really good with butter (real butter) and sugar for dessert, or with cheddar cheese, YUM. Baked Cheese Grits Cassarole. AN excellent source of all things bad for most people!!

First 4 hours at work, pretty easy. I will get another 4 on Monday, too, I guess and see how it goes. I can't see getting stressed at all, I think I worked too fast today, but if I have the work to do, shouldn't I do it? Tomorrow, I am finishing the top of the bed spread, and then put the back on 3 sides. I need to decide how fluffy I want it, quilt or comfortor thick? I am leaning to comfortor, I think it will look better fluffy, not stuffy.

Have a great evening all.

Marsha: I do see grits all the time but I don't like them at all.My family jokes that I must be from up north about that:)

Morning all

Lars, glad to hear about the cast. Too bad he couldn't get lime green :p I hope he is feeling better today

Well I can't stay long... cable guy is supposed to come again today to really fix the connection... I hope so :)

Good morning friends

All sorts of good things to report.

First, DD and DS finally had their first band performance last night. It went really well. The marching looked good and the music was good. The only thing that needs to improve is the volume. It was hard to hear over all the people talking in the stands. (How rude!) DD looked so nice in her skirt as drum major. Today they go to a festival so the audience should be a little more attentive. BTW, the football team won their game.

Second, after a phone call to Texas Instruments, we got the calculator working with the computer. A very nice lady named Tanya walked DD through the set up step by step and got it going. Took about 10 -15 minutes. How is a person supposed to do this on their own??

Stephanie, the only thing I can report about my 11 year old boy is that when he became 14, he got over it. Time will fix the problem, you just have to suffer through. And this problem does not skip the female population.

I am not a grits fan. I don't like the consistency of them.

Lars, glad Dylan is able to walk now. You can but an ice bag over the cast and a little cold will sneak through. That might help the discomfort.

Now, on with my Saturday.
