I'm sorry to hear that Laura. Would you consider going to another vet that could take her quicker, or do they charge a "new patient" fee?

The problem is that because she is a big dog and is totally terrified when she goes to the vet, I need to have my DH take her. He can't go tonight due to a Cub Scout meeting at our house, they have no appointments tomorrow, and he is going away for the weekend camping with DD, so that rules out Friday and Saturday. I hate to have her wait so long, but we'll see how she does with the aspirin for now. The campsite isn't that far away, so we can always adjust everything to take her Friday or Saturday if she gets much worse.

LK sorry to hear about your pup....we have an emergency services clinic for pets here...do you have anything like that you can go to?

Well teacher conference went well....and we are now the proud owners of two lop bunnies.....don't ask...the two are totally not related!!!!


More importantly LK.....whatcha doing with the scouts today? I have a meeting in 2 hours, and no plan!!!!!!

Logan is in Webelos 2, and they are working on their Scientist pin. Last week, they made Gak, fossils, and milkshakes (yummy!) and tonight they are making pop bottle rockets by combining vinegar and baking soda and then putting a cork in the opening. I forget what else they are doing tonight (other than driving DH nuts! ). Do you ever go to Home Depot or Lowe's for their free crafts? The boys really enjoy that. They have made bird feeders, step stools, treasure boxes, etc. Gotta love that free stuff!

I realize it may hurt DH's pride (it would mine) but is there someone else from your family, church, community, etc. you could get to help with the dog?

I may have just gotten a mental image of it being worse than it really is, though...

Hi Angels and Alan. Well it is raining off and on, just enough to make the cars muddy, (get it, dust and sprinlkles???) and ruin any semblance of hair style. Did the second recruiter interview, he seemed like a nice guy. Talked to the other girl about the job she called me on yesterday, she is going to send my resume - get this - if the hiring manager need more than the ones she already sent!!!! Who knows what these people are thinking. I can't figure it out. Now I have to go find a copy machine and copy the state transaction priveledge tax stuff (it is a priveledge to pay tax on the transactions we do in our flooring busuness?) and send that in, another $212.00 for the state. It sure does cost a lot to run a business, before you even do anything, or while you are doing it, licenses, forms, bonds, more forms, insurance, more forms. Every year, Annual Meeting of the Corporate Board (next year we are having in Hawaii, maybe), taxes, sheesh.............. I am glad that we at least operate in the black at all times. I think DH picked up a new account yesterday, he needs like 5 or 6 steady clients and then the rest of the stuff he does, and maybe he will quit the retail job and just do installation and repairs again. THe man loves floors!

LK, I think you should try to get the dog to the vet, too. Our malamute used to like to jump up and grab his leash when he finished his business, he would always walk himself home. One day he did it and came down the wrong way and broke his back leg. It was on Sunday, of course, so the emergency vet had to set it, but it really was hurting him, he was yelping and crying, I hope your pooch is not in that bad way.

She is still yelping occasionally, but I just had her out in the back yard now, and she was running around, so I'm even more confused now! Alan, DH is the only one I would feel safe taking her. She needs to wear a muzzle because we are afraid she may bite the vet, and the last few times we had to take her we also had to give her a sedative to calm her down. She can be a pain in the you-know-what, but we love her anyway! I just don't understand how she can be yelping in pain one minute and then running around the yard the next minute....

Marsha, I hope something opens up for you soon! What a pain to have to keep going through the interview process. I don't understand why they always need a million copies of resumes either - can't they just share???

Ah, I understand. So this is not a puppy that the Scouts can earn a first aid merit badge for? If she is feeling up to running, then she should be able to handle a group of boys attempting to put a bandage on a paw....

LK-It's so sad when your pet is in pain His being able to run around in the yard is a little odd.. maybe he's getting better?

Alan-No ceiling fan here right now it's cold at night....but DH keeps insisting on cracking the window & I am freezing in the morning!!!

Marsha-I am still crossing my fingers for you on your quest for a job. Don't these employers all know they'd be lucky to have you??? I'll call & tell them so if you want me to!

Who's ready for a very embarassing Lars story????
I got Dylan all ready for his Wolf Cub meeting, sent him to school in his handsome outift & everything. Then I spent this afternoon getting all prepared to run the meeting (parents take turns helping the leader) I was ready to go & excited about it!! Had the helathy snack & drink all loaded in the van & everything
When I got to the school Dylan was waiting for me all excited for scouts & we went in the building with me lugging all the paraphanalia that I needed for the meeting. We spent a few minutes lookig around to see which room it was in & then in the office we bumped into one of the other boys in his den & this kid was out of uniform I talked to his Mom &she said OMG there's not a meeting today is there??? I said I thought so...........
OMG OMG OMG!!!!! No meeting!!!! It's next week!!!! I was sooooembarassed!!!!!!
But I figure......what's the boy scout motto??? Be Prepared.....and I was.....just a week early

LK, my dog takes aspirin every day for his arthritis and it really helps him.

Lars, you and I may need to swap DH's. I like the window open and DH wakes up freezing.

Have to run to teacher conferences. With 2 kids in the same school, I have 10 teachers to visit.

OMG Lars, funny story! You are really anxious for him to get started, huh!

Ceiling fan still on and windows cracked a wee little bit. I am usually very warm when I go to bed, and then wake up freezing!

We just had the grossest pizza for dinner - Tombstone's Cheeseburger pizza. Blech - that one is going in the garbage!

You've hit the nail on the head......there's too much darn homework....sometimes it keeps us busy until it's bedtime. I'm lucky I don't work full-time and feel so sorry for families where both parents must.

Lars, I use a fan every night when I sleep... partially for the noise and the other part for air circulation. Not usually ever to keep cool.
