Alan, thanks for the chuckle this morning.

thanks to everyone else for the good wishes this morning. Shawn is apparently using me as an example to my mother and neighbor...that you don't walk into his salon and tell him how he should cut my hair......they both did that, so on principle, he's leaving mine long.....lol.....

raining here, I have salsa chicken in the crockpot, and DH promised to be home early......sounds like some quality family time tonight....of course that's after i finish shoveling out the house from this crazy week.

Anyone know how to plumb for water/ice fridge? I have a new fridge coming on Tuesday, and it's a side by side with water and ice on the door.....cept we don't have water to that side of the kitchen......better check out some DIY sites!!!!

And also, cruising the boards I saw this title and ofcourse wondered!

Today I am working on my bedspread, and sending a Thank You letter to the comany from yesterday. I do not have good feelings for this opportunity, because she really wants someone who can answer those calls! And I have never been just a receptionist. Sorry, but there is more to work than 3 phone calls, and the person they want to fire only wants to answer the phones, sheesh!!!!

Hope you are all getting over Isabel, and Carol, it would be nice if the school relented and let the kids get their uniforms, etc.

Lars, gee I hope they figure it out, it seems like it could be so many things, apendix, gall bladder, kidney infection/stones, endo. I know they have checked everything, but lots of hugs for you both.

LOL! My DD is a percussionist, and shall we say "rather large" on top. DDD to be exact! She had some real issues with cymbals! A little hard to do if your arms aren't long enough!

This weekend I am housecleaning (really I am!) I am also ushering at a symphony concert and then I get to see the show for free ... tomorrow night is Beethoven w/ a guest pianist.

And now, a Band Day update. Still no return call from the band director to anyone. We think he went out of town. No results from the Board office. DD did speak to the band director at University of Delaware, who is hosting the event. After MANY phones calls, the band is going as a student led group. If a student has an instrument at home or can borrow one, he/she can play. Otherwise, kids can go and watch. They are all wearing concert attire, black pants and white shirt, most have shirts with the band logo. Get your own ride there and back, carpool if you can. We have a second trumpet at home and just borrowed a clarinet, so my 2 can play. Of course they don't have the music. At least the kids will be able to watch the 2 college bands play. It is the best we could come up with.

Phew. Off to bed soon.

Update on my friend:
She is home & resting...her DH says she's been sleeping all dya. Her family doctor is starting the paperwork to get her HMO to approve her going to the Mayo Clinic.

LK, I'm praying for your friend's little boy. Wish they had the same treatments closer to home. Wonderful that they found out they could take him there.

I heard from David tonight. He seems to be having fun. They were all heading to the hotel pool. Tomorrow night they are going to a rodeo. Mostly he says the meetings are pretty boring, but they're getting a lot done.

I get to go to the Sooners game tomorrow with Amy. Allen is going to have to work concessions again. I'm excited. I'm supposed to go to a baby shower tomorrow night, but I may beg off. Guess I'll head to bed so I'll be bright-eyed tomorrow.

Kinmar, The band director is young. He is a new graduate, first year teaching, and I think is overwhelmed by it all. Setting up class plans, teaching an instrument he doesn't play, and then marching band on top of it all. Plus he moved here from a distance and just got married in August. He may have figured the cancellation was a done deal and left town. He didn't know how hard kids and parents will work to get what they want. Who knows.

It is sunny today, with no wind. We have electric but many don't. Still no cable though.
