Awwww shucks; I'm tetched...but y'all knew that didn't you??

Love the new title change :teeth:

YAY!!! Alan at least loves us!!!!

Hmmm... Mickey Tatoos... you know I once started a thread about tatoos and got a bunch of good recommendations for places in Florida. Maybe I'll go get one the next time I head south. Then again, maybe not ;)

I need to find some food for lunch! Enjoy the day all :)

Get adventurous; go into a tatoo parlor, close your eyes and say "Just surprise me" :p

I would get a tatoo with Mrs. AlabamaAlan's name on it, but if tatoos hurt, I would think that Braille tatoos would really hurt!!

I have to admit that I whip badges on by hand and I hate doing it! I've never glued one. I'm too afraid they'll fall off. And on down the road I'll want to remove them to make a shadow box, I think. David is getting a new, larger shirt this week. That means lots of ripping and resewing is in my future.

Amy is 12. She loves to read and sometimes has 3 or 4 books going at the same time. She reads at a post high school level, and I think she'll probably like the books. Need to try to find them for her. She says that The Hobbit is on her reading list for this year, so she can use it for a book report, too. She actually wore out the spine on the Harry Potter book, and I think she read the new one 3 times already.

I'm glad to see that Alan loves us. Where are the other men?

No tatoos for me. At least, not the real kind. I am allergic to pain.

Sandi, I mainly do family and vacation albums. I have made an album for each of my kids that I add to every year. Those they can take with them when they move out. The others stay with me for now. My kids love looking at their albums. Lots of memories there.

Merry: you should see my most recent reading project:) Return of the King,Order of the Phoenix,Chaos Bleeds(Buffy),a Buffy graphic novel(aka comic book) and a behind the scenes book on Deep Space 9

LOL Alan! I am not sure I'd want to do that. Actually I'd love to have a Mickey tatoo very similar in look to the design on my earrings. Just black or dk brown and probably on my shoulder or the small of my back :) Just too afraid of needles actually

The main difference being that if you get tired of your earrings you can take them off.....;)

Alas, my Mickey tattoo that I got a few weeks ago is now a distant memory. I was pleased with how long it lasted. Maybe I should get something a little more permanent next time?!?!?
Now where are those tag fairies when you need them....all this talk of tattoos!!! And on that same subject, we need Marsha!

My last response should serve as "Marsha bait" :p

(But it was meant as fun..not condemnation...right???)

I did my good deed for the day by finally having a high enough iron level to donate platelets. I watched "The Wedding Planner" as I was donating. It was a better movie than I thought it would be. I'm not a huge fan of J Lo.

45 minutes until the kiddies come home. I think I'd better take a nap now.

Way to go on being a platelets donor!

I have never done it myself, but have friends that do. Quite frankly, I only donate whole blood about twice a year now, but that's not too bad for someone who does not like needles!

Good for you, LK! They won't let me donate since I had breast cancer. That's okay. I hate needles and they can never find my veins. Sometimes they poke and poke before they find one. One nurse told me she was sure I had no blood.

I kind of liked The Wedding Planner, too. I'm not crazy about her either, but he is sure cute! Now, if my shoe got stuck and I was in danger I just know the person who would come to my aid wouldn't look like that!

CS that's quite a list. Hoping my DD will branch out a little this year. She's in a Book Mania class this year as an elective. I think they'll encourage them to try a variety. Have my fingers crossed on that one.

Why not get her into Terry Pratchett/Discworld? How old is she (sorry if you said!)... I started with 'Carpet People' and then the Nomes trilogy (Truckers, Diggers and Wings) when I was 10 and have been a fan ever since! He has also written 'Maurice and His Educated Rodents' as a childrens book but based on the Discworld and it is excellent. If she likes HP/LOTR she is bound to love it!!

LK - Just have to say *hugs* and well done for being a donor! I have a v rare blood type but am underweight (for my height) so they won't let me give blood... maybe some day

All this talk of tattoos is scary! I hate needles! But I did have a temporary one done at Typhoon L... it didn't last long at all though (about 2 days!)

Cya,
Gaspode

Merry: I try to read a mix of books, some fun and fluffy and some classics mixed with non fiction

I will never get tired of my tattoo. And I will never get tired of my piercings, all 11 of them! SO there!!!!! I have finally decided on my next tattoo, but I am not sure if I want to get it before I get my navel pierced or after. And that will keep me from donating platelets, in additon to the fact that no matter what I do, I can't get my iron up enough for them to take them anyway. And today in the mail, I get a letter asking me to donate 2 or 3 times a month!

No jobs at TDS, but I dropped an application in to Macys. I have a teleconference call tomorrow with the AT&T resorce center, a perk of being laid off, if my binder of all the things they will do for me gets here. I have to wait for thet. I started making notes for my resume, and did put one out on monster dot com. That is enough for today.

I will get my hour in the pool at 2pm, then when DH gets home from work, we have to take the van to Circuit City to get the CD changer installed. It's just the work van, don't get excited.

I sewed all my badges on my sash when I was a GS, I don't know about hot gluing them. When we rode Gold Wing Motorcycles and were in a group, I used Wonder Under for the patches, It was easier than sewing but wore off after a while.

Lars, I believe that the correct term would be seamstress not sewer, but I could be mistaken.

I love to read, and am going to have to get a new library card, I can't buy books like I used to.

Gaspode, my nephews got tats at TL also, they did not last too well. What a turn around for my sister, in 2000 we went on the DCL Land and Sea package with her older boy, he was 10 then now 13, and he saw my tattoo. He was shocked, and she said, "Don't even think about it". Well 3 years later, she is buying them both tempy tats, and let the 13 yr old pierce his ear. SOme things are just not worth the worry.

And for the record, once again, it does not hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not the tattoos, not ANY of the piercings, and I have a low pain tolerance.

I hope the rest of our men are shamed into coming back more often. I know that ALan can't Dis from home, but the rest of them???????

So who else is picturing Marsha with friends in Girl Scout uniforms riding motorcycles? :smooth:

Marsha-I'm pretty sure that you are right & seamstress is the correct term.................so what that means is that........"I am not a seamstress"!!!!!or a sewer or a stitcher or a mender :p ;) :p LOL!!

and I'm thinking about having 11 piercings........I can't think of 11 places to pierce???

First there was DisCon.......followed by DisCon II.....followed by RiddleCon..........who's up for......

<font size="5"><font color="#FF0000"><font face="Comic Sans MS"><marquee direction="right" align="middle" behavior="alternate">TattooCon!!</marquee></font></font></font>

Seamstress, sticher, whatever...

I think you're all a bunch of sew-and-sews :p :p

Put down that needle! It was all in fun....
