Okay Gail, you win..

But only because I can tell it is not a forged signature, but "the real McCoy" :p

There you are young lady...there better be enough pizza for everyone!

alan: there's 25 pizzas and ok the pizza boy was a dead ring for John Mayer;)

....Dr. Zivago? Or Dr. Dolittle? Or perhaps Dr. Pepper????!?!?:teeth:

Val ~
That sundae sure looks de-lish, 'cept it needs MORE WHIPPED CREAM!!!

I'm here now...........and as usual I'm behaving like a true Angel
newangel.gif

and if the pizza guy really looks like John Mayer we're gonna need to order more!!!!!

Carol - I'm wondering if there were any repercussions on going to the game on Saturday. From my perspective as a parent and former band member, I think it was wonderful that such an effort was made to get the kids there. I know that administrators and/or school board members tend to have a different mind set. Hope all is going well! :D

Hi all. Glad to hear that Alan is attempting to keep us in line. ;) It's a job I wouldn't attempt in a million years.

I fought off the urge to eat brownies and whipped cream, but it still sounds pretty yummy.

I'm a little angry with DS this afternoon. He forgot his swim trunks for swim practice, so he called my cell and ordered me to deliver them right away to the OU pool (that's where they practice). Like I don't have other things on my agenda. When I told him I'd do it, but it wasn't exactly convenient because I had to pick up his sister from school and go to the post office, he yelled at me! Oh the joys of hormonal teenagers. Sigh. I think we'll have a family meeting tonight to discuss getting our acts together and being considerate of others. I bet he'll love that. I'm thinking both kids need checklists of all the things they need for the day, to look at before heading out the door. What do you think? Sounds kind of like 1st grade, but I'm tired of them forgetting stuff.

I'm anxious to hear what happened today, too, Carol. Did the school say anything?

Hope all with allergies can get some relief. My eyes are itching like crazy. I brought home some beautiful wild flowers and DH says that may be what is doing it. I hate it because they are so pretty that they hardly look real. I may have to pitch them.

I'm off to take Amy to ballet. Her dad will pick her up after he finishes his workout at the Y. I like this plan. ;) I'm also running to the grocery for a few items. Wonder if they have a sugar free brownie mix? I may have to look. Guess I could make them from scratch using splenda. MMMMmmmmmm. I'm getting hungry.

Brownies, whipped cream, pizza. How is a girl supposed to keep her girlish figure around this place?

Alan, chaperoning? This ought to be good.

MP, I think if one of my kids had yelled at me when I was doing a favor, I would have refused at that point. "Sorry, you lost your chance."

No repercussions at school today. Sarah asked one of her teachers, who was planning on attending the game, if she went. The teacher said she didn't go because the kids weren't playing and Sarah spilled the beans to her. DD doesn't think the teacher would say anything. Wednesday is conference night so if there is anything to be heard, I should hear it by then.

Off to fix dinner then a band boosters meeting.

I expect you all to be on your best behavior while I am gone tonight.

Uniform inspections will be held via PMs :p :p

(Okay...no inspections, Mrs. AlabamaAlan probably wouldn't approve)

I'm off to pick up the family and head to Chick-Fil-A for good food and a chance to turn the kids loose while we eat in peace!

There aren't any Chick-Fil-A restaurants here! I always see their bilboards on the freeway when we are heading for WDW and I beg Mr. Lars (DH would hate being called that...I'll need to do it more often) to please please pleeeeeease stop so we can try it but he never does.
Mr. Lars is a no nonsense long distance driver.....we leave Michigan at about 5 pm & drive straight through the night so the kids will sleep most of the way. He doesn't stop for us to eat inside a restaurant....if we have to pee we better hop out on one side of the McDonalds & be waiting on the other side when he finishes ordering our meal at the drive through or we're gonna be stuck in the middle of Georgia:rolleyes: :p

Gee, I always thought Lew was an efficient driver and we also try to cover a lot of ground in the overnight hours.....but he does make rest stops. I'd better not let him see what you do!

Glad to hear there seems to be no repercussions Carol. I also agree with your reaction if a kid yelled at you. I suspect I will do the same thing when the time comes. BTW....those hormones already seem to be active in my DS....as least as far as moods and attitude....and he's only going to be 12!

Evening all :) I hope all is well with everyone today!

Merry, I have itchy allergy eyes as well. I hope yours feel better soon!

So glad to hear that so far, no repercussions, Carol. I think kids should just be able to have a good time no matter what.

Lars, just come visit me... forget Mr. Lars... we'll get you some yummy Chick Fil A here!

Believe me, ladies, he is going to get an ear-full tonight! I won't come through for him in the future if he talks to me that way. Not looking forward to our family meeting. Calgon take me away! I do want to say that I USUALLY have the sweetest kids. They are very loving and seldom act like this. I guess that makes it harder to take when they act like morons.

Chick-fil-a sounds yummy. I love their sandwiches, and their waffle fries are good too. We have one in the mall, but I seldom eat at the mall. So I eat one of their sandwiches once in a blue moon. They used to do box suppers for our elementary school when we had fundraisers. I miss that.

I'm fixing hot roast beef sandwiches with mushrooms, onions, green peppers and cheese for dinner. Think I'll throw in some steak fries and a salad. Guess I'd better get with it or the hungry masses will arrive before I even begin.

Hey everyone, haven't been able to get out of my own way today......heading to bed soon..

but hey...i'll be up early to do the riddle.....wooohooo.....

still looking for 2 bunnies...I've now decided I want french lops...like this one
a_EDDIE.jpg

French lops get to be about 15 pounds....poor dh is going to wish he let me get a kitten (insert evil smilie here!!)

Hey Laura, tell Matt I said Mr. Lars, Mr. Lars, Mr. Lars, Mr. Lars, Mr. Lars, Mr. Lars....get a rabies shot!!!

okay, now that I've cracked myself up..time to hit the hay!

Laura and Gail. I want instructions in how to do this overnight drive.

We want to be at Univesity of Massachusetts on Saturday October 18 at 9AM for an open house. There is no school on the Friday before (Oct. 17) but there is a football game. So....DD has to be at the game. We will finish there at about 10. I guess we come home, change, load the car and go. How will we two 50 year olds be able to pull an all-nighter? I think I am too old for this stuff.

Nothing was said at the band booster meeting about our little trip. Pretty much every parent there had a child who went.

You know, all this Chick-Fil-A talk really makes me want to go to the mall for lunch tomorrow!

Steph, what a cute little bunny there!!! I had a black lop eared when I was a kid. Very cute :)

Carol, so glad nothing was said about it at the booster meeting :)

Quiet in here tonight.... I have to say the cool thing of my evening is that I was able to find the negatives to our first two trips to WDW... very cool!

Carol - Mr. Weather also doubles as a chauffer....what time do you want him to pick you up in Elkton? He's only 46 so he can handle it!

Barring that offer, you could leave at midnight and be in Amherst by 8 a.m. at the latest. Do you stop to "go" or do you do what the the Lars clan does?

Take 95 North....choose how you want to get through the NY/NJ area (our preference is the Garden State and Tappan Zee Bridge). In CT take exit 47 or 48 to I-91 North, which will bring you through Hartford and Springfield, MA.

We can certainly give you more detailed directions if you'd like, just let us know!

We had a productive discussion. He agreed that he had been unkind and I believe he'll think twice before talking that way again. I think he was stressed and in panic mode, but that's no excuse. I made it clear that if anyone wants me to do a favor, they'd better talk to me nice from now on or I will just say "sorry". It was very liberating. \

We also made before bed and before school lists. I told them I was through reminding them about their stuff and they'd better check their lists. We'll see how that goes.

I got my errands run and fixed dinner. It was good, by the way.

This is going to be a busy week. This weekend is our church's junior high youth conference and kids from all over the state are descending on our town. We are going to have 4 junior high girls for the weekend. They'll be at church all day every day, but we'll have them for evening snacks through breakfast each morning, so I figure that I better have all my work done before the weekend. I may need Saturday and Sunday to rest up if they don't sleep at night. My mom has invited us to have them stay at her house since she has more space than we do. So I'm moving home for the weekend. Sounds strange huh?

Cool that you found the negatives from your trip, E. I just love looking at old photos.

I don't know about those all night drives. We live too far to do that when we go to WDW and I think we're getting too old to do it anyway. I'd probably be shot for the whole trip if I stayed up all night on the way down. I do know that Mr. Poppins let's us stop and go to the bathroom. He can be a vacation commando at times, but he would be in the doghouse big time if he didn't give me breaks! :p
